Hey Dancers! BONUS TIP #11: List your excuses, and then, create an opposite NEW empowering excuse to counter that! Make a list with your NEW empowering excuses and put them up on your wall where you can see it often. Start creating reasons to help you take action! Analyzing yourself is anti dancing, that made me pause and replay that over and over. What a brilliant statement!

I love dancing and I train it on my own (repeating what I learnt years ago from my trainer) while my main focus is on improving my art skills because that's what I want to be able to live off entirely.
And those points you mentioned how to improve dancing? Many of those are the things I always repeat to beginner artists that ask me for help! I love how much the life philosophy and right attitude works exactly the same way for many different aspects in our lives!

Right on! Hard work beats talent every time. Kudos on your years of working on your "talents"! Sounds like you have so many! and 10 languages... what are they? How do your different interests influence one another?

@@DanceInsanity Thank you :) And it does every time! :)
Polish is my native language, foreign languages that I learnt are: English, French, Latin, German, Spanish, Italian, Croatian, Slovenian, Russian and Norwegian. I did some others with Duolingo (like Hungarian, Welsh, Chinese, Swedish or Dutch) but I don't count them in because I'd have problems with leading a conversation in them :D
I definitely see how my other passions influence each other:
When I translate, well, here knowledge of particular subjects comes in very handy because a translator needs to know how something works before translating it (otherwise many bad things happen and it looks like a bad device translation xD).
When I write I usually give at least one character one of them - it's good to write about what we know, we can get inside a character's head then better.
And when I make illustrations I often draw and paint dancers or people in motion and I use my knowledge from dance and martial arts from years ago (I draw body parts and I know how it feels when holding such a position or making a certain move so I also know which muscle flex to mark and where to mark straighter lines for stretching) or I use colours and flow of brushwork to express the music.
Playing instruments and singing is just a hobby for myself and I didn't do acting since a long time, but I notice dance and art influences in them too - the movement, the images I have in my head when performing - sometimes thinking about certain colours and shapes or brushwork changes how it looks from the outside. Those things also help me with dancing :)
And one last thing, because it's getting too long xD I had a wonderful dance trainer in high school - she would use our imagination to help us learn technique better and those were sometimes very plastic descriptions (like imagining that there's a string pulling our spine up but in the same time keeping all our body parts together even while stretching - it prevented us from e.g. breaking position because of wrong placing of arm).

I have watched ballroom dancing since the 1980s when I was a little girl, especially the latin division because I was Hispanic. I grew up in a small rural town in Texas and always wanted to learn how to dance but wasn't near a studio. I remember when they had these big competitions at the Ohio Star Ballroom??? I think back then it was the largest dance floor in North America at that time. Thanks for the video, I guess nowadays with the internet I should start learning. Even if I dance by myself, maybe one day my husband will get interested.

We were competing at the weekend, first time in 2 years. We made it to the final of O35 Latin. I was so excited to be in the final I lost focus and messed up. We finished 5th but I'm disappointed that I threw my chance away to win 🙈

I love you guys and I really love your app, but the monthly is not in my budget right now…do you ever sell any of your modules individually? For instance, I would love to purchase the 21-day Balance series. 🤗
