Solved: Thanks a million Spa Guy How to! I had the same issue on my Jacuzzi Magnum pool pump. It was indeed the motor back bearing spinning in the back plate. After a few years, the back plate bearing enclosure had worn down and the bearing was not sitting tight enough. The bearing itself was spinning and making an awful noise. You can check this video at 8:40, it shows what the issue is and how it can be fixed. In my case, I fitted a copper ribbon in the enclosure to tighten it and it worked! My pump is running fine again, a 20 year old pool pump!
Huge thanks to you for sharing this. My Master Spa with a Balboa pump made the same noise. I popped off the back sight-cap and used a magnet to get out a lot metal material and even a chewed up wave washer. My rear bearing outer race had spun in the housing. I skipped the part about scoring it and went straight for the JB weld approach. I thought up a neat trick to center the motor stator (shaft) inside of the housing. To get equal spacing to avoid contact or a tilted shaft. I took apart a spark plug gapper or "feeler gauge" and used the various thickness to insert in between the two in order to space them apart evenly - to center the shaft. These shims had a hole on one side, so I tied off some wire to it and that poked out of the back of the housing once assembled. This way, the motor was centered as the JB weld dried. The next day, I pulled out those shims and the shaft styed centered! Runs like a champ so far after 7 hours of heating up a fresh spa refill. Fingers crossed. Not sure how long it will last, but it was well worth the 2 hours of work.
Spa Guy How To Thanks for the heads up. How do the Jandy 2 port valves stack up in comparison? I rarely use gate valves since they’re more problems than their worth.

Great video. Gate valves are more problems than their worth. For new hot tubs or repairs I always use ball valves at all the pump and heater unions.
The reason the industry does not use them because they are much smaller inside and restrict water flow..

Very helpful video. Please confirm that there are two water pipes/outlets from the pump, yes?
What are those two small hoses that connect to the front pump for exactly?
Awesome video!
I just replaced my old power right pump with a new XP2e. Are these pumps known for this type of failure?
They are not it could be any brand..
F@#$_ Ayyyyy on those Plugs🤟🤟🤟
mine does this exact sound but not the bad song at the end
