  • In this tutorial I'll be showing you how I animated a map roll out in one of my client works. I'll be showing you how you can use Null Objects to control multiple layers and by being clever with Masks you can create an illusion of a roll out. I'll show you how to use Trim Paths to aid in selling the effect and how you can reverse the direction of a path, a very simple but time saving trick.

Thank you for this tutorial. Absolutely great! Can you also do a tutorial on how you create those images and details on illustrator please? I am trying to really get into this type of editing and build my editing skills in motion graphics.

Nice tutorial. Just a thought we can use linear wipe instead of masking though.

@Matt Wilson just wondering if you were considering getting more into 3d within aftereffects? I find it a great asset and have actually modeled rooms completely in 2.5/3D :) keep on keepin on! great tut as usual.
    kind regards

+Danny Hengel Erm not majorly, I've played with it a few times but I'm very much a flat kind of guy! ;) I'm trying to learn Cinema 4D at the moment but it's very slow progress!

Yeah same here - I have a version at college, but I want to own a copy myself. Cinema 4D looks like an amazing asset as opposed to Maya (which I have used and don't particularly like). Let me know when you get a DL on it- I'll try to learn along with you. I have a few friends who intern studios that only exclusively use 4D so I could probably pick up some tips. Keep on doing an awesome job!

Always remember we must repent of our sins (sin is transgression The Law Of Yahuah The Father in Heaven. The Law are The Books: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers, & Deuteronomy). We must repent of our sins and Have Belief On Yahusha The Messiah. HE Died and Rose three days later so that we can be forgiven of our sins!
Come to HIM Today. Much love!
