this might have been the best one yet! Really enjoy watching these! Seeing different players from around the league allows fans to grow out of being fans of only their teams players but players across the league!
Dude I didn’t know this episode was coming and I just watched Bull Durham this afternoon! This is effing amazing. the writer of the greatest baseball movie ever, two beastly closers from Australia and Canada, and the future 2020 NL cy young winner, I couldn’t be happier watching this right now. Trevor, please never stop doing these. Your bringing the greatest sport back to the people single handedly. I gave up on baseball for years. But I’ve come back to it all these years later and I’m remembering what I loved about this game. Thank you for being you. Also rocks that you are a metal head. You are quickly becoming my favorite player in baseball. Keep up the great work.
the example of what he was saying at 21:26 that came to mind for me is Dustin May and Tony Gonsolin right now for the dodgers battling for a starter spot and they are both playing amazing.
These Bauer Bytes are helpful to get a closer look what baseball actually means from not only other players, but from former players as well as other individuals who enjoy baseball,
31:21, I got caught off guard with the editing/audio synching when Bauer was talking and his lips weren't moving for a quick second there. haha. Absolutely LOVED this episode. So cool to see Gagne show the guys how he threw his change up. These are some awesome stories. Would love to see/hear if there are any stories that got left out of the edits. Can't wait to see more of these!!!
I can't believe the director didn't look up these guys careers before playing, it shows how relaxed this format tends to make things, I love it. It's just dinner with friends with a camera
Such a fantastic video! These guys bring such a good mix of culture and experience...more perspective on pitching and the hidden storylines in baseball than you'll get anywhere else. Keep up the good work, Trevor.
27:49 this was my favorite moment in all of this. The answer Ron gives is something I wish the new generation of baseball understood. All of these teams operating on analytics and not letting managers calculate the human factor of situations rather than just looking at a sheet of paper that says this “should work” when it most likely won’t if there’s something going on in a particular players life.
I watched BULL DURHAM again recently and Kevin Costner was so awesome in that movie. Just full of piss and vinegar, but so charismatic and charming as well. You easily see why he became a superstar into the '90s. My favourite line from the movie isn't even about baseball. It's when Susan Sarandon says: "The world is made for people who aren't cursed with self-awareness." And this is so true. There are so many people out there who totally suck but will go through life having everything turn out well for them, and they'll never know they suck. We often call these people 'sociopaths'.
Thanks for all you do for baseball! You have become someone I feel everyone should love! I have a favor! Could you get Joey Votto on a Bauer Bytes sometime?
I had no idea Shelton played ball. He played with some good players also. That's a good reason why the movie was so good. He experienced the real minor league life
Ron Shelton: Why did you put #37 on Laloosh? Anything to do with Bill Lee? When Crash calls strikeouts "facist", he is quoting Bill Lee, is he not? I interviewed Bill Lee in 1992 at The Just For Laughs Festival where he headlined a night of comedy of sports. But that's another story for when Trevor gets The Spaceman on the show. Awesome mention of Chris Speier too. Another Expo great. Around 1980, I was working as a ski patroller at an all-night skiathon at Mt. St Sauveur and Chris was the celebrity guest. I was tasked with taking him up the chair lift and walking back down the mountain with him as we wasn't contractually forbidden from skiing. I was 18 and star struck, but I remember him being one of the nicest people I'd ever met. Eric Gagne: Mezzant!
Great episode!! Too bad you guys didnt talk about the inspiration for Nuke in Bull Durham....Steve Dalkowski. We would have had insane stories about that dude.
Ron Shelton is in some way responsible for the single funniest scene in a movie ever; Peter Berg's "Butt-whipping!!!" scene in THE GREAT WHITE HYPE. Shelton wrote that movie and I don't know how much of that scene was Berg improvising, but to this day it has me almost on the floor laughing so hard.
Are you kidding me? Dude never heard of Eric Gagne??? Wow... Is that even possible? Gagne is so good that a strike out against the best player to ever play the game wouldn't have been surprising. Gagne was dominant until Bonds stepped in the box. He was in good company. Still how can you not know who Eric Gagne is. San Francisco still remembers that name and it usually meant bad things a comin'...👍
Trevor bauer and Ron shelton should work on a baseball movie for today's generation of baseball players and fans. It's been a while since we've had a good baseball film.
How many Aussies have made it to the big leagues? Not many, I'll bet. Here, if you show any talent with a bat you're usually pushed towards cricket. It's our national sport, and, like baseball in the US, there's a huge support structure in place to guide talented players through every stage of their careers. I don't think there is such a thing for baseball, although I may be wrong.
One-Eye believe it or not there are pathways to the states for young players, a young Sydney 16 year old signed a 1mil contract with the pirates, and there a lots of young talent over there in the minors
@@mattwhite8670 That's cool. I just remember a young Australian guy named Christopher Lane who was in the US on a college baseball scholarship who was murdered in a drive-by. A bunch of thug scum shot him while he was jogging as 'revenge' for the Trayvon Martin shooting. No-one burned a city to the ground over it, if I remember rightly.
Love the Canadian connection in this episode. Eric Gagne is from Montreal and Liam Hendriks pitched for the Blue Jays.....and should have never been allowed to leave. Just saying.
Never seen Bull Durham & in the state of mind I’m in right now I don’t think I need to watch it if it has a love interest in it , love Trevor hope the Reds give him a huge contract to keep him in my home town for a long time .
If the season finale are gonna be some big names like gange and Hendricks then here is me just hoping that end of next season the finale could be you trout cuz we need to here thst mans voice way more often then we do and pujouls for the veteran and maybe for a pitcher role maybe a young star like sixto sanchez but if not and you wanna go all out max scherzer would be fun
Eric Gagne had a late glow up mans looking like he could be a villain in a superhero movie
Best last episode ever. I honestly didn't want them to stop talking.
I wish they'd never stop
Jesus Saves Love God
Anyone know what’s going on with Bauer and his case ?
@@bryannaylor6341 first case was dismissed because evidence was found that he tried to get the girl away from him and then, all of a sudden, ANOTHER woman appeared. That's suspicious... I believe everyone is innocent until the contrary is proven.
@@teachersama funny how all of this started after Bauer was bad mouthing MLB for the way they were handling the stick substances ..
Imagine if Bauer gets that Gange changeup down 👀
Listening to these guys talk pitching is heaven
Who all hopes Trevor is still doing bytes when he's Ron Shelton's age?
Fantastic game today Trevor. Sorry you couldn’t get run support! I’m definitely hoping the Reds go all the way for the NL.
No go braves i like trevor too
papameags 69 i like Trevor but i wanted him to lose because he talked bad crap about the Braves
Mauricio Movilla well he didn’t lose, he pitched one hell of a game and the offense didn’t do their parts.
#CHOPON!!
Andon Toya his team lost so he lost statistically it was neither a win or loss
I had no clue Gagne didn't speak English before the majors. Very interesting
This is probably my favorite episode loved everyone in this but I can listen to Gagne tell stories for hours
Same bro! Wish he was closer within the MLB community
You can definitely hear how Gagne taught himself English. It’s super cool to watch these episodes
Thanks for bringing on Eric Gagne and Liam Hendricks. They were a great choice!
To T.B. and the entire Momentum team, a heartfelt Thank you for this top-notch production. We press forth!
Hmm Bauer learned the Gagne changeup and the next season he’s the cy young favorite. Coincidence?
One of the very few change ups he threw this year was one of the very few total runs he gave in the form of one of Rizzo's two homers.
Rosco Parker a few years ago, Evan Gattis hit a home run off of him in Cleveland on a pitch at his head. Does that mean Bauer’s fastball is bad? No
Eric Gagne looks so incredibly different holy crap
Get hendriks back. Need to hear more from that dude
Yeah he has such an interesting story
I had the same thought. All the other guys were interesting. We just didn’t get to hear much from him.
So glad hes with my Sox now
this might have been the best one yet! Really enjoy watching these! Seeing different players from around the league allows fans to grow out of being fans of only their teams players but players across the league!
Best episode so far, wish it went on for hours. COME TO ANAHEIM TREV !!!
does the bull durham director not know this is going on UA-cam?
Bauer Bytes is just the best, great stories and great people.
Gagne: "Show me your fastball first"
Bauer: *boom*
Gagne: "Really?" o_O

Gagne was my guy. I stopped watching baseball until I saw his intro and the way he pitched. He was definitely the best art his time.
These Bauer Bytes are helpful to get a closer look what baseball actually means from not only other players, but from former players as well as other individuals who enjoy baseball,
awesome to see everyone talking the game and learning the change up grip. so cool to hear about Ron's minor league days!
Crazy how the game brings people together, watching a table of grown old ass men geek out over how to hold a baseball. This game really is a blessing.
This is going to be good.

Best f ing entertainment ever. Greatness doesn't come close to describing how quality bauer is and all he is doing for fans
Bauer absolutely fucking shoved on the mound yesterday and released two amazing videos. Couldn’t ask for more
PLEASE get Brian Wilson!!!!
imagine him and lincecum
I clicked this video half because I love the series and half because of memories of the "Welcome to the Jungle" Gagne entrance.

A's fan here, but we know Liam is scarfing down that food because he play's for the A's, who knows the last time he got a real meal ;)
Awesome!! Best one by far! Thanks TB & Momentum - looking forward to next year 😘
We need more Bauer Bytes!

That would be awesome if Trevor started throwing the Gagne change learned at a dinner party.
These are great. Love the stories
“Beloit snappers? I missed that one”
“You didn’t miss much”
Sad but true😂😭
Favorite Bauer Bytes yet. That was so good!

Gagnes reaction to TB fastball grip was priceless lol "REALLY?" LOL
Ron just caps it off so nicely its even rude to not let these guys talk for more time... great pitcher insights and stories tho.
Best episode yet!!! Loved seeing Gagńe teaching his change up grip!!!
They put my boy Liam through it today smh. Still a beast tho.
He redeemed himself big time in game 3!
@@DweezlePeePants He came through for sure. I dont think he was the one who needed redemption tho.
Momentum is everything I have ever wanted from a fans perspective
Fantastic! This segment was very interesting and entertaining! Thank you very much!
Ultimate pitching nerd episode right here, so good
Might be the best episode
This is a crazy good crew. Wow maybe the best episode yet
Totally enjoyed this one Trevor, good ending to your first season. Love the content!
i could watch them talk about pitching grips forever
Best one yet Trev! Loved hearing your fandom for the boys in blue, hope to see you in a beautiful Dodger Jersey soon :)

Great Episode Trevor !!! Hopefully You and Liam are on the Angel's next season would love y'all on our team great personalities !!!!!!!
Gange explaining the change up grip is fucking legendary
Oh man this is the best Byte yet. pew pew pew!!!!!!
Dude I couldn’t even tell that was Gagne without the goggles and facial hair
Man Gagne has what I would call change up fingers lol
I had no idea Shelton played ball. He played with some good players also. That's a good reason why the movie was so good. He experienced the real minor league life
Imagine taking the ball out of Gagne’s hand when he’s teaching you a kick ass changeup
Awesome episode. I have a copy of bill Durham that I haven't watched and now need to.
I could have listened to that for 2 hours
Really good show!! Thanks for inviting the best player that came out of the province of Quebec!!

Eric Gagne: Mezzant!
"The common language is baseball" that gave me chills.
Gagne asking Bauer to show him his grip ...“Show me your fastball first ....Really”?? 🤣😂.
You’re doing it wrong !
Great stories keep up the content .
As they talk about Ramirez, watching him getting struck out by Chapman :)
Bull Durham def. was how my time in the minors was...we even had a bull in Amarillo that would moo when you hit a dinger lol.
this was so good I wished it lasted 2 hours those 34 mins flew by.

That at bat man…sure they were bother juiced but it made for a level playing field in that encounter.

Gagnes arms are insane!
Excellent stuff!
Loved this epsiode!!
Great talk
pretty awesome episode
Great show. I love this shit. Adrian in Costa Rica here
As an Australian I wanted to hear more from Liam
Gagne lookin' clean, not gonna lie. Good for him
I would love if they could get Grienke on
If I were a professional pitcher I would definitely develop a change, it can be a devastating pitch.

Holy shit is that Eric Gagne?!
SO GOOD~
This was great
Eric gange is the most attractive ball player of all time
Would never guess Gagne was just French speaker to start with - sure picked up the English!
Man I wish Trevor would have gotten through that Jose- lindor power “struggle”
