UA-cam has been absolute winner for us. We’ve done easily over 100k in sales off the back of our terribly produced and infrequent smartphone videos. We get calls from all over the UK and even mainland Europe asking us to design and install heating systems. It’s been so successful that we’re putting a studio together at the office and gearing up to do a proper job of it.
This is quality content you're putting out fella. I'm in a different trade and slimmed my business down to just me again a few years back. For me personally it was the best thing i could have done. The down side is that its now a business i cant step away from, but as you're showing in your videos, growing a small/medium business also leads to a similar situation where it relies on you becoming the business development manger of the company, and without you actively pushing forward with marketing and chasing of leads, work can dry up very fast!.
I’ve heard these things in a lot of business and marketing training, and they do all work, good to see you’ve invested in some business networking and training 👍🏼
Every invoice I send. I ask customers to leave me a review on google my buisness.. I only found out about Google my buisness recently and importance of reviews. Mainly since watching your channel its making me see more about advertising.. when ever I speak to other plumbers over the years they all say, "I don't advertise its all word of mouth" or "paying for advertising or paying for jobs is stupid why would I want to buy work!" So that's what I've been brought up with or hear from others.. but I don't think there is anything wrong with actively trying to bring in work, or paying for work one way or another wear that's google ads or general advertising, along as its profitable.. years ago I used lead generation sites (when they weren't flooded with engineers working for nowt) I was able to get boiler installation jobs for £5 and make £800+ profit from the job so it was a no brainer! Now the lead generation sites are getting worse... Great video as always!
£5 per boiler lead would be nice Brendan 🤯 You are doing well at 50-100 per lead now! See yourself as a marketing / advertising company that does (whatever trade / industry you are in) this will make you think differently 👊🏻
Top tips for leaflets - “10% discount with this leaflet” so more chance they’ll keep hold of it and put an expiry date to add a bit of urgency to the customer and get them booking the job asap.
In the context of this video of gaining customers quickly then it is a top tip. BG for example are constantly offering discounts for new customers. “Discounts” are a good way of adding value if done correctly.

💯 this all needs building into your offer 👊🏻
Avoid discounting but build great offers
