- Three British men have been jailed for four years for possessing drugs in Dubai. They were arrested last summer while on holiday in the United Arab Emirates - and claim to have been tortured by police while in custody.

i used to work in dubai for 10years, the local dubai are so good people and also the police there they are all fair unless your not doing anything wrong. the main problem in dubai is some company that are bullshit one of the company give me a absconding case even they are the one who force me to sign the termination letter.
Agreed..the issue is with companies who take your passports (not all of them) and then do not honor the terms of their contracts...

Come on if you do something bad or break the law. You pay the price. Dubai is welcoming and the safest place on this earth but if you break the law then of course you will pay the price. Everyone knows right from wrong.
What about they frame you and jail innocent people.
The notion of Dubai or the UEA or the GCC countries for that matter are welcoming is a huge misconception. ‘Welcoming’ is only found at the front packet in the tourist brochure given to travelers. I’ve lived in the Middle East for the past 25 years and believe it or not they’re NOT what you seemed.
