Don't know whether its down to Abilities production or just the way Eyedea chose to write this song, but the structure and patterns of the lines is like nothing I've heard before.
The story goes, Abilities overlaid two drum tracks to syncopate into that phat back track. Eyed Mike is having fun over and around and all ways eh

Takes me back to running around with my now-deceased girlfriend shooting dope and struggling to hold shit together, which in turn all ended in disaster... although I loved her dearly the dope took her down.... i had stopped messing with that like 2 weeks before she OD'd but im an alchoholic by nature so its been a struggle..... But the moral of this monologue/comment this takes me back to that time, we were both sober for a while before that, and the whole thing was wonderful, I never experienced anything quite like it but, Nevertheless, all good things end in due time and the shadow of that life and its tragic end has been like a big heavy cumulus cloud over my life for the past year and some odd months

Eyedea does not see such patience as a virtue. A contrast is painted between an almighty beast capable of total annihilation and a cheap pirate ship that, we assume, has not much sea-worthiness. Both meet their ill-timed fate. One passively, one actively. While both are problematic for potential victims. It is only the latter that Eyedea chooses when the victim of one's potential destruction is oneself.

Reposting this comment because I think the wank twat douchewang who made the video hid it, concealing my identity. Always quiet but I know what you do! - Soulfly + I edited a bit. ^.^ Good website. I've been going through all sorts of lyric pages and they are the most corrected for all sorts of bands/musicians and people have written about lines so they are highlighted to click on for more of a understanding. Oh yeah and are you in the Rhymesayers group for facebook? I figured you are and would know about all that anyway. I find the lyric videos for Even Shadows Have Shadows funny because they always get some words wrong though it suits it sometimes and sounds like it if you don't focus lol. Big Shots was the first song I heard as a child from the Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 4 and I regret not looking up all the artists from those games although a few years ago I did but didn't stick with it as I've been into a lot of metal and dark electronic music or escaping music altogether playing video games. They have 24/7 live streams + found a band named Daughter which is cool too, kinda like Chew Lips. I got lots of music in my playlists if you want to check em out!
