      AKS Carnage I think he is saying that if it’s a crime in Dubai to drive dangerously that means his country people are getting away with it. Because no one is doing anything about it. They are “artists” in that it’s a common practice that people just do and no one, not the police, care to punish them for.

    I still remember my first experience with Dubai police. “I was searching a shop address at 45 degrees in the afternoon when the shops are usually closed in mina bazaar. I asked the police office sitting a big SUV with air con on. Upon asking the address he rolled down the window and said I will show it to you, he jumped out of the car walked with me for about 10 mins took me to the exact address shook my hand and walked back. It is easier to pin down a racer on a smaller city road in Japan or chase him/her down the highway. In UAE there are lots of cars on wider roads, it is harder to avoid those cars or pin someone.

    Are you joking? May be meant 200 ft. Even 100 m gap between two vehicles is way too much to expect during non-peak hours. And, during my last stay most of the cars in DXB seemed to have nothing more than 20 - 30m gap.

      They use metric system there, so he meant 200 meters, especially with crazy speed limits. And yes you need to have that to stop fully and safely. If you're driving at lower speeds so less than 200 is fine! You really have to think about it in time not in distance so you could have enough time to perceive, react and fully stop 🛑, and that is at least 3 seconds.
      Search for 3-second rule if you don't know it.

    • @user_1abc
      @user_1abc 2 роки тому +3

      @@yourfriend5144 Speed limit for most parts of UAE is 120 kmph for passenger cars and 80 kmph for commercial trucks. At that speed a vehicle would travel 100m in 3 sec. So the question of 200 m doesn't arise. If you watch the video right after that comment _(of safe distance being 200m)_ the Captain himself says that this distance is enough. And, that distance is certainly not more than 50m. Also, the rule quoted by DXB captains themselves was 2-second rule when my chauffeur was fined. A rule that's followed in most parts of Europe as well.

    • @yourfriend5144
      @yourfriend5144 2 роки тому +5

      @@user_1abc
      Well, i don't think there is a written rule about the 2-3-seconds rule, it is just a reasonable time to avoid accidents. And the 3 seconds is not only for stopping the vehicle, but rather for the time you realize that there is an obstacle then react by pressing the breaks (which could take up to one second with normal ppl, ppl with health problems would take even more) and decelerating to 0 km/h which could take even more than 2 seconds, depending on the speed and weight of the vehicle in addition to road, weather, car and driver conditions. (I think 2 seconds is more than enough to stop on Dubai roads, because there is almost no winter lol)
      The 3-second rule is also known to be followed in most of Europe especially in the winter due to icy roads, rain, snow and fog, and i know that because i live in Europe.
      So ONE more second as a buffer could save ones life. Good deal!

    4:39 Is not a violation! The line he crosses is a dashed line, so no violation! Ok, perhaps he avoided the traffic jam deliberately, but he also could have made a mistake.
    If they want this to be a violation, they have to make the line continuous (full, solid) so you have to make your lane choice earlier!
    5:05 Car is driving in the middle lane with no traffic in the most right lane! Motocycle behind him is therefore overtaking him on the right! 2 violations!
    5:08 Car on the left in the 3rd lane, should drive in the 2nd. "Our" car is going to pas him on the right: violation because this is not a taffic jam !

      You have a good point with 4:39 but I'm not sure I understand what you're saying about the other two. It's not illegal to not pass someone if you're in the left or middle lanes. Those are suggestions to keep the flow of traffic moving, but then the laws also put in speed limits.

    • @beyou7627
      @beyou7627 2 роки тому +6

      Exactly what I was thinking! Maybe the guy was not familiar with that road and waiting for indicators or for the gps to tell him. Maybe he thought there is a straight line option too. He changed the line when he saw the right arrow and the line was still discontinued which is perfectly legal according to international driving rules.
      There are roads with 3 lines to the left and ppl think there is only 2. They will stay in the queue catching the signal 3 times or more while the 3th line is always empty. You can only see it if u keep the straight line or once u reached to the green light already.
      I think this was not the best example police could give and one can easily open case in court and win.

      That's pretty BS. Tailgating and all the stuff mentioned in the video is extremely dangerous, as they said it's the first cause of accidents. Dubai I think has a pretty strong economy and I think police has nice funding (look at their cars) so collecting money is not the main priority I guess.

    4:50 what is considered an illegal lane change in Dubai? In the US if there was a solid white line then that would be illegal but I am seeing dotted white lines here. Seems to be opened for interpretation.

    • @brandonl4914
      @brandonl4914 3 роки тому +2

      Here in Ontario, lines don't really matter - they are only advisory. You can get a ticket for improper / unsafe passing, but passing on a solid isn't necessarily unsafe. Same with signals - they are only necessary if the movement could potentially affect other traffic, not when you're alone in the middle of no where.

    • @georgejones8743
      @georgejones8743 3 роки тому +1

      At that moment the driver was in a right turn lane but he rode it until last minute to pass the line and jumped in where he though he could so he could go left. Also It seemed like in the beginning the drivers they were showing were also doing the 'cut off' lane change. And not using signals.
