Honestly, TAGAY is not the actual Tagalog translation for CHEERS or KAMPAI (simply just use the word Cheers or Kampai). Tagay connotes (to command or request) that you should pour a drink in a glass and pass the glass around for others to drink. It is usually use among group of friends using only one drinking glass wherein the beer or wine or liquor is poured. We/They use only one drinking glass so everyone will have his turn to drink, and everyone will drink equally. To be fair. In cases where everyone has his/her own glass of beer, some will play it safe and take his/her drink very slowly whereas some have already consumed 2-3 bottles of beer the other one have 1 bottle that took him/her an hour or two to finished.

First time watching Jessica's vlog and I thoroughly enjoyed it - it was so entertaining and funny! Love Jessica's obsession with mangoes! I totally get her because Philippine mango is definitely the best in the world! From what I remember, we used the word 'tagay' when we are passing on a shot, usually a shared shot glass within a group of friends. If we want to toast and say "Cheers!" we say, "Kampay!" (similar to the Japanese "kanpai!").

Jessica... u look like Kim Go Eun. My fav. South Korean Actress. and love Sylvia Kim vibes.... happy go luck. The chemistry between both of you really blend. Hopefully will see u both collaborate.
PROTIP for mango eating cause I used to eat it like this in our province. You get a whole mango and peel the the top of it to make a small hole. You eat the visible pulp on that hole then you roll the mango between your palms. The pulp inside will get crushed then you start eating it through the small hole you made.
“Tagay hanggang mamatay” means Alcohol is life, and we will drink and celebrate until we get’s old and die. Not literally drinking in one sitting until death😄 that most drunkards do. That is why there is a guideline written in bottles of alcohol “Drink moderately” that most drunkards never know and ignore. In result they walk 5 feet on the road, includes their hands and faces.😂 Actually, in the ditch not on the road😂
You two look good together on collab. Make it regular and i think more people will love you. I personally enjoy watching both of you embrassing and loving our culture. Thank you jess and sylv. More more subscribers! Try mukbang again soon!

Oof.. you just reminded me of my ex korean gf, she was also allergic to mango seeds which I thought was very unusual, but now that I know you also have this kind of allergy, perhaps it isn’t so unusual as I thought it was. 😂
If there is one thing that anyone should know when they're going to the Philippines is that; they should be prepared if they plan on drinking with the locals. We drink, a lot. A whole fucking lot. Beer is usually just for "washing", meaning, we have a main course, usually some hard liquor, then we wash it down after with a lot of beer after. Drinking sessions can get out of hand easily lol.

I learned this "akkapda" word today and its literally means "sayang" in tagalog, thanks to mango master and to alcohol master😂
Yes but it is still in the dictionary form 아깝다 "akkapda"
Hmm. There are 3 actually, and each used depending on the nuance of the situtation → 아깝다 (까비), 아쉽다, and 안타깝다.
When you conjugate 아깝다 it will become 아까워 in verb conjugation but if its in adjective it will become 아까운.

“TAGAY HANGGANG MAMATAY” -- (LET’S DRINK TILL WE DIE”🤣🤣🤣)
Has it really been that long since idol school? Jessica is old enough to drink alcohol now hahahaha. Time sure flies by.

i didn’t know there was a word in korean that means the same thing as sayang,, gonna have to add that to my korean vocabulary!
Jessica... u look like Kim Go Eun.
I was laughing so hard when she said, "tagay! hanggang mamatay!" HAHSHAHAHAHABAHABABAH
mangoes kept on coming out throughout the whole video 😂
“Tagay hanggang mamatay” means Alcohol is life, and we will drink and celebrate until we get’s old and die. Not literally drinking in one sitting until death😄 that most drunkards do. That is why there is a guideline written in bottles of alcohol “Drink moderately” that most drunkards never know and ignore. In result they walk 5 feet on the road, includes their hands and faces.😂 Actually, in the ditch not on the road😂
No... The literal translation of that is "drink till we're dead" that's it. No more no less. LoL
Sylvia is a true blood TUMADOR. Hahaha, loved how she said “TAGAY HANGGANG MAMATAY”

Oof.. you just reminded me of my ex korean gf, she was also allergic to mango seeds which I thought was very unusual, but now that I know you also have this kind of allergy, perhaps it isn’t so unusual as I thought it was. 😂

Light it up like a Dynamite woah~~
Ahaha, Sylvia so much fun to watch as how she uttered " tagay hanggang mamatay" the common saying of mostly beer drinker in PH. @@
I’m literally like turned 18 last April and still not allowed to drink even the SAN MIG LIGHT!!!😂 My “kuya” warned me that he would definitely break my bones HAHAHAHA. But well, TAGAY HANGGANG MAMATAY to the both of you😂😂✨
Is it safe to say that Sylvia Kim is a confirmed "Filipinoboo" Or "Fiboo"?
Nu sa tingin nyo? XDD
Ano meaning nyan?
"tagay hanggang mamatay" while a Filipino expression, was a direct reference to another Korean blogger, Mr. Bulbul. He loved that expression haha.
Saw this on my recommended vids. It made me curious so I clicked on it thinking “Well, let’s see. I’ll watch it for a minute then maybe continue watching music vids again.” But, hey! I was smiling the whole time watching this until it gets to the end of the video. 😂 Good to see you guys loving the PH vibe in Korea. Ang galing!
