What I wanna know is how Rob triggered the flip from harpsicord to full-on B3 in the middle of the solo... I didn't see anything move, it was just THERE. Is this some Roland magic, and if so, is it timing, or where you're playing? It's still MUCH with the Whoa! factor, I'm just _curious_... And yeah, you people NAILED it, all youse guys.
Yes. Reminds me of when the drummer in our pick up band suggested "Tom Sawyer" which it turned out he knew completely as he had totally geeked on it as a drum student. Very likely something similar going on here.
Yep this was a challenging vocals for the "Geeks" and they passed with flying colors....Ann Marie vocals was like between Delp and Joplin with excellent pitch....Long Live Boston
In this topsy turvy mixed upside down world of crappy politics, covid, hurricanes out the wazoo, murder hornets, destructive protests, joblessness, no new movies or concerts, and the stinkin Giants beating my Eagles ...It's good to know we have Thee BAND Geeks (especially with Ann Marie) to sooth our musical soul!! Thank you Richie , Ann Marie, Andy & the whole crew! You too dad C...
I've seen so many of your covers and I've somehow missed this one -- just spectacular! As a guitar player, I've always focused on that instrument and I guess I've never seen the keyboard parts performed live. There are so many different parts and he made it look effortless. Guitars, bass... spot on as always. Brad Delp's vocal parts... good lord those are so great and Ann Marie was just killing it. Thank you so much for sharing your music!
As outstanding as Ann is with this song and every song she sings, i think the organ stood out just a little bit more on this one. Another outstanding cover song by these guys once again
Ann Marie. She's the attraction here. Sorry Richie. I could watch her sing all day. She's an awesome talent, as you all are. Love these keep them coming.
Discovering Richie Castellano in Year Two of Covid! Saw him first with Blue Oyster Cult in July, and now with Band Geeks. These guys can do it all-amazing covers!
Another great cover, kids! Kipp was right on with the hammond business! Great topper for a Monday morning! Thank you! BTW New BOC is killer. Was so ready to be disappointed, why? I can't really say, but I listen to it every morning at work as I go through my emails and such!
Holy Mackerel! That was outstanding! I really enjoy your sunday shows, Richie, but I REALLY enjoy seeing the whole group do their thing! Many thanks for all y'alls hard work!
HOLY MOLY!! That organ solo is one of the best things I've ever heard. Every bit as good as the original. The guitars... The vocals... Everything is top shelf!
That man on the organ is a BAD MAN. DAMN. And Ann Marie, you are driving me WILD with those vocals girl. Your man is a lucky LUCKY man. Another SMASH HIT by what may be the internet's best cover band.
Ohhh...sh..t ! They can play anything regardless which instrument they have in their hands for the moment! One moment, bass, next, guitar and so on...Very very talented musicians👌👌Ann Marie´s singing fits everywere!
I’ve listened to this song for my entire life. The guitar and bass riff after the first Hammond solo has always sounded like “ink a dink a bottle of ink”. You’re welcome for the earworm. 😂
This cover is truly Smokin !!! Thanks so much. This song is in my all time top favorites by any band. Brought back great memories of the time in 1980 when my friends and I were thrown out of a small bar in Lake Bonaparte NY for putting $5 in the juke box and queuing up Smokin and the Blues Brothers' Rubber Biscuit back-to-back about 10 times in row. I think we got tossed when Smokin' started playing for the 3rd time. I always wondered if they ended up unplugging the juke box.
Outstanding!!! I was a freshman in college when that record came out and have listened to it hundreds of times over the years. Great work by all, especially the keyboards. WOW!!
Another exceptional effort !!! ... I saw Boston back in '87 at the Texas Jam ... they came on after Whitesnake and Aerosmith ... general admission was $20 ... those are the days that come to mind when I hear that music today ... up the irons !!!!
Your covers are incredible. You're not a band, you're a group of musicians. The keyboardist must have started playing the piano or organ when he was 6 months old.
I bought the new Boston Album in the summer of 1976. All I have to say is that I loved your version of Smokin as much as I loved Boston's. Thankfully, I was born in 1952, so I was around at the perfect age to enjoy what is called today, Classic Rock.
When a fine rendition like this is performed, the late great Brad Delp smiles down as the performance earns him another feather in his “wings” ... glorious vocal Ann Marie, fronting top performers just as Delp did! 🤗
Ann Marie looking more like her sister than usual. Beautiful ladies with amazing voices. Please upload more songs. You folks are helping us get through the pandemic. Thank you all!
Now that was smokin! Just an absolutely incredible performance by all! Anne Marie killed it, particularly in the higher register! So thoroughly enjoyed that killer rendition! Big fan in Canada 🇨🇦
I still can't get over how Ann Marie can scream. She has pipes of which angels are jealous.
I loved watching the keyboard player. Seeing all those up-and-down swipes makes the music seem more dynamic. "OH, that's what I'm hearing!"
The fact anyone who does this song has to use a lady to emulate Brad is in itself the best tribute to Brad ever. RIP BD!
Brad had some killer pipes. clear and powerful.
I thought the organ was top dog until Ann Marie freaking DESTROYED that last verse. Wow. Amazing job Geeks.
Anne Marie has some serious range and power. Damn.
Exactly! I thought the keyboard playing was great and was ready to comment on it, and then I hear Ann Marie hit that high note. Left me stunned.
No.... While her voice was awesome....the keys still rocked
@@stonebear My hunch is he's using a pedal to trigger the patch changes
Ann Marie is SMOKIN' on this! You guys are all fantastic, but I just love her voice!
That was killer! Ann Marie's vocals and Rob's keys were magic! More Boston please!!
I second the Boston vote!
Holy sh......err, golly!
I wanna be these folks when I grow up. Hmmmm, I'm 68 now, so it better start soon 😄
Absolutely one of the best covers of that song I've ever heard..that keyboard player is awesome..
I agree!!!
I strongly suspect the keyboardist had played this a couple times before this project was brought to him. That was just *too* spot on.
Wow, do you think he might have practised? 🤔
@@tree267 Inconceivable!!!
Yes. Reminds me of when the drummer in our pick up band suggested "Tom Sawyer" which it turned out he knew completely as he had totally geeked on it as a drum student. Very likely something similar going on here.
@@tree267: And practiced also.
That roland sound is pretty universal but I agree every more was on point
Ann Marie just gives me the chills... that high note towards the end is awesome. The tone of the song is also spot on... Richie's guitar tone...magic.
Ann Marie channeling Brad perfectly. Magnifico!
Yep this was a challenging vocals for the "Geeks" and they passed with flying colors....Ann Marie vocals was like between Delp and Joplin with excellent pitch....Long Live Boston
If I could, I would give this a thousand thumbs up. Best cover of Smokin' Ann Maria hits every high note perfectly and the band kills it too.
Guitar tone is perfect.
@ Yea - for real. These guys always nail it.
The Genius of Tom Scholz and Boston performed perfectly by the Band Geeks..AWESOME
To quote the Mask, “Smokin’!!” 👍🏻💪🏻🎸🎹🥁🎸🎤🏅🤗🤙🏻🤘🏻
Brilliant from beginning to end! 💖
Yep. That was just what I needed on a Monday morning. The day will now suck less. Great job, Geeks!
Kick ass cover you were all smokin .
Backing Voc sounds HUGE!!

Dayam those HARMONIES!
Dayam those mammories
I really love the way this girl leaves a little piece of her soul in every song she sings.
Ann Marie. She's the attraction here. Sorry Richie. I could watch her sing all day. She's an awesome talent, as you all are. Love these keep them coming.
Agreed...Simply A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.!!!
WOW!
Brad Delp is irreplaceable, but a different approach (lady with an awesome voice) works well.
Congratulations.
Rob Kipp also robbed the show!
...YEAH! Frickin' Great!! 😎🏁😎🏁😎🏁
Brilliant! I love the little vocal nuances Ann Marie sneaks in that most average people would miss. But not us Geek Band fans!
Awesome job all around, but extra kudos to Ann Marie Nacchio and Rob Kipp for taking this one into interstellar overdrive!!!
ALL of you awesome as always but your keyboard player just NAILED IT!! Perfect technique and mastery-
Saw Boston in 95 and this was the encore. Outstanding!
I only saw them once - in March 1979 - during their hey day. Great show. Sammy Hagar opened.
I saw then in 1977...yes when this LP had been out a year. The opening act was Cheap Trick.
This song brings me back to 1976-1977 when Boston's debut album was hot on the billboard charts. The debut is easily a top 10 debut album of all time!
Top 1
it's got no weaknesses. an absolute epic
One of the all-time great rock albums.
DAYUUUUUUMMM Richie...! Freakin spot on...! Sounding good your guys...!
NOW we need Anns sister back in there WITH her again. Emily and ANN are a dynamic duo.
Anne Marie . . . Spectacularly stunning ! Ye made a dreich day much better in Bonnie ole Alba, U.K.
Love Ye lots. Good job lads.
🥀🎸🎸🥀
BEAUTY! - hugs, Annette!
Discovering Richie Castellano in Year Two of Covid! Saw him first with Blue Oyster Cult in July, and now with Band Geeks. These guys can do it all-amazing covers!
Just when you think these talented people can't top their last effort, they go and do just that. Bravo
Another great cover, kids! Kipp was right on with the hammond business! Great topper for a Monday morning! Thank you! BTW New BOC is killer. Was so ready to be disappointed, why? I can't really say, but I listen to it every morning at work as I go through my emails and such!
Thus is outstanding. Underrated Boston song off their debut self-titled album, all of which received significant radio airplay
Holy Mackerel! That was outstanding!
I really enjoy your sunday shows, Richie, but I REALLY enjoy seeing the whole group do their thing!
Many thanks for all y'alls hard work!

One of the best rock organ songs of all time. Everyone nailed this cover, well done
I was nineteen.........Perfect as the original......Ann Marie Nacchio .....so great singer......How can you all be so good !
I’ve listened to this song for my entire life. The guitar and bass riff after the first Hammond solo has always sounded like “ink a dink a bottle of ink”.

Absolutely Awesome!! Totally Nailed that kick-a$$ Boston song!! **Well ALRIGHT**!!
Another exceptional effort !!! ... I saw Boston back in '87 at the Texas Jam ... they came on after Whitesnake and Aerosmith ... general admission was $20 ... those are the days that come to mind when I hear that music today ... up the irons !!!!
Now you can't even get a bottle of water for $20 at a concert.
Your covers are incredible. You're not a band, you're a group of musicians. The keyboardist must have started playing the piano or organ when he was 6 months old.

Ann Marie - great trip up to the whistle register there. Outstanding!

That's such a fat gibson tone. Love it. Fun sounding and busy riff. Boston was something else
That was SMOKIN....well done guys...and girls
Rob Kipp's playing and Ann Marie's singing made my Monday.
That.......was awesome. That keyboard guy was getting a workout with all the tone switching he was doing. Top notch job on that.
Ann Marie looking more like her sister than usual. Beautiful ladies with amazing voices.
Please upload more songs. You folks are helping us get through the pandemic.

Just amazing that it takes a fabulous (female) singer to replicate Brads amazing vocals. Amazing job, Ann Marie. RIP Brad.
Get down tonight !
Great work 🙂👍
She's definitely smokin'!
Awesome cover! Miss you guys!
Now that was smokin! Just an absolutely incredible performance by all! Anne Marie killed it, particularly in the higher register! So thoroughly enjoyed that killer rendition! Big fan in Canada 🇨🇦
