Just got a 2012 raptor yesterday and man I love this thing ! I don’t care if it’s not as fast as the new ones because that’s what I have my corvette for
I purchased a 2012 Raptor in 2012. It's the best vehicle I have ever owned. With after market lights and a custom paint job to complement the black paint, my truck draws attention where ever it goes and strangers are always asking to take photos of it
Just bought my second Raptor. Love them. If you are pulling more than a Raptor can pull then go with a diesel. Just pulled 7800 pounds from NY to GA. Got 11.5 on the trip with no issues on power.
As a Daily Driving Raptor owner, I say go with the Raptor! The 8000lb towing is plenty for day to day towing, and having those 'off- road' shocks makes highway trips at 70+ smooth as butter! The 6.2 makes great power down low and sounds great with a set of pipes! I am still not 100% sold on a V6TT and know they EgoBoost is not the gas-saver they claim it to be (unless you keep your foot out of it, but where is the fun in NOT making boost on your Twin Turbo motor?) Great video, but go Raptor!!!
I leased a 2014 FX4 crew cab back in June. I FUCKING LOVE IT ! The salesman had to talk me into going with the 3.5L ecoboost instead of the V8. I AM SOOOOOO GLAD HE DID ! THAT LITTLE ENGINE KICKS FUCKING ASS ! I love the look of the Raptor, but I'm glad I went with the FX4.
For daily use my f150 4x4 5.4 v8 lariat does everything I need it to do. For a fun truck for the weekend I would most certainly get a raptor. This is 'merica, get both.
Josh Leviton I definitely agree, the raptor is more fun and sporty, but the F150 is more of a daily driver with better MPG and better towing capabilities (the higher tow capacity and ability to have a longer bed). Both have their limits but both are great and I would love to have them! Both great but in their own way, depending on what you wish to use the truck for.
Excellent review. I went with the FX4 based on the larger bed and price rebates. The review was very organized, I like how it was an honest comparison. There was no upsell on either over the other.
I love the raptor it has the best performance overall very fast and people respect it on the road. It is truly designed for a 6'3'' man and that is great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Very good and informative video. Thanks. I own an FX4 and would love a Raptor for the exclusivity around our town. There are lots of Ford FX4s around here, but only a couple Raptors. Then again, I couldn't ft the Raptor in my garage, it's too wide.
I have to admit, I was never a big Ford guy. I dont care much for the looks on the F150. But, my Dad bought the platinum and he dragged me down to the local Ford lot. Ford makes a great truck, with great options and your money goes a long way. The salesman was really awesome and let the truck sell itself. I really have to admit, I'm seriously debating buying one. This video was awesome and again answered a lot of my questions. Thx a lot.
They're both very nice looking trucks. I bought my truck used, a 2014, F-150, 4X4 XLT, metallic black, lifted with chrome rims and hybrid off-road tires. You can tell the difference in size from the normal FX4 trucks. My neighbor has a Raptor. His eyes just blink.
I have FX4 more than 5 yrs. His name is GRISHA (The Great). The best car for combined town & village life style. 139" -base keep the road like BMW750 as well as moving off road through the dirt, ice and snow of Siberian winter. Also I have "legendary" Explorer as long as 20 years, his name is EDDIE, he is alive and feel good. And I am happy with FX4 and Exp charisma. Definitely I love my FX4. Unfortunately I never drive Raptor. May be some later.
about 13.8 liter/100 km with 3.55 gear ratio and should get better, still breaking in the engine only 4000 km on it and i'm pretty hard on the gaz pedal
Nice Review, bottom line is the Raptor is set up for as a hard core off roading machine especially in the sand, while the FX4 is set up to drive well on the street with the abilty to do some moderate off roading when you need it too. The said many people will buy the Raptor since its just a cool vehicle even if they never really go off pavement which is kind of a wast.
The Raptor is really cool, and if I lived near the desert I'd consider it. But I'll take a standard F150 for my purposes. I'd rather have greater payload and efficiency in a truck that's still more than capable on the dirt roads and trails I occasionally take.
Raptor. Btw the Raptor is built to fly down the road or across a desert. Also the front end of the Raptor is practically indestructible to plastic, and I say that because I've actually seen a Raptor 'wreck' (more like a fender bender) with a Honda Fit and after I saw the front of the Raptor & I saw NO damage. There may have been a couple small (micro) scratches on it.
For the 4k difference, I will take the Raptor all day long. In fact, when and if i get tired of my F150 Lariat, I'll step up to one. Problem is even with 140k miles mine still is the best truck i've had. Its still tight, quiet, and smooth, and paid for...
both seem like a well built truck! I am a huge fan of ford!! but I can say my goal is to build an f150 fx4 that beats the raptor simply because I love putting the modifications on the truck myself and when building your own truck, you have the possibilities to go bigger and better than what the raptor offers you.
The Raptor also comes with a towing package which pulls my toolcat nicely. If you do ANY off roading the Raptor is well worth its salt. The Raptor is hands-down a better truck.
Why the hate towards the Ecoboost? Are guys having problems with it? With a simple tune the Ecoboost becomes quite a powerhouse, that exceeds the 6.2l in hp and torque. The fact that you can tune the Ecoboost for better driveability and performance makes it more appealing to me than the 6.2l.
I love the raptor but needed a longer bed and it was way out of my price range, I could have bought an fx4 but I ended up buying the stx sport 4x4. Totally worth it, nice 20"wheels, painted bumpers, 6.5ft bed and saved almost $10,000 over the fx4. I didn't care much about the difference in shocks and skid plates etc because I'll be lifting it later, I already leveled it 2.5"for less than $200. Only things I would have liked to have that weren't an option is the locking differential, leather seats, and projector headlights. All which I can install myself later. My truck is Tuxedo black which is a beautiful color in person expecially when the sunlight his it! I love my 2014 F-150!
i have a 2011 FX4 super crew ecoboost F-150, and i just LOVE this truck.............so do all of my friends and family.........did a few mods: AFE air intake, Heartthrob 4' cat back exhaust, livernois motorsports tuner (incl 160 thermostat).......my truck at the track (englishtown), weighs an even 6200lbs.......running mid 14's with speeds of 95 mph, and that's with pathetic reaction times around .750......... and that's with 60k miles on it......... not bragging, i actually hoped it would be faster, in the low 14's...or even high 13's...and not a 'ford guy', this is my 1st ford vehicle ever..........i like all fast street vehicles, regardless of brand........
If were to buy a truck that will last me 10+ years then I would get the raptor, its may be big and wasteful but those ford big block never let my dad down back in the 60-70's even a 351w in 80 were awesome.
Raptor Raptor Raptor. I will never abandon my love for the Ford 150 Raptor SVT. I've been a Ford fan since birth. It runs in my blood. Hopefully I will be able to afford a Raptor in my lifetime
Did he forget to mention the limited slip differential that comes stock on the Raptor? I didn't hear him mention it once, even though he brought up the rear locker in both vehicles. That's kind of a big deal
Both are great trucks that would be more than willing to tackle any task you throw at them. I personally would be happy with the FX4 simply because it has a lot of the same features as the Raptor without the giant price tag. Don't get me wrong, a Raptor is my dream truck but for everyday life, the FX4 would serve me well I'm sure
I bought the FX4,love the truck, but would have purchased the Raptor, but they don't offer much rebates. My FX4 was?$46,000 but paid only $35,000 after all the discounts
0-60 same. 800 lbs more, 7" wider than what I can already not fit into a garage or parking space, tow carry less. I would probably spice up the fx4 more and paint it orange and add 50 LED lights.
I wish I could get the FX4 with the lifted suspension and heavy duty skid plate of the raptor (and the extra auxiliary switches for winches and led lights would be nice) ..... so basicay, I prefer the FX4 because it's more customizable (except for no auxiliary switches like the raptor) and I can get a longer bed and whatever else I want, but I wanna make it a little more off-road capable like the raptor
other than that good video , very informative. I wish the raptor had a 6.5ft bed tho. You guys should campare a kind ranch with a fx4 I always wanted to know if you can upgrade the engine in the kind ranch since every one ive seen had a 5.0 V8 I wanted to see if you can get one with a 5.4 or even a 6.2??
How about a FX4 lowered by about 3"-4" with the Raptor widebody and some proper sport tuned suspension, running a more powerful version of the Ecoboost? Basically, can we PLEASE have a new SVT Lightning????
The Raptor is definitely worth the extra cost if you ask me. If I were looking for a really nice daily driver and weekend offroader. If I were looking to pull something, I would be looking for a cummins.
Hairdryer, haha. Do not believe that you could plug in anything beyond a laptop. The 110v plug will NOT run a hairdryer. Fx4 is a better choice all around unless you spend all your time offroad. Towing capacity and ride quality alone makes the FX 4 a great choice.
Fantastic review.. Awesome trucks and few vehicles make me drool as much as that Raptor.. but gawd..is it just me but once upon a time trucks were affordable..dear lord a pickup trucks now comfortably costs more than $50k just freaks me out and sends me screaming in fear back to econobox hatchbacks and lordy would I love to own an 'appropriately' loaded full sized p/up.. My apparent poverty does not take away from the fact that this review was amazing, thorough and very informative...'cept the race in the parking lot..lol.
this is a hard pick both trucks a the best. i like both but if i had to buy one truck over the other it would be the f150 fx4 its price is a little better and it has all the same thing basically as the raptor, but i love the raptors look and all the lithe extra stuff, but based on practicality the fx4 has more ways to personally connect to me like 3,000 more pounds of towing and a bigger bed for all my tools plus better gas millage. but what the hay the raptor is just amazing and if i hade the money i would buy the raptor everyday than take it to shelby to get it tuned into the shelby raptor that has over 500hp
does anyone know if you can get the up fitter switches from ford to install on your fx4? I had a 2005 f350 which didn't have them and i got a kit from ford that plugged right in because it still had the aux plug connection on the factory wiring harness. and i just needed to plug in the switches, does anyone know? please and thank you
Whats the Longevity and durability of the raptor in regards to day to day use if you're driving to work and back and doing more road trips, camping, etc.? Would the engine last for a lot of miles?
The engine that is in the Raptor is the exact same as the one you will see in the gasoline powered F250's and even the 6.2L F150s. So that engine is made to withstand some major torture..
I would... they're from same maker, near in price, and the FX4 is an off road model. The raptor may be designed for off road but I would think anyone intelligent looking at one of these, would also give a serious look at the other.
xavier wagenknecht I stand by my original statement. Both of these trucks may be competent off road, but the Raptor is nothing but a toy, where as the FX4 is a work truck that can be taken off road. Like I said, two very different purposes.
I have an 04 FX4 suits me fine so far so good with over 120k miles....I could of swore I saw a Raptor extended cab. Looks bad ass, but if I had to pick one F150, i would go with either the platinum or the king ranch edition. Raptor looks nice but it is a little impractical for every day driving, I don't need a 6.2 engine. 5.4 is plenty big. Would love to see Ford in the future make a diesel comparable to the new one dodge is coming out with. Still though, an F150 is a fantastic vehicle, even an XL model.
I have a 2007 fx4 it has the 5.4 triton i dont know the hp. But the weight is over 7000 lbs.how did the cut the weight on the newer fx4 and what is the horse power of the 5.4?????
I am guessing that you have the SCrew and the short bed so the GVWR is around 7200lbs depending on options and any modifications. The 5.4 puts out 300 hp and 365 lb-ft. of torque. They cut weight on the new F-150 by replacing the body panels with lightweight, high grade aluminum.
The fx4 is the best looking truck on te market. This is coming from someone who doesn't even own a single American vehicle I am trading my Infiniti for one. Seriously black on black with the appearance package is sex on wheels. And yes I am not towing fuck all with it I just wana truck
Just got a 2012 raptor yesterday and man I love this thing ! I don’t care if it’s not as fast as the new ones because that’s what I have my corvette for
I purchased a 2012 Raptor in 2012. It's the best vehicle I have ever owned. With after market lights and a custom paint job to complement the black paint, my truck draws attention where ever it goes and

Ford RAPTOR a Rock Star of all trucks...
As a Daily Driving Raptor owner, I say go with the Raptor!
The 8000lb towing is plenty for day to day towing, and having those 'off- road' shocks makes highway trips at 70+ smooth as butter!

Don't try talking me out of a Raptor
I leased a 2014 FX4 crew cab back in June. I FUCKING LOVE IT ! The salesman had to talk me into going with the 3.5L ecoboost instead of the V8. I AM SOOOOOO GLAD HE DID ! THAT LITTLE ENGINE KICKS FUCKING ASS ! I love the look of the Raptor, but I'm glad I went with the FX4.

Lmao. Agree %1000
random cog I wish I had a 5.0. It makes me wish I held out longer on getting my truck but for the steal I got mine at I wasn't going to pass it up.
Josh Leviton I definitely agree, the raptor is more fun and sporty, but the F150 is more of a daily driver with better MPG and better towing capabilities (the higher tow capacity and ability to have a longer bed). Excellent review. I went with the FX4 based on the larger bed and price rebates. The review was very organized, I like how it was an honest comparison. There was no upsell on either over the other.
Looked at both, bought the Raptor. It's a beast!
Excellent comparison, very professional. I currently have an F150 Lariat and I love it, I wouldn't change it unless I get the money for a Raptor.....
Good review, short sweet and simple. With that said, I would go with the Raptor. It has more balls to the gallon.
I love the raptor it has the best performance overall very fast and people respect it on the road. It is truly designed for a 6'3'' man and that is great !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I really love the Raptor grille and aggressive looks. The FX4 looks plain in comparison.
I like the SVT Raptor better because of the BFG Tires, Suspension, aux switches, and that 6.2L V8
+Dakota Maness And it looks kick-butt.
+thundersnow 463 agreed
The raptors the perfect vehicle for Zombie Apocalypse
Nah an older f150 is not a raptor in the apocalypse you need to be able to get parts good luck finding parts for a 6.2
Man... what a great comparison. Thank you for this.
Very good and informative video. Thanks. I own an FX4 and would love a Raptor for the exclusivity around our town. There are lots of Ford FX4s around here, but only a couple Raptors. Then again, I couldn't ft the Raptor in my garage, it's too wide.

Have a 12 FX4 Eco absolutely love. Since I'm towing alot the FX4 with tow package was a better choice over the Raptor.

I miss the days when the fx4 off road package meant something. Had an 02 fx4 and it actually had ground clearance.
Bought a 2014 FX4 with 5.0 3 months ago and i love it.
What kind of MPGs are you getting
about 13.8 liter/100 km with 3.55 gear ratio and should get better, still breaking in the engine only 4000 km on it and i'm pretty hard on the gaz pedal
+slspg it need too buy a truck does it tow good
With 3.55 ratio I'm good for 8000lbs. If you need more just get 4.10 ratio. No matter what brand you buy rear diff ratio makes the difference.
Raptor please!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really like The Fast Lane Truck's blue Raptor, it looks epic!!!
Raptor hands down! There are many more options on the Raptor than what was mentioned. This video seemed favorable to the FX4
Nice Review, bottom line is the Raptor is set up for as a hard core off roading machine especially in the sand, while the FX4 is set up to drive well on the street with the abilty to do some moderate off roading when you need it too. Great great review man, great job...
Thanks, now I know the Raptor is the truck for me. It has an outlet for my hairdryer!
Raptor. Btw the Raptor is built to fly down the road or across a desert. I love both raptors awesome but prices expensive. I might just end up with the fx4.
For the 4k difference, I will take the Raptor all day long. In fact, when and if i get tired of my F150 Lariat, I'll step up to one. Problem is even with 140k miles mine still is the best truck i've had. Its still tight, quiet, and smooth, and paid for...

The new F150 is just amazing. I would take both.

I just purchased a 2014 FX for eco-boost can you recommend a type of tuner I don’t know much about it
I like the practicality of the FX4 for daily driving but I would defiantly go with the SVT Raptor for offroad. I wish I could own both!!!
Raptor all the way! Great video
I love the raptor but needed a longer bed and it was way out of my price range, I could have bought an fx4 but I ended up buying the stx sport 4x4. That was a nice comparison , thanks guys
Because every man driving a truck needs to blow dry their hair inside the truck. lol Love me some Ford Trucks!
After I'm done with my ford fusion I'm getting a raptor. ...FORD POWER!!
love my fx4!! im getting 16.4 MPG
i have a 2011 FX4 super crew ecoboost F-150, and i just LOVE this truck.............so do all of my friends and family.........did a few mods: AFE air intake, Heartthrob 4' cat back exhaust, livernois motorsports tuner (incl 160 thermostat).......my truck at the track (englishtown), weighs an even 6200lbs.......running mid 14's with speeds of 95 mph, and that's with pathetic reaction times around .750.........
and that's with 60k miles on it.........
not bragging, i actually hoped it would be faster, in the low 14's...or even high 13's...and not a 'ford guy', this is my 1st ford vehicle ever..........i like all fast street vehicles, regardless of brand........
Ford Raptor!
If were to buy a truck that will last me 10+ years then I would get the raptor, its may be big and wasteful but those ford big block never let my dad down back in the 60-70's even a 351w in 80 were awesome.
Talk about a throwback 😂…still dreaming of that gen raptor
Raptor Raptor Raptor. I will never abandon my love for the Ford 150 Raptor SVT. I've been a Ford fan since birth. It runs in my blood. Hopefully I will be able to afford a Raptor in my lifetime
Love my FX4, that thing is super loaded with more than enough.
By brothers Raptor is nice but it's not a great daily.
I can almost smell the new car smell. Raptor here I come.
honestly i like the raptor over the fx4. i like the look over the fx4. and it seems more sporty and fun so to say.
Yeah amazing song and trucks. We love Raptors. Built Ford tough. Thank You so much
Did he forget to mention the limited slip differential that comes stock on the Raptor? I didn't hear him mention it once, even though he brought up the rear locker in both vehicles. That's kind of a big deal
I'll take the Raptor. Just look at it!
If I could afford the gas I would have gone with the raptor of coarse but I am really enjoying the FX 4 A lot of fun pretty damn quick handles great
In my opinion I still like the raptor more.
Raptor all the way!
Great review. Thanks!
If money wasn't an issue and I could get either one I would go with the raptor
for practicality, I'd have to go for the FX4...but I like the raptor also, they're both great in their own ways.
The raptor looks really cool, to bad the price scares me off
I have been wanting a f150
How dare you show these 2 trucks side by side, love them both. Can i trade in my 14 stx for an 17 xlt?
Both are great trucks that would be more than willing to tackle any task you throw at them. I personally would be happy with the FX4 simply because it has a lot of the same features as the Raptor without the giant price tag. Don't get me wrong, a Raptor is my dream truck but for everyday life, the FX4 would serve me well I'm sure
If I was to get a F-150 and i could chose any on the lot definitely the Raptor.
I bought the FX4,love the truck, but would have purchased the Raptor, but they don't offer much rebates. My FX4 was?$46,000 but paid only $35,000 after all the discounts
Great review i thinkmi like the raptor more better...
0-60 same. 800 lbs more, 7" wider than what I can already not fit into a garage or parking space, tow carry less.
I would probably spice up the fx4 more and paint it orange and add 50 LED lights.
All ford are awesome I'll have them both
The Raptor can fly!!! The FX4 cant.. enough said
I wish I could get the FX4 with the lifted suspension and heavy duty skid plate of the raptor (and the extra auxiliary switches for winches and led lights would be nice) ..... so basicay, I prefer the FX4 because it's more customizable (except for no auxiliary switches like the raptor) and I can get a longer bed and whatever else I want, but I wanna make it a little more off-road capable like the raptor

Actually you can get different tire`s and rims like the bead lock svt rims from factory.
Lo que no entiendo es que si es un vehiculo serio para todo terreno no lo ofrecen con cambios manuales como debe ser un buen 4x4.
Never been a fan of the raptor so Leads me to choose the FX4
How about a FX4 lowered by about 3"-4" with the Raptor widebody and some proper sport tuned suspension, running a more powerful version of the Ecoboost? Basically, can we PLEASE have a new SVT Lightning????
raptor, with the beadlock wheels (801A package) in dark red. full option plzz
white with black rims :)

I'll take the Raptor and Directions to an aftermarket transmission dealer so I can make it manual.... :)
this is a hard pick both trucks a the best. i like both but if i had to buy one truck over the other it would be the f150 fx4 its price is a little better and it has all the same thing basically as the raptor, but i love the raptors look and all the lithe extra stuff, but based on practicality the fx4 has more ways to personally connect to me like 3,000 more pounds of towing and a bigger bed for all my tools plus better gas millage. but what the hay the raptor is just amazing and if i hade the money i would buy the raptor everyday than take it to shelby to get it tuned into the shelby raptor that has over 500hp

2013 fx4 is my favorite
Whats the Longevity and durability of the raptor in regards to day to day use if you're driving to work and back and doing more road trips, camping, etc.? Would the engine last for a lot of miles?
The engine that is in the Raptor is the exact same as the one you will see in the gasoline powered F250's and even the 6.2L F150s. So that engine is made to withstand some major torture..
Ok, how would it compare to the toture tests performed on the f150 ecoboost?
so you can get a 6.2L starting in the xlt so what do you go with?
Who in their right mind would compare the two? These trucks are built for two very different purposes.
I would... they're from same maker, near in price, and the FX4 is an off road model.
I would have to chose the raptor
I have an 04 FX4 suits me fine so far so good with over 120k miles....I could of swore I saw a Raptor extended cab. Looks bad ass, but if I had to pick one F150, i would go with either the platinum or the king ranch edition. Raptor looks nice but it is a little impractical for every day driving, I don't need a 6.2 engine. 5.4 is plenty big. Would love to see Ford in the future make a diesel comparable to the new one dodge is coming out with. Still though, an F150 is a fantastic vehicle, even an XL model.
ya the platinum is my favorite out of the f150 series but i really like the fx4 as well
I bet it is, but at least you can run over all of the little foreign cars if it gets too cumbersome! :-)
Catchy isn't it? Haha. It is called World Map and is available in the UA-cam Audio Library.
Raptor is a beautiful toy. Fx4 is a beautiful work horse.
Every time I hear the chime, I think of 7/11 gas stations.
I like the Raptor, but i want it with the Ecoboost engine and E85 capabilities!
Raptor all the way, I take the Shelby variant :)
The fx4 is the best looking truck on te market. This is coming from someone who doesn't even own a single American vehicle I am trading my Infiniti for one. Seriously black on black with the appearance package is sex on wheels. And yes I am not towing fuck all with it I just wana truck
I think the front end of the fx4 looks better then the Raptor. But the Raptor looks better from the side and rear.
I went with the FX4
How is the 0-60 time the same but when you ran them head to head the raptor was ahead by almost a full length?
He wasn't brake boosting on the fx4
*****
Reaction time and/or lower gearing on the raptor.
