One of my favorite parts of the campaign is having apollyon read about the lore of for honor and giving a lot of world building, and overall, I think they did a fantastic job at voice acting and characterization on such a small part of the game and one that, in my understanding, wasn't really planned and had to be done pretty quickly.
I think the best part about the last mission for knights is that Gudmundr is consistently shown to care for his troops, and after the second duel his minions urge him to defend the grain while they defend him.
They could have at least let you pick who you play as at the end and this is just a side note but should have kensei been the main character of the samurai faction?
@@FavianResendiz-m6vthe way they do it you play as the “blank slate”. Like the warden doesn’t have a lot of character but Holden cross does. The Vikings you play as raider who basically has no lines but you got Ragnar for character . Samurai you play as the orochi but kensei is like the main character. In for honor you play as the side character. (Most of the time obviously some characters have main character elements)
In the final mission where you play as orochi and fight the warden, I think that whoever won that fight should have decided who you played. So if you lost then orochi would get knocked out or die, and warden would go on, but if you won it would go on as usual
I actually still to this day love the FH Campaign. A lot of people I know dunk on it for being basic and just “shit”. But idc, does it have to be more? I’m happy with the story and lore it’s made. It didn’t even need it. Knights v Vikings v Samurai is cool enough as is, and adding the idea that a “warmonger” is the reason for it all and just wants chaos, is cool lol.
Also while it would be nice if they updated the move sets to the current day and fixed a bunch of that. Personally it is pretty fun seeing what once was. Would defo help newer players (if there even are any still) to get a better feel for characters.
Funfact about the Peacekeeper Mission: You can just walk trough it. You dont need to fight the Patrols. (Yes i hated that Mission on Realistic and just tried that hoping it works)
I have beaten the campaign on realistic twice(once for my account and the other for my friends) and it was a major pain to do. so I wish you luck with yours
I play campaign/story mode all the time, especially when there's like a 10min left before the missions reset in multiplayer. The one thing I really miss is the creep-killing animations. Always wondered what it would've looked like for newer heroes we have--every hero since the Wu Lin patch. Wanted to see how JJ, Medjay, Pirate animations are in killing creeps. I can understand why they removed it, it became slow when clearing lanes and to compensate for the Pikemen creeps. But man I miss those animations. Another thing is I wish we have duel/elimination maps on some of the locations shown in the campaign, such as the Peacekeeper Mission, that Kensei in the Myre, we can even make the Knight's final mission into Gudmundr's stronghold as a Breach map, with a few minor adjustments and changes, it can happen It is criminally underrated and outdated the Story mode, Goobisoft pretty much ignored it ever since
They aren't ignoring it, it's already finished. Why work on something that's designed to be played at most twice? Plus the campaign works as a time capsule for what the game used to be.
@@theonlyMoancore Add more campaigns, more inclined to all the newer characters aside from the base 12; more campaigns on story mode, more rewards if completed. I already have an idea about it, make 1-3 missions where you play a character and it tells their background story. In all those 3 missions you learn the character and have a taste on how they play, you will face up in duels, in ganking situations etc. Gives people a taste of a character before they purchase them to see if it more inclines to their playstyle
@@RAPTORREX_correct me if I'm wrong but I think there was something planned for the Year 1 heroes where they each got their own mini campaign but sadly it got scrapped
People don’t give the story enough credit, it gave every update something to go off and people don’t care and I’m pissed off because of that because people don’t appreciate the dev’s work.
I actually prefer how slow the combat in campaign feels. It t feels more like an actual medieval fight with nice aesthetics. Combat today feels so rushed. Like unless you’re evenly matched, most fights end in 30 secs to a minute and I’m ngl it’s kinda lame
Tho I can’t lie slower combat felt nice. The hanky mess and clunky feeling of warden just can’t justify it lmao. The fact that old warden zone couldn’t be followed up by anything was bad game design
@@RAPTORREX_ I agree. I just think that if they kept the goods things they’ve done so far and slowed the game back down, it would be so much better. It also allow more people to get into without raging for an hour because they can’t react to 100ms attacks while thinking about whether or not the person is even going to throw said attacks.
The only thing I remember about the campaign is Mercy. To say I’m down bad would be an understatement. Joking... well, kinda. I always thought the campaign was great. To this day, I’m saddened that the story and characters presented here were mostly dropped. I’ve said many times that if I were able to, I would make a For Honor show. What I really want though, is just a deeper look into the For Honor world. I got hooked by the trailers way back in the day, then the beta and then the Story Mode on release day. I really liked the story they had set up but we never got much context on anything else going on in the world of Heathmoor. I know it’s meant to be a fighting game about all out medieval warfare but come on. It feels like there was a ton of wasted potential. most of it is. there is some problems with it that i go over
It's honestly so good. It's a shame that more people don't play it. Apollyon alone is worth going through the story at least once.
Knights and Samurai are underrated, Vikings is very mid
@@theonlyMoancore I agree, the boss for vikings was just annoying af
@@theonlyMoancore Yeah it’s very clear the devs didn’t want the Vikings to be the focus.
