    Hi, LiWen! Question- could you please walk us through your warm up/preventative care routine for your feet/legs? I have recently become a very avid salsa/bachata dancer (learner...rather LOL) and I am very interested in taking care of my knees, ankles, feet, etc. I seem to be quite injury prone and I don't want that to happen because I'm obsessed with dancing... help!?!

    • @DanceInsanity
      @DanceInsanity  5 років тому +4

      @Cassie Hello! That's a very good question!! I'll add preventative care to our idea list for future videos. In the meantime, wearing good shoes, stretching + strengthening ankles, and feet are super important. Good usage of rolling through your toes/ball heel also help cushion impact on the your ankles and knees. Use this video here for Warmup exercises you can do daily : ua-cam.com/video/avxTPPo6bfo/v-deo.html
      How often are you dancing? :))

      @@DanceInsanity Twice a week, I'd like to increase to 3xs a week in the future. I'd take lessons 1-2 times a week and dance socially 1x a week... I have some nagging issues from plantar fasciitis and anterior pelvic tilt. I really want to be proactive this time because I hope to someday dance like you!!

    • @DanceInsanity
      @DanceInsanity  5 років тому +2

      @Cassie You got the dancing bug for realz! We believe that anything with the body can be modified and corrected over time with consistent right exercises. So, the more you dance, definitely also put in good amount of time to stretch, and strengthen daily. Both things you mentioned can go away. As your body gets stronger, your dancing will too! You definitely have the right attitude and mindset! You'll be dancing for the next 150 years. ;))

    • @DanceInsanity
      @DanceInsanity  5 років тому +4

      @MelC Answer! There actually isn't much force on the armpits, if you support your own weight well. Have you hurt them before?? 😳 Usually, there is little chance they'd get hurt. They might get sweaty.. but that's a different story. :))) haha.

    Hey you guys, I just found you today and instantly subscribed. Great work. I have a question about the dip. At the school I go to, there’s a similar dip where the Follower leans back all the way, as far as possible, while still having a completely straight back and keeping the same foot position as you have in your dip. I can’t seem to lean back very low without either losing balance / hold in my feet or in my core. Any tips? I’d appreciate it!
