On this episode of You Be Trippin’, Jasmin Shah hikes a really long way across the Camino del Norte in northern Spain all alone. There, she experiences the beautiful coastal views, friendly locals, and foggy mornings along the 512 mile journey. On the show, she talks about not having a home, living life as a nomad, and almost falling off a cliff. The two also discuss and taking photos on film, getting rained on, and how to get proof that you completed the trip. Sounds like a really long walk. Buen Camino!

Quickly become one of my favorite pods, thank you Ari.
Hamilton Morris would be an insane guest.
One of my favorite people walking this earth. The world needs more minds like his
Yes! Why hasn't that happened by now? Whoever's on the YMH staff reading this, please make this happen.

This is the perfect way to start my work week. As I’m working, I’m daydreaming of traveling somewhere else, and this podcast gives me that solace. Keep em coming!!!
Keep on and you’ll be daydreaming your azz to the unemployment line
Ari getting after Bandit has just become a show staple at this point.
Next protect our parks make sure to let joe know your travel show is really good and doing well
Hahahaha. I probably won't mention it at all. They weren't very receptive to the idea. We'll probably just talk abou Tires.
@@youbetrippinpod😮❤
@@youbetrippinpod Tell Rogan you'll give your podcast that shitty name and compliment it until he realizes how bad of an idea it was.
Buen Cameno! Met my wife on the trail and now I live in Japan and have a baby, least to say life changing trip
Wow. I'm usually here for the comedy but am now so inspired to do this pilgrimage myself. Thanks so much Jasmin!!
It really made me want to do it too!
Ari I love that this podcast is exactly what it is. It’s my favorite people and their storytelling from amazing places that I’ll never see.
Mostly I’m just happy to have you back posting literally anything. I legit cried when you signed off of Skeptic Tank. And laughed when you started peeling off your clothes.
The Sheath AD was hilarious. Ari and Rick are the only ones who get ke to watch the AD
😮
Good episode! Cool guest. Good job Ari! Can’t wait for the Shaman and Brazil.
Is this confirmed?
Jasmin Shah is wonderful... what a fun conversation!
Another great episode. I wish I travel more before I became wheelchair bound recently. I’ve traveled a bunch and enough to know that wheelchair accessibility is not a thing in most places.
Yes! Currently booking a trip to northern spain so this is perfect! Love this pod!
Love it! Do a day on there.
Such a cool trip. Definitely my favorite episode yet.
Love this podcast!!
I walked the Norte in 2018 to Finisterre, one of the best experiences of my life - Buen Camino!
Fantastic guest and great location. Good ep, Ari!
Buen Camino! Did it 2 years ago by myself and doing it again this year with my wife. Life changing experience
Damn. Nice
I love this pod, it gives me the best view, through other people's eyes, of travelling to other great places within this globe. Thanks Ari.
And everybody is different. It's fun
I, for one, would welcome as many non-comedian guests as possible
6:36
When she said her grandma and cousin died 2 months prior to her hike i can only hear Ari respond with 'congrats'
Am I trippin?
Love it
Awesome to learn more about Jasmin 🎉. Im already over here looking into different routes I can go on this trip myself 😅
✌Great Show ✌
I did the camino. Best gift I ever gave myself.
Jealous
Favorite new poscast. Egypt would be a good one, or more Peru/Bolivia
I got some good stories on Egypt. And we did one on Peru already but another one is coming.
Cool vid, Jaz. I forgot you had done this hike.
Good stuff. Scotland next!
Jasmin Shah, if you're talking about Buddhist temple pilgrimage in Japan, you must be referring to Kumano Kodo (I've done it). Try it.
Loved this one Ari! Makes me want to go to Spain!
On a serious note, glad you had the opportunity to see the Great Ocean Road. A very beautiful part of the country. Don't spit in the bush, Yowies will get upset.
Listening to that was like watching paint dry.
I thought it said Carmen Sandiego. 😅
When she looks at the the camera it doesn't feel like she is just addressing the audience but rather looking right at you in a why I have not seen before. The very helpful practical tips are what Im looking for. It was great her saying the number of kinds of clothes and the washing drying every nite is something not broken down for people much. the idea of getting into the habit of just getting up early morning and just walking till you can find a bed is great. The fact that it takes time to shed the old rhythms to get into the swing of this more natural life. I get really homesick the first few days away like kicking a drug dependency...then by day four I stopped thinking about home and more jazzed to keep going and not turn around. There is a real hump to humping a mountain trail or journey. I would love if you could get some more travelers that did not depend on a homestead. Your show is helping me give up my worldly things and to ge streamlined to just walk the path my reminder of days. Help me pack light: I am overcoming my thing fetish hoarding and don't want to wander around like the old lady in the junk yard of your mind in the labyrinth.
❤❤❤
STOKED FOR THE SHAMAN NEXT WEEK !! VAMANOS FATTMATTMcCUSKER

Pissing outside during ad read is outta pocket😂 28:20
No it’s absolutely on brand.
Trippin😊
Cheers
I went from never hearing of the Camino to this being the third time I’ve seen a video about it in the last few weeks
maybe that's an invitation :)
BANDITO lookin super cute. 🐶💛
Ari, thanks for the good podcast. I have been thinking of potential guests I would like to see. I can't wait to see who you get in the future.
Please Keep these forever Ari...
Timor episode please?

How does she fund it?
First. Love this podcast
Check out the Kumano Kodo. I hiked it last year. It's the Japanese version of this hike. It's a lot shorter though.
There's one of these in every country it seems. PCH and Apalachian trails here.
Ari. I enjoy your perspective. If you want to talk hiking, let's talk through hiking. 5 weeks is astonishing. 5 months on the PCT and other long hikes are pretty cool as well! Let me know what you think. Regards
You two would be a really cute couple. 😍 You guys are a vibe ❤️
For real!
What have you got against this woman to wish that hell upon her?
ARI has a longtime gf/partner which he never talks about. After the Kobe incident, he kept her identity secret bc he didn’t want her to catch any flack.
I wasn't sure about her til she said Cortado
I can't dislike anyone who has love for the Cortado, I am a Brevé Cortado guy myself, I always like to tell them to make it on the cooler end because a lot of baristas don't pay much attention to the temperature of the milk 😩
You should colonize a pacific island
@@youbetrippinpod bro how'd you know?
I dream of starting a Kava plantation near Vanuatu or something
Bula!
Ari, I'd love to hear you interview your old pal Chris Ryan on one of his many excursions. I believe he lives way out in Crestone, CO these days, if you ever make it out there...
Def has introvert energy
You're totally effing. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Get Shane on about his Spain trip
I've always wanted to do the Camino de Santiago but alas I need to make a living to pay the bills.
This pilgrimage is just too long for me to take off.
The one in Japan is the Shikoku prilgrimage. Going to 88 temples around the Shikoku island.
It takes roughly about 30 days. I wanted to do this one too...maybe eventually.
The time is the biggest problem with any trip.
I want to do a long walk one day. Two kids makes it hard. Maybe when they are older..
Nice. Looking forward to interesting travelers as guests and not just a comedian who went somewhere once.
I had stopped listening to comedy podcasts because they all felt repetitive and pointless, but this new format is so fresh and fun. And Ari is honestly interested in the subject and the guests, I love it! Keep going!
Until I stop having fun!
Travel tip for most places (like peru or Mexico), stuff is cheap, so buy lots for stuff to give as gifts to friends when you're home. A buddy gave me a woven shirt from peru and blew my mind, cost like $2 American
Bandit 😎💪
This pod has made me realize how much I love hearing travel stories from folks who really travel. This is a real good episode.
Pro hiking tip #1 Pack light.
I love the scenic piss segment
Ari you should spend a couple of weeks vacationing in the south side of Chicago and come back and tell us all about it
Hahahaa
Ari Totally road her "Oregon Trail" after this episode 😊
lmao!
When are you gonna get Mickey Millionaire (Nick Mullen) on for a Japan/Australia episode?
Second, I do too 🔥
I'm trippin on acid rn ari
I love her bib!!!!
Ari, go walk the Appalachian trail with me.
42:55 "Just ups the romance, you know." *awkward pause* "What were the toilets like?"
The in and out dog thing is ruff.
I think there was an issue in editing because I didn’t hear any mention of prostitutes.
Ari, Steve the OCD clown who was on Soft White Underbelly would be amazing to interview. He talked about his travels all over, including Ethiopia. He's a naturally great story teller and speaker with so many stories! He's in CA but it's possible
Duuude, the UA-cam ads are out of control
Damn 500 miles in 5 weeks is fucking crazy.
Most interesting guest yet; Don’t be afraid to have on more non-comedians/regular Joes, Ari.
Thank Yahweh you didn't listen to Rogan. Keep it trippy fam
Gotta get Drew Binsky on to talk about his train ride in Mauritania
Dr Drew?
@@youbetrippinpod no Drew Binsky the world traveler. 4.25 million subs on UA-cam
Great series. One thing I'd like to hear about is how people pay for stuff in the places they're visiting. Just, like, cash/cards/app on your phone/etc. If it's cash, can you hit an ATM on a regular basis or are you changing money at the airport and carrying weeks worth of cash on you? One of those small things like toilets that's a little different everywhere you go.
THIS SHOW IS MAKIN ME WANNA TRAVEL I INHERITED A HUGE RV MOTORHOME & IM TAKIN IT 2 TX/AZ 2 EXCAPE THE BRUTAL MICHIGAN WINTER THANKS ARI Ū ROCK💥💯 #yOunG 🪖🌴🕊 #youngOG ©️👻💲🅿️🧩⛩️
I've got bad news for you. The winter is over.
I’ll bet she’s talking about silage when she is referring to sweet fermented hay
Ari totally hit her up and she liked it😅
While you're down there interview an Aussie that took a trip through N America.
Yeah. Gonna get Nick Cody on about Vegas.
You should explain somewhere in the description who your guest is ... but I'll watch anyway 🙄
GET JOE AND DUNKIN ON YOUR SHOW.... BUT DO IT ON THE RIM OF METEOR CRATOR IN NEW MEXICO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Loved this one... Really just watch this podcast for the travel stories 😎Really refreshing to not have Ari yapping on about prostitutes and being generally gross 😁 more like this please 🤗
If there are still travel agents. That could be interesting. They would have knowledge of different places but may have never gone.
Travel agents just coordinated and booked your trip so it was all organized. Now a website will do all of that for you. You used to have to book all your connecting flights individually and time that with shuttles and shit
Damn son didn’t even know you had this.
great to have a non-comic on
When you gonna have Uncle Joey on
Ari, I know a guy who rents bikes in Saì Gòn that you can return in Hà Nội. You wouldn’t have to buy/sell in VN, which is a hassle. Hit me up if you’d like his number.
He’s an American expat. I rented a bike for several years from him to use locally, but most of his business is with people who do the trip you mentioned.
Great ep I got the feeling she’s a nomad
Lived in her van for a long time. She's nuts.
Get Harland on to talk about Komodo island
I’ve been there!
Great episode. She’s a great storyteller, Camino is a fascinating place. I hope we can do a Camino shroomfest. Please do more episodes with travelers and non comedians.
These people and bad comedians are always the best guests. Bad comics have been 100% awesome on the show. Only exception is Andrew Sandino. But other than him all the bad or non comics have been great! Would love to hear from her again
Homeless . Hmmm. No thx
Am I the only one who thinks she looks a bit like the female Anthony Kiedis? Lovely episode by the way.
Rude
@@losethOS88 Anthony Kiedis is attractive. Why is that rude? I loved the episode.
I think it’s be interesting to hear from like one of those extreme survivalists (bear grills, les stroud etc.)
Theo von episode please :)!!!!
So much better than skeptic tank podcast!! I was so tired of the awesome new music, interesting guests, diverse subject matter, and original format! Thank god you isolated the travel subject for a podcast-a novel idea in and of itself-as you could have an endless supply of guests with interesting stories from abroad.
