If you cant hear audio through your headphones then you need to hit settings then go to the hardware page and switch mk3 outputs to +phones and turn head phone volume and mic gain up 👌🏼

You can also use 1/4 TRS cables going from the output of your Maschine into your Scarlett. That way you don’t have to switch back n forth and you can always hear what you are working on

if possible, please elaborate on this. I'm using the phones out on the MK3 with a 1/4 inch cable. Audio comes through Logic Pro, so the signal is coming in and the ports are definitely working. I just can't figure out how to get Maschine to recognize the output of my monitors, while also accepting the input of my phone through the sampler. Any help here would be appreciated...

Dope af man. I’ve been sampling off my phone like crazy and correct me if I’m wrong but sampling for the audio input and normalize make them samples sound dirty and not as digital
Appreciate it man and In my experience, normalizing the audio just makes it louder and does give it a dirty sound.

@@DDS825 How you recording a live session? I use Cubase and its difficult because only when I go to record it would be recorded. But I wanne record it before I start recording... Do you know what I mean?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but as an alternative, you could also connect the audio cable coming from the phone to the Mic In input instead, which would allow you to use a single stereo 1/4" jack.

Hey man love your videos! One note - I was having issues as well, followed your video step by step.... the issue ended up being the Mic gain knob was all the way down. Once I cranked that up the levels came in. When you do this, is the mic gain knob all the way up? Just want to make sure this is right.

Solution: Thank you for the video sir. (Turn your MIC UP) If you are looking at this video and you still have the issue, DDS stated to make sure the mic is turned all the way up on the MK3. I messed around for 3 hours and still didn’t get it till i saw that message way down in the thread comments. That was my issue. Mic turned down. Thank you. Let me save y’all some scrolling.

I notice you were using a Scarlett USB interface. Seeing as the Scarlett range are a pretty basic interface, is there any reason you'd use it over Maschine's own interface? Better Latency? Better preamps?
Hey! So I was curious if you know if I would be able to sample another drum machines sounds straight into it or not. This is the closest video I have found that even is close to that & have been searching all over UA-cam video’s & comments
I’m not 100% sure. But I don’t see why you wouldn’t be if you can route the output of the drum Machine to the Maschine Mk3

Mr. D I appreciate this video very much but one thing I need to know when you sample things such as instruments and you want to put the name of the instrument down instead of having the numbers how do you go by doing
To get sound to come out my headphone (using the mk3 as an audio interface) I have to change the sound input to In 1L+R on the pad I am sampling onto. I noticed I had to to this to every pad then create a template, since there isnt and master input options to change, then save it so every time I started a new track it saved. MY issue is I notice each pad is lit, even without anything recorded onto it. Does that sound normal? Thanks for any advice you could give.
I believe you would have to just change the output. Once you save it, it should stay. Your pads could be lit because you may be in keyboard mode. But I'm not 100% sure.

Followed this video before in the past, recently just updated my firmware on the mk3 and all of a sudden there is no sound input coming in when on Detect. Followed steps accordingly, and had worked in the past but now it is not working, any one with same issue ?

I've had a few people say they had issues with it. Is your audio device set to your mk3 in the preferences?
@@DDS825Yeah It is set right. I tried it via my phone and turntable and that worked just fine. Only when I try to sample through my mac, it doesn't work
Thanks for the tutorial. Have you ever heard of, or ran into the issue with the input coming in digitally disorted? Not like its peaking but more like the driver is screwed up or something? Everything coming in no matter the volume coming in is distorted. I have yet to successfully sample directly into the maschine without this issue. Been doing it since day one and i havent gotten past it..Any suggestion? Thanks man
Usually that’s a problem with the interface, or cpu. Try a higher buffer size. I’ve had it happened before in the past with an older interface.
Thanks for this video! I'm still not getting any signal from my turntable or iphone. can it be the input settings on the setting page p1 ? ie external stereo, ext mono, internal? My device is already "MK3" .. input routings 1: L 2 R.. not sure what else to do.. it seems like it would be simple .. HELP!
UPDATE : My Daw Logic Pro X is reading the input on the mk3 which is the iphone. How can I sample directly into MK3?
Bro, Im going crazyyy.. was working perfectly off jump for me, over and over (appreciate that) suddenly all my recorded samples have ridiculous static noise.. know what this can be?

if i were to use the same exact cables that you used in this vid. on my native instruments komplete audio 6 interface... would it be able to work with my maschine mk2? it doesn't come with the line in cable ports on the back :/ but i'm just trying to sample sounds and recordings from my desktop internally using the web browser.

Hi great video thanks. Still, why my MK3 doesnt detect my iphone?, no signal appears on the screen of the MK3, I made all the setting you mentioned in the video but I can get signal to start sampling
If u use the inbuilt audio is internal sampling possible? Meaning u play some youtube tunes through the mk3 and capture that sound?

Yo DDS! Why the hell is the gain so low when using the MK3's line inputs? I'm using a line-level turntable (plenty loud enough for my MPC One)... sampling into Maschine is like 35% of the gain it should be. Any way to increase this? I'm using the same exact cable you are (1/8" to dual 1/4" - an insert cable). From the phone, it's fine. Turntable... trash level. I can't believe there's so little info about this. Thanks man!
yo thanks but im looking for a way to sample into the Mk3 whilst using a DAW.
the only way i can record into the maschine is if i use the Maschine software standalone because whilst in a DAW the audio devices in maschine software cant be accessed. so frustrating

Once I sample from the turntable into the maschine, is there a way I can turn the sample file into a wav file? it saves as a mxsnd file.
You can right-click on it and go to save as. Or you can click the wave icon on the right-hand side of the screen and drag it out to your desktop or something.

Is it normal that the input gain knob has to be all the way up to be able to hear it well? I’m not using an interface just the maschine plus and some headphones with monitoring. The headphone volume is half way and the line input is cranked all the way up to make the sound a normal volume .
hoi have a komplete Audio 6 sound card ... can I record it to Maschine from that ?? e.g I am playing Spotify and want to record a track from there can i record direct to Maschine mk3 ... pretty similar to what you have done except used your phone a directly connected to Maschine
The only options im getting in audio are input routings internalL and internalR, im using a maschine plus, but that shouldnt matter right?
is your mk3 running to your scarlett (as an input) before computer? and if so , why not just usb? thnx

I’ve tried so many time over three days to get input to go to Maschine and frustrated, still no joy, linked to Mac and standalone Maschine software ( not daw)....head banging...also tried direct from helix, and other devices , still won’t show any input. Maybe it’s broken...only had this 1 week.
I'm still having trouble with my mk3 line in on windows. Every connection works even the microphone but I still can't record samples through my line in.. I'm able to record through my microphone input but that's it.. wonder if it's my cable or if there is a problem with my mk3..😭
I will try to contact native instruments..
