That's crazy man, all that power without any of the downsides of a turbo. Not to mention this thing revs high as fuck for a traditional pushrod V8, not everyday you hear about an LS that can rev past 9k RPM haha.
Ha, 455@9200RPM? So what you saying is your peak piston speed is the same as your half mile trap? 3/4” rod bolts? 😂 Now that’s a motor to envy. 147.45 hp/liter. I want that parts list.
while im all about big bore/ short stroke , LS bore max out at 4.185" so for this to be a 450cube that stroke is around 4.125" which is long as they get besides a Oldsmobile 455 with its silly long 4.25". mean piston speed has got to be wild.
LS 7 bore spacing is 4.400" so it cant be that short even with Siamese sleeves. unless its a custom block. With a standard 454 crank throw of 4.00 and bore of 4.250 that shit would be screaming at over 110mph mid stroke. Even if it was a 4.500 bore & 3.570 or close it would still be about 98mph. My math must be wrong because I've got that piston at peak 5,840 G's. That's more than most v8 race motors.

smokey 88 you can do a budget destroker with a 4.8L Silverado bottom end and a LS3 too end, easy 650-700 hp and 9500 rpm. Torque is lower but that longer power band means in a roll it’ll kill lower revving but torquier v8’s in a roll...
Is it using a different firing order or special crank? Sounds way different than "normal" high rev OHV builds. Someone mentioned NASCAR sound but to me this sounds much different than the NASCAR engines, and NASCAR also spins 9,000+ RPM.

Beautiful piece of engineering, but I am confused why they went with so much power if it seems like he even has to demonstrate throttle control in 5th.
Dexter Sullen 'TRUTH' they will plateau eventually, and it won't be anywhere near 1100hp. There are two factors when calculating horsepower... rpm and torque. Assume they're making 600hp at 12k rpm with a 4 cylinder... that's 260 lb-ft of torque @12k. To get even 1000hp, they would either need to raise their max rpm to 20k (and maintain their torque output at that rpm), or they would need to make at LEAST 430 lb-ft of torque at 12k rpm. That's not happening from any current 4 banger or v6. Of course not all engines are going to have the same power band, but low displacement engines like v6 or I4s need revs to compensate for low torque (courtesy of low displacement), and they will never get 20k rpms.
there are many dodge, chevy and ford small blocks pushing 1100 hp. Ausi pro-stock cars are pushing 1100+hp on only 400ci at more than 10,000 rpm on small blocks.
Cars like this are the reason pushrod LS's are still made. You don't need DOHC to spin 9,500rpm or make 1,000 na horsepower. There is absolutely no reason to make a bigger, heavier, more expensive engine to do what an LS can already do.
