One thing I can't stand is the instinct of nintendo fans to come to the defense saying "it's within their legal rights" to make the competitive smash scene and nintendo content creator's life a living hell when their actions harm their reputation, don't benefit them financially and don't protect anything since they are not producing a lot of the old products that people want to play.
Nobody is arguing that’s illegal either, which is why those folks miss the point. Just because you have the legal right to do something, doesn’t mean its the right thing to do.

On the subject of forced labor there are worthwhile articles, including by the Human Rights Watch, that state the issue with foreign companies and their auditing procedure. Primarily, there is nothing stopping these factories or sweatshops from hiding children during an investigation into child labor. Same can go for other violations, like forced labor, since the management knows in advance how and when there will be an investigation. The conclusion to be drawn here is that the parent companies' investigation is not to probe deep and find the truth. It is to offer plausible denial. "Not on my watch" really means "as long as we dont see it when the boys come through, it's not our responsibility." This puts the burden of proof on the bolder sort of journalist who will risk - potentially their life - to expose a problem that we know exists in the first place, and we can only get a glimpse of its prevalence. In other words, assume its everpresent in production in underdeveloped sections of the world. And you'd also be right to assume that enterprises of these larger countries that own these factories wont truly investigate the problem unless there is a risk of a PR disaster.

Why is this a shock? Nintendo the corporation has always been cutthroat and ruthless against anyone that opposes them. They have been like this since the 80s. I learned a long time ago to separate Nintendo the game developer and publisher from Nintendo the corporation.
I've been a Nintendo fan since 1988. I've been so disappointed in this company since the Wii. I'll buy Switch 2 games used and emulate them on a small living room PC. Nintendo need a Wii U so they can become humble and innovated again.
Sadly this is nothing new. Development wise nintendo has progressed far but business wise well nintendo hasnt survived for over 100 years while many of their business counterparts have fallen for a good reason.
To us its nasty practice. To them its just doing business in an ever competitive environment. Like every big corporation. Nintendo is a corporation. So what theyre doing in the end is nothing new

But as we all know generiousity doesnt actually exist in the real sense when running any kind of business.
@@simonchai3040 It's not some secret info only they have access to nor is it essential for their long term survival to not sell their own goods and services in the age of digital distribution. Its bad and lazy business, like a supermarket that buys stock just to let it rot in a warehouse because they make enough money selling other goods to not have to care about the waste. Nintendo is currently big enough that they can run their monolithic business with free money left on the table with little care or concern. This wasnt the case for the vast majority of their 140y history in case you didnt know.
Its weird but this is like the 10th instance this week of me seeing this phenomenon of "well they're doing it so it must be something they HAVE to do" despite evidence to the contrary (for several unrelated topics). Nintendo's practices arent always in anyones best interest in the long run, even their own (see the Wii U era and their decisions during that time, including their old UA-cam policy). Their general mindset tends to be "pushing for more control is better" but, as history has shown, that's not always the case.
Sold my Switch for the Steam Deck and likely not looking back. Yuzu is getting multiplayer compatibility and that will be really nice for emulated switch games. Nintendo doesn't deserve the benefit of a piracy moral compass for how much they rely on the same Switch goalposts since 2018 "wait for NSO update, wait for BoTW 2, wait for switch pro, dont sell switch online is great", keep eshop prices at 60$ from 2016/17, the limited mario anniversary DIGITAL launch, etc. Would recommend saving your $300 or $349 for a Steam Deck that's capable of much more.

One thing that astounds me the most about Nintendo is how much they can actually get away with their failures and bad business practices. They can do everything as mentioned in this video, while also having a couple hardware flops along the way (Virtual Boy, Wii U, etc.), and it feels like for the most part people will go, "eh, whatever" in a week or two. However, if a company like Sega makes their own mistakes (which, Sega surely has), they'll get lambasted *10 times harder* by the general public. The problem is, Nintendo can afford terrible unethical decision-making because they have the *most memorable* video game franchises of all time, paired with some of the *best* game development talent on their team. So even if Nintendo does something incredibly evil that hurts their PR, they can announce some new big game during one of their Nintendo Directs and people will just eat it up, because of its cute, colorful art style and amazing gameplay. As long as people continue supporting those games, they're unfortunately also supporting bad business practices-- and it's making them money, so they can care less. Nintendo will never have a "lesson to learn", because they're not getting any serious repercussions for their actions. It's been very confusing to discern what I should do about Nintendo as a consumer. I want to support good games and the developers making those games, but I *don't* want to support a bad company. I think when we hear more about the Switch 2, that may be the turning point for me whether I stop supporting them completely or not.
I'm really curious now after watching a couple of these kinds of videos on Nintendo, does Nintendo of Japan operate/think in similar/same ways as Nintendo of America does? How does Nintendo of Japan think of emulators and roms? Are there cease and desist letters being sent to Japanese citizens over some issue? Actually, now that I think about it, I do remember one thing that happened in Japan, had to do with Go-Karts and using Nintendo like something or another that forced them to change the name of the whole thing. So perhaps they are😬

I work at a game store. It is very easy to see that the general good-will toward Nintendo has dwindled. Especially with Tears of the Kingdom being $70. I've seen many of my customers hesitant to pre-order any AAA Nintendo game out of fear due to lack of polish/content from previous titles Nintendo has released recently.
Nintendo fell off ever since they started cracking down on Project M. That and shutting down melee tournaments. After that, they just suck now. The games are good, but their practices are reprehensible for how family friendly and open they seem. They do literal mafioso tactics to take down fangames. If its getting to that point, I think we need to scale it back and think: Seems like overkill for a fangame. You know, a game made by a fan that is most commonly non-profit? I think that deserves scrutiny regardless of how good their games are. But knowing how there are actual brainlets who still buy Madden every year, I majorly doubt consumers will stop buying Nintendo games en masse anytime soon. This will keep going until the money stops flowing. Stop giving them money, and they will start to listen. You take away their power, and they are about as beneath us as the average joe. Do what you must boys. #NintendNO
yes, I buy games on switch. but they're all 3rd party now except kirby (which can count as 2nd party. nintendo publishes and has partial ownership, HAL develops and also has ownership). but I only do so for the devs so their hard work isn't wasted.
@@turretboi Sure but like, we gotta let them know their shady practices aint going unnoticed, and the way to do that? Stop buying their stuff. If enough people can do it, they will have minimal choice but to comply. Notice how they stopped their lootboxes after it couldnt be played in Belgium due to laws? Thats clearly to keep the money coming, not really to allow accesibility to em. That tells me they will listen if the money is on the line. So really, that makes the play obvious: Dont buy their shizz. Dont buy Nintendo Online, their merch, their games or their consoles. If a mass group can do that, it will be felt by them. Words do nothing, but actions do.
it may work in the USA. but good luck persuading those in Japan where they have fans of immense stronghold. Don't forget that most of their culture is group harmony centric. Not individual centric. Persuade the group, you got a better shot at potential change in culture movements.
It's refreshing to finally see people call this shit out. Somewhere between buying an e-reader and the release of the Wii U I started being way more critical of the companies that I supported and realized that Nintendo is just a business that wants to make as much money as they can. They do not care about our childhood nostalgia. They do not care about games preservation. All they care about is their bottom line. It is astounding to me to to see so many UA-camrs make videos practically pleading with Nintendo to treat them better.
I never thought Nintendo was friendly. Then again I've been a melee player for many, many years. They have been screwing us over from day 1. They don't just not support us, they have in the past actively gone out of their way and spent resources to fight against tournaments and streaming of the game. They famously tried to block Evo from streaming the game and had to back down due to massive backlash, which was considered a huge win at the time but at the same time it didn't help all the other tournaments that got screwed over or the fact that the PM scene got outright destroyed. They could have spent the same money they were using on legal fees and cease and desist notices and sponsored the event instead. Rather than burning PM to the ground they could have hired some of the devs and maybe in ultimate there couldve been a game mode called like "retro smash" or something that uses melee physics. But instead of embracing the mods and making the game better and uniting the smash communities they just burned PM to the ground. It makes no sense. Even from a money perspective. Melee has a massive scene of players about on par with ultimate. Half of their player base isn't spending money on the new game... Edit: well clearly I hadn't finished watching the video before I commented. I'm really glad you addressed melee.
I think they just don’t need to. Releasing a lazy new game catering to the masses makes them more than enough easy money. Also don’t underestimate the ratio of casual mainstream gamers to hardcore competitive audience.
Well why would a company supported a modded game that gets then no revenue and minimal to no benefit. I think people have just gotten used to companies supporting mods and stuff that they get mad at nintnedo when they don't just because they expect every business in the industry to follow what others are doing. Nintendo is jusy protecting their product and IP. Technically and legally we in the community are the ones doing wrong because we don't have the legal rights to mod or broadcast without permission. Fair use technically is a work around but it's not a perfect system. Especially since it's a US law and so a Japanese company like nintendo doesn't need to abide by it. It's just a massive cultural difference which is also why most fans who are upset are American/follow a more American presence online.

12:26 Okay so putting an image of Masahiro Sakurai here is... _kind_ of in bad taste, because he's pretty much a third party contractor who hasn't, to my knowledge, done anything to the Smash community (and if anything, him and his team are the reason characters like Bayonetta got nerfed as requested). Also, unlike Nintendo so far, he's actively realized many fans' dreams by pulling strings to get Cloud (and later Sephiroth) in the game; not to mention King K.Rool and Ridley, two of the most requested characters in Smash. Hell, even Byleth was a community nod, since that character's trailer directly references the amount of Fire Emblem swordsmen that popped up (a common complain by competitive players around the world) only for him to use more than just a sword. As a last point, Sakurai also directly addressed that adding Steve from Minecraft was Nintendo's idea, which suggests that he's not a part of their business landscape. Pretty much confirmed at this point, since he's got his own company. I... know this must sound super nerdy to anyone who doesn't know any of this, and I apologize for that. I just want to say that this is the wrong target to put in this video. I usually don't comment this way for this channel, but I'd feel shitty not doing so when I have genuine stuff to share on this topic. @Jeff Logan Yeah i just emulated it. A Lot more fun for me at least than playing it on a underpowered handheld. Heck if Nintendo put its game on steam i'd probably get them on a sale sooner or later. But hey its their prerogative,
For me I knew how bad Nintendo really are back in the 80s when they had a strong hold on the video gaming industry and I remember when and where I was when I first played any Nintendo games as a kid for the first time. 1980 (age 8) - Got the Game & Watch games from Woolworth in NYC. 1981 (age 9) - Played my first Donkey Kong arcade in a pizza restaurant at NYC Essex and Delancey street. 1985 (age 13) - Got the NES Deluxe Set with Rob from NYC store. The NES does not count when it comes to sales. Nintendo cheated with it's illegal monopoly forcing nearly every retailer to only sell NES consoles and games, and forcing all 3rd party companies to make games only for the NES. Anyone who tells you that the NES has a legitimate sales margin compared to the competition is deceiving you. It was all forced. Think communism but in a video game industry. When there is nothing else to buy at the local shopping mall, the only choice parents had was the NES. Toys R Us and Macy's were the only retailers that I know of that sold the Sega Master System way back in the day. Control!, Control!, Control! - ua-cam.com/video/nwd56K7rp7A/v-deo.html Yeah, Nintendo's policies were pretty crap in the 80's. Still, it's not like they forced the developers to sign the retarded contracts in the first place. If they didn't want to sell out to Nintendo they didn't have to, so while obviously most of the blame goes to Nintendo, the developers were looking at teh munnies too. Actually, they did force publishers; that was the problem. If you wanted to release games for the Master System, TG-16 or 7800, Nintendo wouldn't sell you or would undersell you cartridges, if it allowed you to release games for the NES at all. It would also "ask" retailers not to carry your product. It was a massive success, Nintendo carved out it's own market and made it very hard for competitors. Evil? Perhaps but to the victor goes the spoils. Being successful doesn't give a company any right to monopolize the market and remove consumer choice. The fact that Nintendo's massive dominance evaporated once it no longer had complete control shows that consumers wanted options. Even AAA Game Publishers Think Nintendo Switch is for Kids Nintendo did this to them self in three strikes. strikes one: Nintendo marketed there gaming system as a toy after the VG Crash of 83. strikes two: Nintendo wanted to brand there systems as "family friendly" after they censored MK1 for SNES. strikes three: Nintendo created all there IP like Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach in the style of Disney characters. And you wonder why everyone and there uncle see Nintendo as a kid company.

I am not defending nintendo however I would like to point out some misinformation in this video so you know. Nintendo online is not 5 dollars a months. It is 20 dollars a year. And joy-cons that drift can be send in for repair completely for free no matter what. I am pretty sure everything else in this video is correct.
This videos is disappointing. It seems to be out of date on purpose to prove their point. I know Nintendo sucks as a company for their practices but they have corrected some things they mentioned here that expected to be mentioned as well. For example, there’s a program that fixes any joycon for free no matter the warranty. You just send them to Nintendo and they fix it. Granted, that doesn’t work worldwide, but it’s present in the biggest markets for Nintendo (na , eu and I believe jp too). Also, Nintendo is now supporting smash tournaments, melee and ultimate. They are organized by Panda and they appeared on Nintendo news last week, so how is that for support? I know it must have been a pain to get there, but not mentioning in this video that came out literally yesterday is, at least, disappointing. It seems to be left out on purpose to prove a point. I watch every akshon video and usually like them, but after this, I wonder how could have been misinformed by videos from this channel in the past. Not cool
Yea, but many of the points are relevant. Employee mistreatment reports for American depo of Nintendo are still coming the last one I found is from end of September. I am not defending poor or manipulative research, i just want to pint out that there are legit points in there

But I won't defend them against their broken DMCA bot or their DMCA team in Japan.
I actually agree with you. To be honest, this Nintendo hate to start to become really boring and ridiculous. All the complainers are just doing is bringing up the past that Nintendo did in the past and just making it worse. Also for what's worse is There are people out there that used Iwata's death as a weapon against Nintendo in a disgusting and disturbing way that disturbed a bunch of innocent people online and their complainers out there that attack anyone for saying Mario strikers battle league is good in their opinion. Even some of the calm Nintendo fans say that those games are good but still need improvements but they still get attacked anyway.
@@SadYefreitor What makes the situation more confusing though is some of the "employees" mentioned along the claims were presumably contractors who weren't even the equivalent of employees being "mistreated". People say they were being treated like...well..."Contractors". At this point you could argue that the conflict has gotten to the point where no solid proof can be adressed for a solid argument other than speculation.
It's good that someone is speaking about this. Even when you're criticizing a company you can be biased in your views. So biased actually that you end up making exaggerations which turn into misconceptions as well as misinformation. Which then creates a fake image of a company which is nowhere near good. It's not entirely for sure to say they ARE good though. Although it might be a tiny tiny bit more believable. There is a lot of stuff going on so it's hard to say *for sure.*
No matter how amazing a game is when everything around the platform from the console to the services are terrible and anti-consumer it's hard to keep loving Nintendo
If we _dont_ criticize them, they will not improve, if a 3rd party criticizes them and pressures them into going forward with improvements they wouldn’t do on their own, they’re _forced_ to improve lest their relationship with said 3rd party become strained somewhat. This is how corporations function unfortunately
The smash and splatoon communities were pretty much vocal when Nintendo filed a cease and desist on The Big House for online melee. The splatoon community actually changed their nicknames to #freemelee. They paid attention to it, they didn't care, resulting in the Top 8 for the official tournament to not be aired.
@@PickledKong64 Same goes with the smash fans. The smash community is a cold-blooded toxic community itself that used Iwata's death as a weapon and sent death threats to Sakurai and his team over a stupid DLC fighter that never made it to Smash and continuing to spam free melee considering some of the people don't play Melee and aren't interested in melee. I'm just very happy and satisfied that the community itself is already dead. It's kind of cute and funny how the UA-cam channel itself is an esports community considering they never told you about the toxic side. Here is one you forgot. That dates back to the NES era. Nintendo's certification on the NES. They bullied devs back when NEC launched the Turbografix/PCEngine, if they made games for that platform, they would pull their Nintendo Certification for their consoles.

It always makes me glad when someone covers this... I've been talking about this sort of thing for a long time and always get a ton of hate. You know the type of person that defends them no matter what messed up thing they've done? It is because of delusional people like this that they keep getting away with these things. I would say a smash tournament shut down is just out right a slap to the fans for smash and as of now 2023 the games and things Nintendo is cooking up is not that great and other’s problems arises if these things don’t get resolved. It is a great interest that Nintendo needs to change.

My relationship with Nintendo is this: I'm absolutely a fanboy of Nintendo's games and some specific developers/development teams, but freaking hate Nintendo as a corporation. I don't need to run over how they own most mainstream game franchises but for sake of detail let's just mention stuff like Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong, Smash Bros, Animal Crossing, Pokemon, Kirby, Fire Emblem, and even more, and obviously they have incredible developers like Miyamoto, Eiji Aonuma with Zelda, and more recently Hisashi Nogami and his development team working on Animal Crossing and Nintendo's most recent smash hit Splatoon. All of that on its own is fantastic, but everything this video covers has been coming out at full force recently, and I can only hope that it leads to a change if not simply so Nintendo doesn't eventually get one of the biggest PR nightmares in gaming history. The only part of this that was happening during the Iwata era was the Smash thing, and even then Nintendo just kinda shrunk back after a lot of backlash and ignored it after that until 2020 when we had a new president. It seems like Shuntaro Furukawa, Nintendo's current president, is running Nintendo exclusively as a corporation first and foremost, and it's having an impact on the employees, on the dedicated Nintendo fans, and even the casual gamers who just like Nintendo because of Mario.
Unlike the complainers, I actually have faith in Doug Bowser and Shuntaro Furukawa But I will admit that the DMCA stuff is pretty crappy Also real fact, Both Doug Bowser and Shuntaro Furukawa Never made the decision to make the paid online membership, It was planned long before they even became presidents. I think with Nintendo, they're sorta fucked, excuse my language, if they have another GameCube or Wii U level failure, which I do think is possible. I'm sure that once the Wii came out, people thought that Nintendo could never stoop back down to the levels of the GameCube, but come 2012 and that's exactly what the Wii U did. In both of those situations, it's been the hardcore fans who've bought Nintendo systems. The people willing to wait for a new 3D Mario game, wait for Mario Kart, wait for Zelda etc, when those games aren't there at launch. But they've been so hostile towards the community in the last few years that I'm not sure the hardcore fans are going to flock to the rescue. The shutting down of the Smash tournaments, the constant battle from content creators, their really shitty online service, which can we acknowledge how the online infrastructure got worse going into the Switch compared to Wii U, and it was free on Wii U. When a Switch content creator passed away, someone worked to create custom joycons in memory of him, with all proceeds going to charities helping mental health among young people, and Nintendo took them down. They're really a shitty company, easily my least favourite among them, Sony and Microsoft. At least those companies are actively trying to give you ways to play their older games.
You want to know the real reason why they shut down the smash tournaments, the smash community is a disgusting community with a bunch of crybaby 35-year-old neck beard that cry over a stupid 21-year-old game, not not every casual gamer is interested in and they are p3dos and pr3dators behind the scenes that got exposed to the public and this pathetic esports channel defended all that.

Really glad stuff like this gets more and more attention. Videos like these are really important. Nintendo's been getting away with too much these past years, especially after the huge success of the Switch. If any other company effs up, the community's immediately out to get them. But in Nintendo's case, that's rarely the case, simply forgotten after their next big reveal or some fanboys even step up to protect their shady business without knowing anything about their practices. Gamers need to view Nintendo the same as any other big company such as EA, Ubisoft or Microsoft. If they screw something up, let them know. Like, REALLY let them know. Ok, enough ranting. And this doesn’t even mention the lack of content in new games.

So what theyre doing in the end is nothing new
@@simonchai3040 its bad for business to not sell their own games, they dont make any money on ebay scalpers who have the only legitimate copies available so theyre straight up leaving money on the table
From the outside looking in it may seem like bad business practice. But at the same time their 140 yr survival probably means they are doing something right. Which that kind of info only they are privy too.
Do we want them to be more generous. Oh yeah.
Why not Nintendo hire those very same modders to make your older game playable to make them available for switch

So perhaps they are😬
The situation in smash is odd to me cause even Sakurai likes the competitive side
Sakurai was the director of Smash and was the main cause of the watering down of competition in the transition of melee to smash 4. he only warmed up to it retroactively in ultimate years later.
@@josephmama6212 Nintendo didn't want another Melee and demanded Sakurai make Brawl more casual
I bet if Sakurai did smash for Sega instead of Nintendo, it would have been different
Well, this officially aged like milk after what the competitive Community has done behind the scenes
You know it's bad when SMG4 made a Story Arc about it.

You actually support a smash community that has a lot of terrible actions and has a toxic community that sends Sakurai and his team death threats?
Tbf your community stinks.
This would be a good home movies episode

- ua-cam.com/video/nwd56K7rp7A/v-deo.html
Yeah, Nintendo's policies were pretty crap in the 80's.
Even AAA Game Publishers Think Nintendo Switch is for Kids Nintendo did this to them self in three strikes.
strikes one: Nintendo marketed there gaming system as a toy after the VG Crash of 83.
strikes two: Nintendo wanted to brand there systems as "family friendly" after they censored MK1 for SNES.
strikes three: Nintendo created all there IP like Mario, Luigi and Princess Peach in the style of Disney characters.

also giving their reputation for horrible workplace enviroment (which is probably why former CEO Reggie Fils-Amie left them), numerous ammount of copyright abuse for petty reasons, especially on youtube, tackling videos containing even a fraction of any (and I say ANY!) their IPs, regardless of wether they follow fair use or not, regardless of if they make any amount of profit or they're not even intended on making profit, they'll still take them down, not to mention what they're doing to PointCrow (who makes Breath of the Wild mods for entertainment, and has no intention of making them public, nor profiting off of them), they gave him multiple strikes, giving each video a strike, rather than rounding all the videos into one strike, they're directly trying to drop his channel into termination

It's kind of cute and funny how the UA-cam channel itself is an esports community considering they never told you about the toxic side. Probably because they're hiding something they don't want us to see.

Here is one you forgot. That dates back to the NES era.
Nintendo's certification on the NES.
They bullied devs back when NEC launched the Turbografix/PCEngine, if they made games for that platform, they would pull their Nintendo Certification for their consoles.
For the love of God if you're gonna shut down pokemon Uranium for violating copyright then the least Nintendo could do is actually make the modern pokemon games worth playing so I don't have to resort to rom hacks.
Isn't Pokémon Arceus good?
@@alphonsejohnson5601 I'd agree that legends arceus was good, but its like comparing apples to oranges. Legends Arceus was great but in terms of traditional pokemon games, they haven't made a good one since SM (I think USUM was great but its too close to the original to be worth buying if you already had SM in my opinion.)
@@ethanwolters7901 heard that's because the A-team who usually worked on Pokemon got bored or afraid of monotone branding, were working on Little Town Hero at the time, and only returned for remakes or spinoffs(like Legends) while mainline Pokemon games were done by the B-team newbies
we should certainly be mad at the higher ups, but not de the devs.
The devs are clearly verry passionate about their work, the higher ups are just passionate about money.
that's how I see it.
Well, Sakurai has been a dick to Melee players too
The developers wouldn't rush a game if they weren't used to it already. Directors man.
It always makes me glad when someone covers this... I've been talking about this sort of thing for a long time and always get a ton of hate. You know the type of person that defends them no matter what messed up thing they've done? It is because of delusional people like this that they keep getting away with these things. Hell, you can go all the way back to our childhoods where they did everything they could to force other developers to ONLY make games for their system and not a competitor; if you wanted your game to be on a Nintendo system they forced you to sign an agreement that it wouldn't be on any other system. They did everything they could to create a monopoly and everyone forgets that.
I would say a smash tournament shut down is just out right a slap to the fans for smash and as of now 2023 the games and things Nintendo is cooking up is not that great and other’s problems arises if these things don’t get resolved. It is a great interest that Nintendo needs to change.
They have already changed but the smash community basically killed themselves. Especially after being exposed for having p3dos and pr3dators in their community
i hadn't touch my switch in a long time ago and when covid first started i thought i would buy some games and play. unfortunately i was logged out of my nintendo account so i tried to send a reset password email. it never was delivered to me and for the past 3 years i couldnt play multiplayer games. i put it down for a while but like a month ago i tried it again and it was delivered to me for the first time.
I'm surprised they were so petty with the joy cons. I remember way back when I called the number on the bottom of my GameCube and we were able to send it back to get fixed when we were having problems with the disk drive for free

Let's hope this whole hate comes to an end real soon

Considering The UA-cam channel itself is an esports community that has a toxic side of itself. I have to agree on that part

@@Mario123007 I'm very sure the employee stuff and such are just speculation and not 100% true. This is BS though. I came here to see what Nintendo is actually bad for!
Also as a 3DS and a Wii U owner of my own I know an absolute fact that not everything was beautiful and pretty during that era and it had some problems as well, I'm not nostalgic blind like those pathetic complainers that weaponized Iwata's death harassing and attacking casual gamers for enjoying tears of the kingdom on switch hardware and enjoying it, supporting the toxic smash community with a bunch of lousy 35-year-old neck beards that cry over a stupid 21-year-old game and are p3dos and pr3dators behind the scenes, Wishing Shigeru Miyamoto is gone or dead all because of story changes that I'm Sure not every casual player is completely interested in, blaming splatoon 3 developers, sending Sakurai death threats over DLC, bomb threaten Nintendo HQ over Gary Bowser and believing misinformation that Nintendo assassinates or kills anyone who is named Mario or any of their IP which is truthfully not real.

It was not like the SWT is any harm to Nintendo, the opposite in fact, it probably helped them sell more switches and copies of the game.

Finally someone who dosen't include the Nintendo of Japan but rather gives the USA more attention.
And this doesn’t even mention the lack of content in new games. The Mario Kart DLC, newest Mario Party’s, Mario Tennis Aces, and Mario Strikers especially, all were designed so that the consumer buys an incomplete game, Nintendo bets their money, and then decides how much additional content they’ll add.
