  • Worked on this truck a couple days ago. replaced tge fuel pump flow control module. Truck came back the next day as a crank no start again. I try to start and it runs fine. Problem was corroded fuse 21 in fuse panel. Don't overlook the basics...

    Dude, you just earned a subscriber, here I was thinking it was a fuel pump, I got the same code that everyone does use 0109 sure enough I pulled fuse 21 and it literally crumbled. I put a brand new fuse in and it fired right up,absolutely amazing

    Thank you so much! We replaced the fuel pump and then the control module, and nothing. Your video showed me that not only is there a fuel pump fuse (20), but 21 is the fuel system control module fuse, and mine was blown. Never though to check past the actual pump fuse.

    I want to say thank you for your video. It solves my problem with my 2009 Chevy Silverado. I clean my fuel injectors and put everything back together. I only pulled the fuel pump fuse(think fuse 20). Somehow fuse 21(the same one in your video) was missing. I think my roommates were playing a joke on me or something. All I know is I never touch that fuse and it was missing. Once I swiped it out, it started right up.

    I had a no start today and had to be towed home. I got a U0190 code. I watched your video and went to check the fuse 21 under the hood and sure enough it wouldn't come out, i ended up breaking it up and pulling the pieces out. After i put a new 25 amp fuse and it start perfect. Thank you so much. Saved me hundreds in parts and programming. I can now put this truck back to work tomorrow.

    HI Phil. I had the truck down for a day with a crank, no start situation. 2012 Yukon. Didn't hear the fuel pump cut in with key so pretty much knew is was a fuel issue. I have a basic code reader and it said FPCM not communicating....too easy. My buddy is a GM tech, has been for years. He was going to come look at it this am. Anyway.....I keep watching your video and see your run into the fuse box, the mislabeling, and corroded fuse etc....I had the identical issue. Changed the fuse and back on the road. My fuse looked just like the one you pulled.
    I had spent quite a bit of time fooling with that issue and if it wasn't for your video I'd likely have changed things out as you did initially. Took me hours looking at videos before I found the guru (you) who figured it out. Subsequently, I removed every fuse and sprayed fluid film down each and every port in that fuse box. I undercoat my Yukon XL twice a year and spray up under the fuse box as I knew they had issues with corrosion. I figure this corrosion started right on top of the panel because the rest looked OK. Running down the hwy in winter and reality is that that fuse box isn't sealed. GM needs to do a better job.
    Thanks for the video.

The worker got his personal tester and found thar code. I didnt replace anything. Just happened this morning. Started up again after a few minutes. I figure it cools off and will then work. Before I did anything I always check fuses but the same thing on my truck, the relay and fuse are not where it says it is suppose to be. Would you be able to tell me where else to look or what to do next? I dont hear the fuel pump kicking on so I assume it is the module but im not sure how else to confirm.

    • @PhillipBailey
      @PhillipBailey  Рік тому

      If it has the fuel pump driver there is no fuel pump relay. You need to start with a network scan of all controllers. Make sure you have communication with the PCM, BCM, FPDM. Does the MIL illuminate with the key on? Does the tach indicate RPM while cranking? Check for spark at a couple plugs, check the fuel pump driver for corrosion. Command tge fuel pump on with a scanner and tap on the fuel tank. Good luck...

      try unplugging the main connector to the fuel pump module above the spare tire. then plug in a new fuse. if it still blows there is a short in the harness. if it doesn't then likely the fuel pump module or the fuel pump is shorted. Sometimes the housing of the FPM corrodes due to salt from the roads. check the housing.
