This is a great episode! I’m 10 minutes in and it’s cracking me up. We recorded this 7 years ago so I had forgotten everything we talked about.
You have the funniest fucking ad reads I've ever seen, I love you for recording each one in a unique hilarious way, literally the only ads I ever sit through. You're also one of my favorite comedians, you're getting better every year, IMO.
Thank you for all the work you do just to make people laugh, smile, and taking us all on a journey together from your perspective. I fuckin love it and I fuckin love you too Ari, and there ain't shit you can do about that 😂😂✌️🍄💚
This is Ari’s ad read pod, yeah. He’s gonna read us some ads today, you be hearing ad reads.
This is seriously the best new podcast in years. I’ve been listening to eps on flights to the topic countries. In Bangkok now. Let’s go fellow travelers!
@@arishaffir Yep. I walked by a screaming old fat homeless woman taking shit on the street yesterday. Magical travel memories.
Hey man, Im a Thai. I would really suggest making a trip to the beaches of Sattahip, avoid Pattaya, Ari can tell you why
live in Siem Reap, Cambodia and love it. I don't understand why so many people have a false, negative view of the place. The country and the people are incredible.
William is one of the best guests ever!!!!!!! Well done, great conversation, so interesting!!! Thank you❤
This has been a super interesting episode. Kinda wish it was longer!
I've been listening to you from like JRE one hundred and something, and listening to you talk about travel heavily influenced me to sack off my job and go solo travelling round south-east asia a few years ago, fast forward to today and I've been living in Cambodia for 2 years and never been happier, so this is a really cool episode for me to listen to.
That's badass! About how much does it cost a month to live there comfortably? What made you want to stay and live there?
You should watch teddygreyonstuff then! He a British guy that covers Cambodian stuff!
My favourite site at Angkor is Kbal Spean, a river bed made of sandstone that has been carved with lingas and Hindu gods. Give it a Goog, it’s well worth the uphill hike to get there. I was there twice and saw less than 5 tourists total so it’s great place to get away from the crowds that are omnipresent at the other sites of Angkor. Make sure you bring swimwear since you’ll want to take a dip near the waterfall.
My tuk tuk driver for Angkor Wat was totally cool.
I paid him about $25 a day and got me to all the places I needed without trying to sell me shit.
The main town in Siem Reap was super chill too even back in 2018 when I was there. It's not like Thailand where it's over crowded with people wanting to party.
Thank you Ari and William.
Great episode!
Awesome pod! Love this story of a place I never thought I would EVER want to see, but now I seriously got too.
This is PERFECT as I am obsessed with Cambodia and want to make that my next big trip.
My family and I live on top of Phnom 1500 near the Thai border. We are within a wildlife sanctuary within a national park, only allowed to live here because we are the perimeter of a military outpost, no people for 30 kilometers in both directions. It's an absolutely insane place to live with extreme weather, but we have a cabin for guests, a whitewater river in the backyard, and even a mountain that overlooks the Thai ocean. Come here for an off-the-wall experience.
I have been there 9 times. Mostly because of visa runs due to living in Thailand. But some trips were weeks at a time. The only place I didn't like was sihanoukville. Loved everywhere else I went. PP is a fascinating city. I miss the FCC. Legendary
Ari shaffir not only loves pills and pot, he also likes pol pot
I’m so happy you’re doing this pod. Although I get uncomfortably excited and restless watching… I want to gooooo
Thanks for making the only content about travel out there! So excited to try it myself
The bucket hat, frizzy beard, bacon grease-smeared Vuarnet sunglasses reads...one of the most Ari things I've ever seen.
The entire podcast I couldn’t get the Dead Kennedys song Holiday in Cambodia out of my head.

Trigger warning to all of our Millennial/GenZ friends. You may hear a word(s) you don't like in that song.
I saw an old whiskey ginger from 4 or 5 years back recently with Ari where he mentions wanting to do a Travel Podcast with different people talking about countries.
I am glad it's come to fruition as I've loved every one of these podcast travels.
I went to Cambodia in 2018. I was supposed to be in Vietnam but Chinese NY delayed my Visa. It turned to my good fortune. Vietnam came later but Cambodia was a far better experience. Similar to Thailand. My advice, rent a scooter, stay at hostels, take the long bus rides to somewhat isolated islands. Get 12$ massages, skip the happy endings along with all the other bullshit people want to sell you. Visit remote temples and learn to meditate. Solo. You will make more friends that way. Just go!!
Mountain bike tour of Angkor Wat and surrounding temples. Trails are through the jungle and very fun!
don’t worry about keeping it an hour if the pod is flowing
you told Rogan back in the day to keep the pods short, glad he didn’t listen
William....I remember our days together in Shanghai. Great episode Ari as I got to see you perform here as well. I never escaped though; still here. Sadly, comedy is much maligned by the powers that be these days. It was a golden era when you both performed here not too long ago. Wishing you gentlemen all the best!
My favourite episode so far!! Thank you both ❤
This is the best new podcast! I got stuck in a flood in Kampot/Kep with my aging parents back in 2015, and we were all high. My favorite country.
I have been to Cambodia 9 times. So much great stuff there. PP doesn't get as much love as BKK but there is plenty to love about it. I miss the old Foreign Correspondence Club but I believe it's gone forever.
@@WHDRWN sex addiction? When I lived in Thailand you have to leave every so often by law so you go places like Cambodia for a new visa. You're saying the 40 million people who go to Thailand each year are all sex addicted? You should get out of Mom's basement and travel it's a great world out there
Love it!!! Thanks Ari and team!❤
I love fkn clicking play on ones I’m not as familiar with & it becomes my favorite episode! This one’s great!
This dude is rad great guest
So dope … I backpacked Southeast Asia in 2017 and missed Cambodia cause our visas where fucked up this totally brought me back to all the dope experiences
Great ep!
Ari - as someone planning a big trip to South America and dreaming of many others I love this show! Thanks from Bham Alabama
Please have this guy back on! and more of your own stories!
Very much enjoy this pod its refreshing to talk about some travel
This is now my favorite podcast.
Great job Ari.
When can i come on and talk about Wales? 😊🖖
Just ordered the signed vinal. They are in fact not sold out
“It’s the tree baby!” Hahahaha
It's insane that there are over 4,000 temples and 6,600 historical sites in Cambodia.
Loving the pod brotha
Listened to this one on Spotify, an awesome episode. Makes me really want to go travel the world. 1 of the ads seemed a bit quieter than the pod and I couldn't hear it over the chickens at work 😂
Stoked to hear the grinders are making a comeback!
Love the Getting Doug mug ! One of my old favorites.
By far the funniest episode. I'm sooo glad you created this channel. Many thanks danelson. I just got some bad news. I got hep c n the treatment costs 16k, sitting in Walgreens in Waukegan IL. I had no idea a single perception for 112 pills can cost that much. So unfortunately gonna have to cancel my trip to europe. Wish you the best bud.
Fun stories fun dude.
Nice to see Ari looking so happy at the sign off
Love this guest. He is awesome.
I lived on cambodia for no other reason than they have more accessible visa for work. Country is fantastic
Great podcast Ari! You are saving a sinking ship.
Koh Rong Sanloem, no cars on the island. Cambodia is amazing. I’m still not sure how I feel about the stegosaurus or the “dinosaur of Ta Prohm”. Anyway I also did the Camino. Glad to finally see a travel podcast. Everyone should do the Camino, life changing.
I went to Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand in 2012. I had food poisoning for 2 weeks in Bangkok though and I couldn't sleep because they kept playing Gangnam Style.
Come to Cambodia, Ari!
Did they post this at 6 am Monday? bless his soul
Beautiful photos
Saw you at the bar after the footy Sunday but didn’t want to annoy you. So just wanna I’m a big fan of the podcast and I’m gonna go traveling again next year partially because of it. I also frothed Cambodia when I was there.
Being your assistant would be the coolest fucking gig. If you ever find use for one, or a cameraman/tech guy, sign me up. Until then I'll just travel vicariously through these pods. Love your work Ari. Keep trippin'
Im gonna backpack through Cambodia & Vietnam one day.
“Dads with passports” 😂!
More like dances with passports..!
”Tatanka Tatanka!” 😂
shout out Sarah from Vancouver!!!!!! she's the best
Great podcast
Going to south east Asia this summer. Would love the name of some of the comedy clubs there. Think it would be fun to catch a show there.
If you get a chance, go to do some volunteering with The Elephant Valley Project. I absolutely love Cambodia. Also, Bassac Lane is the place to find good weed in Phnom Penh.
I like the map background, but there should be a globe between you and the guest with the pinned location facing front, adding a new pin every episode. Maybe let the guest pin the globe themselves, that would be a fun small addition for the viewing audience. Also saves you reaching behind you to find the location
hi ari i have been to north korea would you ever consider a fan coming on?
Love how Ari immediately picked up on
“weren’t you smoking opium in one of these places 😂😂?!” Right as William mentioned the word “Magical” lmao 🤣!
Is there a bonus segment? I have an idea, buy an unopened box of desert storm trading cards and have your guest open up a pack at the end of each episode.
Or the Iraqi Most Wanted playing cards that were so popular after "the turn of the century"
If you want a travel podcast you are in luck, this is the only one
Best and only podcast on the interwebs
"We do thay shxt too" ... we used to. Then someone started telling Americans foreign aid was bad, that it was expensive and has no benefit, and China and Russia were like "well do it!", because it's not expensive and you gain way more than you lose.
Love this showv
Hearing William say tuk-tuk so many times in a southern accent is very funny to me.
Every time I hear Cambodia I always hear the DK song Holiday in Cambodia, NEVER FAILS 😂!
I only know angkor wat from the Civilization games. Seems dope
This is my new favorite podcast, and I am the Caller of Next Big Podcasts, I listened to Maron when he used to text with fans.
Shane is gay.
Ari you are the shit. Ima felon so its difficult to travel, but im going to make it happen. This podcast has inspired me!
Sure I can. I could show you some you some stuff about that, that would blow your mind. I'm working on it. Ima musician and trying to get into stand up comedy. You're one of my inspirations. You just don't give a shit. Mush love, Ari😎
"i forgot about the bum guns" Aris quote of the day. lol
Ari! This pod rules! Thanks for doing this. You are the Jewish version of the portal
This guy and Collum would be good hosts when you are a guest
He didn't mention the temple that has carvings of dinosaurs on it..
Will is a solid dude!
So thankful that you didn’t listen to Rogan. This is fast becoming my favourite podcast.
Let's get Foley in Paris! Plumpers in Paris!
Lol... I think you were combining Sam Morehouse and Andrew Newman at 5:00 minutes.
Just realized the mushroom wallpaper in the back looks like Ari lol
"I don't want to interrupt--" **proceeds to interrupt** 😂
An opium blunt sounds intense lol
For ME it really wasn't 🤷 I was expecting it to hit like a freight train but it was surprisingly mellow, I could definitely see why people get hooked on it though.
Awesome, proper looking forward to this. It's so hard to find any travel podcasts out there. Fucking finally we've got one!
Really want to hear some crazy hitch-hiking stories.
Is there going to be some off-shoot where comics go and travel an shit?
The baby smashed against the tree can be shown but you can't say fuck in the first minute? What is going on with UA-cam Hahaha
Guys skip Thailand, just go to Cambodia
These southeast asian countries seem really cool except for the heat and humidity. I don't think i could get over that. I won't even go to texas lol
Maybe Ari can get that Sonny Side guy on? He travels. As long as the entire pod isn't all about food.
Let's go to Cambodia 🇰🇭 🤪 , thank you Ari. You da man!! Xxxooo ❤
Where can we get the shroomfest shirts 🎉
Based
i searched 151 1st ave nyc. the google street map shows buildings on both sides of the street covered in graffiti. lolz
I Lourve It
✌️
Tops content
As a Thai, I dont get the hate for Cambodia. Thats our cousins lmao
GETTING DOUG WITH HIGH mug club!!! lol
Ari is the only podcast host who catches himself interrupting the guest and let's them finish their thought. For real
I interrupt a lot though.
It's because your excited and passionate about travel. A real conversation that happens a lot in as well.
I do that too actually. So no, he is not the only one.
@@SamBassComedy yeah @mark8855! You silly goose! Ol Sammy boy is a bit of a conversationalist himself!
@@youbetrippinpod not after I'm used to listening to 2bears! 😂
