Dying from that physics debate! BTW terminal velocity of a baseball isn't really too high at about 95MPH, so not too fast to catch from pure speed, but probably still extremely hard to find and catch.
Watching two Cy winners talk about a pitch was killer EG was a great guy in Milwaukee to talk to… a great pitch lesson for players… Lift lite bunt shirt is a must , yes but we lift big and hit bombs baby!
Completely different changeups though. Gagne was known for his Vulcan changeup that virtually no other players used as consistently as he did. Trevor's grip is more standard. Vulcan is weird as hell
@@powerhitter033 Credit due to Gagne for staying in shape. Eric Byrnes is probably in better shape than any player in MLB, but it doesn't mean he can still play baseball at the highest level.
@@milesian1 Eric Byrnes? LMAO Have you seen Tyler O'Neill? ..And I didn't think Gagne could still play just because of his shape, but because of his shape and past performance.
Gabby Street caught one from the Washington Monument in 1908. Around 550 feet. 95 mph, 300 pounds of force. He had to have someone spot it for him as he could only see it when it was about 50 feet away. It took him from 13 to 15 tries. He caught Walter Johnson all the time. I dunno if it is doable from a hot air balloon. It's going to be moving faster, the 50 feet Street had to locate it and get to it is going to be effectively less. Just getting your eyes on it is going to be a problem. Probably an insurmountable one. You'd have to pick the perfect cloud-cover day. Modern sunglasses will help, but they will also break on your face with that kind of force. Not a great idea.
Hey Tim, I’ve got back issues to say the least pertaining to L4 L5 with those variations and rotations work to build just basic core strength. Normal PT hasn’t worked well
L4 and L5 were my nemesis when I was a sophomore in college (football and wrestler). The thought behind my Lumbar herniations was an anterior tilt to my pelvis combined with loading my spine in squat variations. Also had a ‘weak’ core and poor hip mobility. I started with PT where we did various hip mobility exercises: pelvic tilts, isometric core exercises like planks. What I found to be most helpful were stability/isometric core exercises exercises and then doing them with perfect form. It’s hard to evaluate your own form, which luckily a strength coach I was working with at the time observed found that my form was slightly off and was complementing the pelvic tilt I had vs fixing it. I also integrate the Breath Belt into my routine. After a couple of years of consistency I was pain free and was able to back squat 600lbs with no belt or knee wraps and good depth. The reason I did the lifting program to get there was to see what was possible with stability exercises even with lumbar issues. I do not recommend the same aggressive approach on squat but if you are looking for exercises, I would start with hip mobility, core stability, glute strengthening exercises and using the breath belt. Hope this helps!
I wish Nolan Ryan could teach me his 4 Seam, Maddux teach me his Sinker, Randy John teach me his slider, Gagne teach me his change up, Moe teach me his Cutter. That would make me god tier
Trevor Bauer is right, what is the other guy talking about? - it reaches zero vertical velocity, but still has spin, it even has movement, but in order for the ball to reverse, it has to go through zero/neutral.
I can teach you to bunt, Kevin. You'll have a higher AVG and OBP than Sim. And WAR because he's a 2 outcome hitter. Occasional bomb and constant Whiffing. lol.
Eric the ball assuming the ball is dropped at 1000ft(304m) and u catch it at 2 meters above the ground it would be travelling at around 175mph. that would be hard to catch
Although a dropped baseball would only have a top speed of 95 mph (from any height above 100 meters), there would be a lot more factors to consider to have the ball drop where eric is standing. The rotation of the earth, how fast the hot air balloon is traveling, the direction the hot air balloon is traveling relative to the earth, wind speeds, etc. it would be pretty hard to drop the ball exactly where he is standing and he wouldnt be able to run to catch a ball traveling at 95 mph so it would almost be impossible. I said almost but if youre willing to do it and get it done, congrats.
Terminal velocity of 5 oz..Oz... assuming your high enough to reach it. Myth buster actually did the penny yest off of the empire state building, way back when
I want to agree with Trevor but the Terminal Velocity of a baseball dropped from 1000 ft is 95 mph. It wouldn’t kill him. But I still don’t think he’d catch it. Prove us wrong Eric. I’d love to see it.
You dropped a baseball from 1000ft depending on if you spin it or not ,the movement would be so dramatic he would not catch or see the ball. Unless if colored ball but even then, Eric let's see this $hit
It’s a privilege to have MLB Legends hangout at the facility with the boys LFG

its already been done by zach hample he got a guy to drop a baseball out of an airplane and he caught it
Honestly for MLB to pretty much ban you and end up doing this, i’d take it all day!
Google literally says terminal velocity of a free falling object is around 118 mph. I'm sure E SIM can catch 118 mph.
Game Over!!! I remember going to Dodger games when I was younger & seeing Gagné pitch he was a favorite in our family 💙

Those hip rotation progressions are probably one of the best training routines I've ever seen on UA-cam. Keep 'em coming.

Which is 50mph faster than when Eric was hitting blitzballs to Austin Shumaker and that was nearly impossible to catch.
No it wouldnt be traveling at 175 mph. Theres something called terminal velocity. Terminal velocity of a baseball is only 95 mph.
Sims: "I'm not dumb"
Well it sounds dumb.
What cam do you use?
about the eric and trevor debate, there is no way in hell you would be able to see let alone catch a baseball from that height
The terminal velocity of a baseball is only 95 mph and it takes about 1500 feet to reach 95. Per Google
apparently terminal velocity of a baseball is between 95mph and 100mph at 1000ft
Peep the BRCC hat.
