Thanks for sharing! I had a little more room in my garage & put the cap up on 2 saw horses (w/ 2x4's wider than the cap) in the bed of the truck. This gave me about 10 inches of room to apply the seal.
@@FamilyManCampingAdventures If you don't mind me asking, how much did it cost to get it painted? Or is that a line-X type spray? I just bought a used red topper for my silver truck lol
@ it’s almost like an industrial plasti dip product and it was sprayed with a paint gun. I had a guy out of Dallas/Ft Worth spray it for $300. It was great and was holding up very nice!
The tailgate is tough to seal, that will probably never be fully water proof. They come that way from the factory though unfortunately. That was the only area I ever had a problem with when I had a camper shell.
@ I’m thinking maybe some thicker rubber seals around that area might help. Another problem I have is keeping exhaust fumes out so I can run the truck for heat and ac.
You could try adding some type of weatherstripping where the tailgate seals, but no guarantee there. Maybe, also checking to make sure the camper shell is seated correctly on your bed? I hope you can get it sorted out. Good luck.

No problem! Glad it helped out! 👍🏻
Thank you Sir. I'm doing this job tomorrow on my truck. Now I have a game plan instead of winging it!
@@richardchapp1833 Great! Glad this video helped you out! Good luck!

ENJOYED. SHARED OUT. I STARTED IN MY SUBURBAN
Thank you, very much appreciated!
How much was the shell with all the options? Or did you install carpet and lights?
@@halfeatenwaffle3 it came with carpet and I added lights. I bought it used for 1200 and had it sprayed black.

I know it’s frustrating, but once you get it sorted out, it will be great!
