One of the best tutorials I have seen for Maschine MK3.
You really do cut to the nitty grittty basics. No showing off, Step by step. I really appreciate your style
I've learnt more on this channel than anywhere else.
I like your pace and the way you deliberately use your fingers to clearly indicate what your pressing while saying the name. Easy to follow and I never have to pause rewind to figure out what you just did. Thanks for the Maschine tuts!
This is the best one out there for machina mark III ..bar none.
Trust me, we've seen em. All
Wow this is the first Machine+ Video that was helpful. Thanks for keeping the focus on the screen and moving step by step in the most organized fashion. I almost gave up on this machine until this video. Many thanks! Now would love to see a video that builds on this one.
Amazing tutorial, thank you! The fastest way to start using the Maschine Mk3!
This is a perfect beginners guide! Straight forward - easy to understand - no distractions
Very useful tips, thank you!
so useful and straight to the point! many thanks!
You couldn’t have made this tutorial any easier. Straight to the point easy to follow along with. You’re a lifesaver. Thank you again!!
This was VERY helpful. Cheers for Georgia.
Perfect, what I’ve been looking for
This is the best tutorial for arranging on the device! So much fun when the workflow suddenly falls into place and it did thanks to this. Cheers!
Thank You very much! It‘s a really good tutorial! 🙏🙋♂️
Really enjoy watching your videos! Makes me appreciate my MK3 much more!
Glad you like them!
This was the MOST HELPFUL walkthrough of the MK3 I've seen! Most people just show you how THEY make beats super fast but don't explain in detail the thought process behind each instrument and how to arrange everything...man...amazing vid!
Clear and well paced. Great stuff.👍
Thank you so much for making this so clear and approachable. You have the knack for teaching others for sure. Salute!
Very nice and clean explanation of basic building blocks for the Maschine. Thank you very much for creating and sharing this :)
Thank you 🙏🏾
Great information in this video. Thank you so much !!
Golden tutorial. Had so much fun with my maschine! thanks
Really well presented. Very clear and easy to follow. My only complaint is that I’ve got the Mk2 hardware and now I’m desperate to have the Mk3! Having the extr functionality and those 2 big colour screens looks to aid workflow a lot. I’ll keep the Mk2 and use in as a controller in Cubase using midi remote. Just need to wait and see if the Mk3 pops up in a sale later in the year while I save my pennies. Thanks for your work on these videos. I’ll be checking out done if your others. Much appreciated.
Your tutorials are amazingly clear and you're a great teacher and communicator, thank you
BRILLIANT! Question, is it possible to have patterns with different tempos?
Really helpful video, very easy to follow, thanks :)
You're welcome!
Cool tune 🤘
Thanks
Thanks nice and clear great work. Much appreciated.
Hi... ive bought the Komplete Kontrol MK2 S49 and im starting to wonder if i have done the right thing... but ive seen people using Maschine MK3 and KK MK2 S49 together.?... what do you think is easier for someone who hasnt used either before
Hey!
Do you have a video working with one-shots? One i press the one shot they overlap. - wanna hear your take one it
How do I use pre recorded drums and samples for my own project
would you be interested in individual lessons?
I just watched 20 minutes straight of a video with no multiple angles, endless jumping and cutting or someone try to sell me Distrokid, and it was extremely clear and easy to follow. Quality content right here, you are a natural teacher 🙌 subbed
Other than making us worry that you might slip and fall into RED HOT LAVA, this is perfect. Thank you! 🌋
Man, thanks so much for these, this stuff is FINALLY starting to click!!
Absolutely love the vids but they should be in some sort of order from the start of your absolutely beginners vid. don't know where I'm coming from or going to after this vid. thank you.......you are great, clear, and slow enough to understand and follow along.
Really helpful, Im a fairly new owner of Maschine Mk3 + S88 awesome controllers with second to none library’s of quality sound. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Looking fwd to next video.👍
I’m so glad I found this. 4 years ago I bought my MK3, and couldn’t find any tutorials. It was hard for me, as it was my first daw experience. Sad to say that the first time I gave up, and it sat for 2 years. Finally some better tutorials are out including NI’s own. These helped me to at least try again w my mk3. But your videos are what I was searching for when I first bought it. Super simple, and easy, and not rushed. Really friggen great set of videos.
This is better than the paid course I was taking! You’ve got something here, if you want to take it further.
There's quite a few paid courses out there, are they all really not that great? I've had my mk3 goin on 2 years in the fall, and there's STILL stuff I don't know how to do!! Kinda disconcerting
@@klaytonvonkluge4905 No, they're fine. There's just something about the way Doug does it that resonates. Maybe the context of doing a song, rather than just going through the interface. I learn by doing, so I really like step-by-step tutorials.
@@afmfintech same, I GOTTA have step by step, or I'm lost ... see, I got a new iPad last oct, and discovered "GarageBand", so, it kinda put my Mk3 on the back burner, GarageBand is so intuitive and user friendly... but I'm gonna endeavor to persevere over this Mk3, if it kills me! haha..... or, I'll be selling it on eBay and getting some stuff for my dslr 😁🤣😂
Love and enjoyed how you explain over and over again, and repeat what you say- I am going to keep watching until I get it 😊- hope to catch up with you,,,Very nice explanation…….
THANK YOU! Clear as day. Brilliant.
GOtDaM that was incredibly helpful man. Cheers!
GREAT VIDEO!!!!! I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS HELP.... PERFECT. THANKS FOR EXPLAINING IN STEP BY STEP DETAIL...
Frankly great, I managed to do it, thank you
we will have to remember it and practice now but it's normal, on the other hand a stupid question can be: at the end is it possible to play the scenes in a row automatically as a whole song in a way
Yes, there is a way to creat songs, that will be another tutorial
@@TheSoundTestRoom Too cool thank you again
Thanks from Italy i can understand everything really well done ;) Great
Another smashingly useful tutorial. Put these into a Teachable course and you'll make a fortune! There are now tons of us hanging on waiting for the next tutorial!
Can you do a maschine mk3 series on how to use everything like in episodes I love your videos I'm a fan and I learn so much from you
This is the clearest explanation I found on the internet so far,,,,,,,,gold ma man
Thank you, that’s very kind of you to say 👍😊
you are the best, not even de native instruments tutorials que macth you , thank you very much
I'm a complete beginner...and i understood everything ;) Thx!
Initially your videos seemed very quick and not very helpful for someone like myself that has been working with the MPC for the past 30 years. BUT after having calmer mind, I was able to finally receive this info clearer. Thank you VERY much for your help and I will be watching your other videos.
New User From Italy, You are the best Machine Teacher I have ever met on UA-cam... Perfect!!!!👏👏👏👏
Thank you
Geeeeza we need more People like you man.
You slow down on the important bits whereas other people just skim quickly over stuff that leaves you just straight up angry as you know your gonna have to find a howl nother video or message people to get the I information concise and clear.
Big respect and ting.
Just got a second hand push 2 and feel in love with this way of working but the buttons especially in the drum sequencer mode are just stupidly hard to push, plus I have all the NI software soo be it on!!
Thanks again man
Thanks for de-mystifying this thing for me haha. Yeah it's easy when you know how! Awesome tutorials. 👍👍
Happy to help!
Mate, this is brilliant! Just got my new Plus, this may be the most insightful tutorial I've seen so far. Thank you
Edit - reading through other people's posts I see I've said nothing new 😅 Doesn't matter. It means this is very helpful to all
The best tutorial with gear I ever seen.. Thank you so much! Wish you good luck! Stay healthy!
Please make some more... I am beginner, i was searching and watching so many videos and no-one gave me understanding- only you! Thank you!❤️🙏🏻
There is a link at then of the video to more, I have nine so far, just search The Sound Test Room Maschine MK3
Great video , thanks for making and sharing 👌🏼
Peace to you and a big shout out! I am new to Maschine. As an MPC and SP1200 guy this was very helpful. Simple and to the point and I like that you used only the MK3 because I have the Maschine Plus and it is almost an identical process. Thanks again.
Here's a great video idea for you: Making Brian Eno aleatoric (random probabilities) ambient music in Maschine. There is very little in this genre for this software compared to other DAWs and it actually lends itself wonderfully for it. PLUS a great angle is making it with pattern mode vs clip (and both together) as both have their plus and minus for this genre (e.g. sustained (held) notes at the end of a clip dont carry over to the beginning of the clip - in patterns they do so great for continues drones). But there are work around in clips to do that of course. Having empty space at the end of 15 bar pattern, for example, can create the same quality as clips mode as far as a linear quality of parts lining up in different places and coming in and out at various times in a compostition. etc etc. :)
Wow!! Light bulb moment. Just got my Mk3 today. Made a killer beat already playing around. I was wondering how I could change the arrangement around. Amazing video!!!
Brilliant video, thanks so much
Thank you so much for working on the hardware. Please tag this up as suitable for Maschine + until you get into arranger.
So well presented.
I don’t even have a machine and yet I sit and watch the tutorial lol
This is great, Doug. As much as I enjoy the boom bap tutorials, Maschine shines when it’s used to arrange a whole song, and there’s not so much on UA-cam covering the process. Will keep watching you, Jeff Gibbons, and Blezzbeats. Most fun I’ve had with a piece of gear for years, and I’ve only just got started. Keep on keeping on!
Great video thanks for sharing!
One question, how do you duplicate scenes + patterns so the patterns can be changed but not saved in ideas view as well? I’ve seen it done on the older Maschine but can’t find a way to in the mk3
Thx bro i got the mashine mikro but this definitely helps, saved video in my favorites
Awesome infomation...I LIKE!!!
Thank you this has helped me tons on the Maschine Plus - Your strait forward and make things simplified 🙏🏽
Love your videos very helpful and in a fun way, is right kid!
You make it so easy to follow. I've a question, See when you went into the keyboard mode for the bassline, and the keys showed up on the display, @9:51 three pads were highlighted on the screen...what does that mean?
Wow, this is such a great way to break this structure down!
Please keep making these videos ! 🙏
Thanks Doug for a really helpful video. This is the best video I have found that explains the relationship between Scenes, Groups, and Patterns.
Thanks Bill, I'm really pleased you found it helpful :)
MORE!!!! And thanks!
👍👍 great work very helpful and nicely explained
Nice , big help how would i record it all down to one
Here is the link to my video explaining and showing you exactly how to do that too👍😊

Best Maschine tutorial for a beginner like me ever, so logical and thorough. look forward to song mode one. 🙂
Thanks so much. Just starting on the MK3 and this was so helpful
This was really helpful!!
this is very clear and helpful. Haven't made the jump to maschine yet, but this definitely shows the smooth workflow....
Great stuff la. Thanks.
Awesome tutorial, have watched a few others and this one walks the beginner through in easy steps. Thank you!
As others have said, this is a good video for people like me who have just got a Maschine and are trying to understand the basic structure and workflow of the system. It is absolutely one of the best I have found so far on the subject
Having spent 20 years my working life writing and delivering demonstrations and tutorials of creative software for major software companies including a certain fruit named colossus, I appreciate what goes into producing a video like this.
Maschine looks to be incredibly powerful tool, but getting ones head around the basic logic and terminology can be a bit of a head scratcher. It's my experience that software with its roots in Germany has a different feel than from other parts of the world.
If I had a criticism of your presentation as it stands, it would be to cut out the little asides and diversions and to keep focussed on the matter on hand. I would also rehearse my button presses more before committing to a final recording, or edit out miss pressed buttons etc.
I like your vocal delivery and the overall way you have structured the tutorial, just think it needs a bit of a polish in the post production, some judicious editing, and maybe including some close ups and or graphics/call outs. I understand that this takes more time and effort, sometimes a lot more, and obviously that's your call. I absolutely appreciate your generosity in sharing your knowledge/experience.
Keep up the good work and look forward to many more tutorials in the future. I have liked and subscribed
Excellent - thanks for this! I hope this series continues.
More to come!
Thank you so much for this! Outstanding tutorial.
very clean! Thanks!
this vedeo was really helpful. thumbs up from me.
Great! Clear sounding voice, well spoken so even I can understand! I definitely Abo your Tutorials, very helpful AND easy to follow. Hopefully i can find more of these!
Very smooth teacher. Looking forward to checking out your other tutorials. Extremely helpful💯🙌🏽
I like the way this guy takes his time and teach you how to do it and not teach the way he do it
This is nice. Greetings from germany
Thank you very much!
Great tutorial!!!💕 Is there any way that you could get the machine to automatically play the patterns you give it without having to manually press the button?
Yes, you can, it’s much easier to that in the actual software, I will be covering that in a tutorial very soon
@@TheSoundTestRoom Awesome, can’t wait for the new tutorial!✨
This is a GREAT tutorial - thanks!
Thank a ton. Now i can start. :)
I watched this twice it's so fking good
Another excellent tutorial.
Amazing explanation and perfect flow troughout the whole video. So constructive and so clear.
Your tutorials are AMAZING!
They are even a bit ASMR triggering haha. You got a relaxing voice, and cool accent.
Thanks for these man! Really helps me out and i'm having a great time learning about my hardware!!!! Thank you!
Thank you! Great tutorial.
simple, easy to understand and follow. great beginners + guide. thank you.
This is so helpful. Thank you !!!
Great conversational approach and natural teaching style, makes it really nice to follow, thank you!
It changes pattern immediately which I dont like. It should be better to keep playing the entire pattern until complete the whole bar then shift other triggered pattern like MC707
Hold down the Shift Button then press the button above that says FOLLOW (Grid). Here you can select how the scenes change, just Select the Scene option and it will change at the end of each Scene, hope that helps😊👍
@@TheSoundTestRoom great. Thanks bro. Of course it helped 😊
