  • Just like Deputy Speaker and Antique’s Congresswoman Loren Legarda’s story, sometimes the thing that we thought we are supposed to do is the thing that will actually lead us to what we are called to do. Pursuing her passion led her to her real calling in life.

You know why Loren is always excited in telling her stories? Because she has a grateful heart which equates to increased happiness. ❤️ You can really see on her smiles and facial expressions. When passion and potential combines, that’s the time you can do so many amazing things. I am glad I have finished this 33-minute video. Inspiring, uplifting and an eye-opening story.

The "NANAY" she mentioned mostly in this interview was actually her Ilocana yaya. The way she described her relationship and how grateful she is to her Nanay is really heartwarming. All this time, I thought her "nanay" is her lola. Nowadays, it's rare to see this kind of relationship. A grateful Ms. Loren and a loving, devoted nanay. You're such an inspiration, Ms. Loren. 🤍
Thanks again for another lovely content, Ms. Toni!❤️

I am who I am because of that “Ilocana”. To me, this is an inspiring statement. Someone told me once, “ ILOCANA LANG YAN.” I was belittled because I am an Ilocana. Ang Hindi nila alam, Ilocanas truly portrays the very essence of a woman - resilient and powerful! Loren Legarda is not just beautiful. She’s intelligent and most of all, she has a grateful heart. When you are grateful, you will always look on the beautiful side of life... and to me, that’s HAPPINESS. Thank you for this interview Toni. ❤️

This is one of the best interviews done by Toni. I was born in the '80s and was one of those kids who admired and dreamt of becoming a journalist like Loren Legarda. I enjoyed listening to her stories, her journey from a model to a journalist to a public servant, that I didn't want this video to end. For a 33-minute interview, I felt like it was still short. Hahaha. That's how I enjoyed this talk.

I am not the type of person who would leave comments in public pages or vlogs like this to appreciate people. But as an Antiqueno who was able to work with and personally know Deputy Speaker Loren Legarda, I am aware how she has made an impact in the country not only as a journalist, but as a public servant. I admire how she chose to become an environmental advocate even before this became popular in the country, and despite lack of massive public support for this advocacy (obviously because environment cannot speak). More than this, her significant contribution to our province made me admire her more. She is a leader and friend who would always find a way to provide a solution to a problem true to what she said in the interview. Not everyone may know about this, but she simply makes things happen. The Vilvar Bridge in San Remigio, Antique which she funded and now being constructed, is a huge example. I remember how our teachers would take the pictures of us young pitiful grade school pupils near the river in the 90s. They sent these pictures to the then Presidents and various leaders of the country, hoping that they would notice us and take action to have the bridge and dike constructed, as the floods during rainy season claimed many lives and continued and still continue to pose dangers to residents in the old town. Poor students would still risk taking bancas to cross overflowing and muddy river. Unfortunately, none took the cudgel for us. What happened to my family -- losing my mother and older brother during Typhoon Frank already served as a wake-up call, and I am grateful that former Senator Loren Legarda (when she was given the power to do it) was the first one to answer the call without any hesitation. This perennial problem in my hometown will soon end because of the bridge that she funded. Actually, she did more. Who would not love and admire her?

After all these years, you would know that her dream is still sparking inspiration into her soul and she is still in love with it. It still excites, challenges and motivates her to move forward. It is so refreshing to see that. To see someone live every day of their lives craving and aiming for her dreams. It is refreshing to see that joyful and lively glint in her eyes. Something I wish we can all have :).. Will continue to watch this on my my worst days whenever I feel unmotivated, down and uninspired. Thank you Ms. Toni. I was delighted to see one of my idols after decades of not seeing/heard from her on TV. She gained a little bit but she still looks Bongacious and classy. Whatever and however, she’s still my idol. Smart and diligent. Down to earth. Godspeed…….
