  • This is honestly the most simple sourdough bread. It’s got 4 ingredients and takes time but most is hands off.
    Don’t have starter? That’s ok! It’s easy to make but we also sell it in our Etsy shop. Hit me up for a discount code. littlehillhome... use discount code UA-cam for 20% off your purchase.

    Recipe for single loaf (I doubled this to make two)
    1/2c. Starter at its peak
    1 1/4c. Warm water
    3 c. Bread flour but all purpose or wheat flour will work as well.
    1 1/2t. Salt
    Preheat oven 45 minutes before you are ready to bake and put your Dutch oven in to warm up for the full 45 minutes. You can also use a cookie sheet but you do not need to heat it up in advance.
    Bake 450 degrees
    First 20 minutes with lid. Remove lid and continue to bake for another 20-25 minutes.

    Bless you Ali for keeping it real💖✨! SO much rather try real folks recipes ( presented in an impromptu messy bun) than like a celebrity in a designer outfit & jewelry 😂. Had no idea you do one take 🤯 Respect 💖✨

    I watched you do this last night. I pulled old Lazarus out of the fridge this morning and fed the hungry fella and am making this tonight! How about you make some sourdough cinnamon rolls and video that? I did watch your cinnamon rolls you posted yesterday. I learned something from that even though I’ve made those for years. Love your vids!

    I've been making sourdough successfully for about 8 months. It took me awhile to really get the hang of it but now I have a great starter and I'm suoer proud of myself byt you have inspired me to try some ads-ins. I have some tomatoes that I can dry and I'll get some cheese. Fake cheese as my husband calls because im lactose intolerant 😢 lol, but I hope it'll still be good. Thanks for sharing!

      Glad you like it! My hubby thinks me doing UA-cam videos is a good way to document my recipes since I never make things the same way twice. I think it’s a form of creativity. 🤪

    This is a great recipe. Ext time consider heating your oven up to 200 turn it off and leave the door open and place the bowls inside.

    Hi! I followed this video and my bread came out great! My best one yet! Thank you for breaking it down so it was easy and made sense! My only question is now how do I store it? A large zip lock? I want it to stay fresh as possible…but not sure how 😩. Help ☺️

    • @LittleHillHomesteadGa
      @LittleHillHomesteadGa  Місяць тому +1

      I put it into one Ziploc and instead of stealing the other end I slide a second Ziploc over that end and leave them unzipped. It lets in just enough air for it to vent out and covers it just enough to stay fresh. We tried 1 million things in this worked by far the best.

    Question.. l'm new to this bread making.. really really new ☺️.. when you cover your dough with your cloth, is it damp or dry ?? Sorry to sound silly but it looks damp but then not really... help.. 🤭☺️

    • @LittleHillHomesteadGa
      @LittleHillHomesteadGa  Рік тому

      It is dry. Not a silly question at all! I’m here to help if you ever get stuck. I add flour on it so it won’t stick to the towel, but it is dry.

    I think I have figured it out, you feed your starter in the morning. I feed my starter at night. I will start my dough at night and finish my dough in the morning. hopefully I have enough of a sourdough flavor after 8 days. my friends don't like it too strong. So, I will be storing my starter in the fridge and feeding weekly. I'm going to feed my starter at 6pm instead of 9 pm. This way I'm not up all night doing it.

    • @LittleHillHomesteadGa
      @LittleHillHomesteadGa  2 місяці тому

      That's a great plan! I'm sure you'll get the perfect flavor. I love that you're getting it dialed in.
