thank you so much. I made the witch at 16 x 23 inches. I used Stratmore Artist Paper black. It measures 19 inches x 25 inches. So I made my slicing squares 11.5 x 23.5. I was able to cut with 3 mats.... I cut my paper at 9 x 24 (2 pieces) the last piece was 8 in x 8 inches.
In the past when I have done larger than mat projects, I use black poster board so I have fewer pieces to put together.

my cut setting for cricut was heavy watercolor paper 140lb
