I like the fact that the 2nd and 3rd places are smilieng at the end , running is such a dificult thing to do that at the end even if you lost the race you feel like a winner inside just because you finished it.
+Samuel Matos That's the thing about running, it's not about how good your bike was, or how fast your car is, it's about you and you alone, and when you've run the best race of your life or even of the week for that matter, where you placed just doesn't seem that important.
+Y10Q Sorry to hear that. I too once experienced a "heart murmur" after a race. Started the cool down then all of a sudden my heart "raced" to an ungodly speed. Most painful experience. I just sat down thinking this was it. Luckily subsided after five minutes. Never told anybody that day even though it showed. People asked if I was ok but I just told them it was the race. Again sorry to hear of your loss.
I've just started running again. Woke the girlfriend up for her night shift. Got my gear on for a run. " don't lock the door, l will be back before you set off!". Got a couple of miles in. I could of just sat watching telly for half an hour. But l didn't.
4:29 the last mile? Are you friggin kidding me? Then throw in a sprint on top of that? Heck I would have had trouble with just the sprint these guys were doing the last 200 yards. Hat tip to these beast. I did triathlons but never at this caliber. Amazing finish. Congrats to ALL of them.
Now that I understand it was a "sprint" its more realistic...I was just thinking I "barely" broke 4:50 for one mile by itself and these guys are under 4:40 for the last mile of a triathlon.....
I’m trying to do a sprint triathlon (@55 yrs). It’s really hard to keep going when you are so tired. Watching them give it all in the last few hundred meters is superhuman!
No - they wouldn't have been in that position if they wouldn't have given their absolute best before. Every moment before was just as magnificent for the ending as the last minute - it was just more exciting to the viewers because it was so damn close
The winner is standing there talking with a smile on his face while the guys finishing a minute after him are all diving on the ground and rolling around like they're about to die. MTFU.
I remember my first and only track meet...I played football but my coaches wanted to see how I’d do in the 800m race. After the race I had no place being in, all the competitors were high fiving and congratulating one another, all smiles. It was kind of surreal seeing the positive vibes. That moment made me fall in love with running.
just listened to her story on BBC witness..just could not resist to see the actual thing.just amazing.this is the best youtube video i have watched so far.
Extremely. They already went through hell and then sprinted a fucking mile. Pure madness. You should check out 100 mile ultra marathons. Those guys aren't fit, they're just insane.
@@howardthealien7961 it's not that far that's precisely why it's so intense. I dont bike or swim but I run. I cant imagine going out maximal effort on a swim, climbing outta of the water then biking mad hard. Then running like a 14-15 minute 5k. And running the last mile in 4:30.
Imagine running a full triathlon and finishing in 4:30 for the last mile. I ran 4:24 in high school and nearly killed myself. These guys just cranked it out like it was nothing
Dejan Popovic great genes they do have, outrageously much they do train, but i belong to those who don't believe this is possible without drugs. a run like this yes, but not after just having competed in two likewise word class events.
+axlrosea675 What you miss is that they haven't achieved world class results in any pre-events (Swimming and cycling so to say). Learn the sport and comment. Drugs and shit. So there were not 2 but 6 athletes from different countries who were running the last mile with a similar pace.
Me: Wow, these athletes are pushing the boundaries of what humans can achieve. They’re giving it their all. Also me: Why can’t they just run faster than the other people?
Actually its been tried. They took some Kenyans that ran 2:20 marathons and gave them swim training and bike training. www.triathlete.com/2013/02/features/the-great-debate-when-will-kenya-discover-triathlon_43016
This race shows how massive Vincent Luis improvement in Olympic distance Triathlon now. From chasing group in Olympic distance tri into lead group/individual in every race.
...that go go juice is good stuff. Got to a sub 4-min mile training from elementary school by the time I was in high-school not missing a day of training (with absurd/natural testosterone levels)... holy goodness how these guys do it at the end of a triathlon when it was never common 30+ years ago while fresh.
I always think oh it’s the last mile just sprint it no big deal, but then I remember I can barely sprint my first mile and that these guys literally went through hell to get to that last mile.
I like the fact that the 2nd and 3rd places are smilieng at the end , running is such a dificult thing to do that at the end even if you lost the race you feel like a winner inside just because you finished it.
As a CC runner I agree
+Nick Park same

belatu yeah : )
+belatu one of the best comments I have seen for a long time, so true!
Brutal....these people make you willing to get out and start running
yeah a friend of mine got a heart attack and died doing his 10k a few months ago at 42
um, no. Walking fast is good enough! LOL.

Tyguy80s humble brag
Not me. I get tired just from looking at them! Think I'll go take a nap now...
By far my favorite sport. Endurance is the single most important skill in every pursuit of life.
olympic distance tris arent about endurance, too short man
@Hank g
Spoken like a true fat ass
*Because competing for 49+ minutes straight is not endurance LOL
That's the dumbest thing i ever heard
Trapped yeah but baseball is😂😂😂dumbass
So true you need to endure n persist in every aspect of life .. these guys have amazing skills..
50 minutes geez, the last 50 minutes I've been browsing aimlessly online.
That's why you’re an amateur. I've been doing that for the past 6 weeks!
KryzMasta pathetic locked my self away from society sine June 16 2010

Fucking explain everything don't be stupid
I think you're the stupid. What you're doing here if you don't speak the triathlon "language"? Get out, teen, go back to Minecraft channel...
I’ve run a 4:29 but never after doing anything before it, like an event like this. Funny how you feel the same whether you ran 5:00 or 4:30.
Rxonmymind that wasnt really a sprint
That 4:20 mile looks more relaxed than my 6:40 mile.
Now that I understand it was a "sprint" its more realistic...I was just thinking I "barely" broke 4:50 for one mile by itself and these guys are under 4:40 for the last mile of a triathlon.....
You mean 4:50 for one kilometer ? :o
Eddie Hahn your still really fast though. I can only do a 5:56 mile
TrafalgarDLaw No, 4:50 for 1609 meters.
Eddie Hahn I’m a 12 year old girl. My average mile is 6:50 my best ever was 6:47. Not the best but I’m getting better :)
Stop boasting.
0:55 great transition in camera work gentlemen . . . hahaha
"camera 2 you're live you're live!!"
"oh, shit.. Im caught!"
He likes ass
ahahhaha
Brian Chang imagine what he’s been staring at the rest of the race. Sickening!
A triathlon is more than a 10K run?
#1 rule: never look back.
never chase singend is the rule 1 :3
I disagree
I accidentally did that in a race because I was looking back out of habit to check for cars since I was crossing the street. 🤦🏼♀️
If I see you look back I Get more energy haha
True. If you look back it slows you down.
I’m trying to do a sprint triathlon (@55 yrs). It’s really hard to keep going when you are so tired. Watching them give it all in the last few hundred meters is superhuman!
after 50minutes of racing they go faster then me after no munites of racing
Me as well. You're not alone.
Then there's also the fact that they swam and cycled for the same amount of time before that ✊😔
It’s more than 50 minutes
Their last mile is 4:29 pace...
@@Eric-lx8hp i struggle with that pace for a Km lol
This is truly amazing. After hours of daily training- swimming, cycling, and running- plus 49 minutes of the race...it came down to the last minute.
No - they wouldn't have been in that position if they wouldn't have given their absolute best before. Every moment before was just as magnificent for the ending as the last minute - it was just more exciting to the viewers because it was so damn close
Much respect to all of them! Doing what is physically impossible for the rest of us !

Real Sport.
Now this is sport at its finest. Incredible.

From 1st place to last. Every one of this guys are incredible competitors👏👏👏.
VAMOS ESPAÑA 🇪🇸!!!!!!
Incredible display of strength and discipline to be able to move like that after the duration of effort is nothing short of amazing.
4:37 Oh my God! Watch out for the cap!
Can't believe nobody notice at 4:10 Mola hat came flying off. And at 4:37 Silva nearly trip on it (or tried to pick it up with his legs?).
Triathletes are a different breed entirely. Fantastic race by all.
These guys, kipchoge, bolt, phelps, olympic wrestling champions and etc are basically superhumans
just listened to her story on BBC witness..just could not resist to see the actual thing.just amazing.this is the best youtube video i have watched so far.
Im wondering on how fit these guys really are... I just ran 5km in the morning and I almost ended up in the hospital bed for oxygen.
TuahJebat9800 😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Lol, U gonna have to train first.
@@mohammedakheelali239 i dont train for em i get around 22 minutes no hospital beds lmao
Extremely. They already went through hell and then sprinted a fucking mile. Pure madness. You should check out 100 mile ultra marathons. Those guys aren't fit, they're just insane.
Man these people are amazing!!
4:54 they all just start plopping on the ground exhausted. Pretty funny.
These men love looking back!!!
People be literally dying at the end of the race 😂
The mental and physical toughness that these guys have are INSANE! Monsters!
The amount of athleticism to accomplish a race like this is crazy.

"Alistair Brownlee looks like someone punched him in the face" LMAO
Mario Mola literally means "Mario is cool" in Spanish :-D
Diego Ruiz
Esto sí que mola chaval!
Y mola bastante!! 👏 👏 👏
That's what I call elite competition,to say the least! Cheers 🥂 to everyone going all in from the start, to epic finish.
Um português das Caldas a bater-se entre a élite do triatlo mundial sem mêdos.Muito bom João Pereira.Parabéns
Day 17 of Quarantine:
Day 380 of Quarantine:
Imagine running a full triathlon and finishing in 4:30 for the last mile. I ran 4:24 in high school and nearly killed myself. These guys just cranked it out like it was nothing
You probably didn’t run 4:24 minute miles in the 5k in high school.
I'm sorry, theres no way on earth i could do this, and its very very impressive.... but also hilarious
How fat kid?
Tomas Munoz lmaoooo
I am proud of South Africa 💪🏼 hope we will win next time.
It was nice to remember this epic race.
Am I the only one who was out of breath when they reached the finishing line?
Also, why do they have their names written on their asses?
Hassan AlQarni wouldn’t be easily visible when they’re cycling otherwise.
It's so you know who's ass it is.
"We are on the blue carpet now"
That's when it got serious!
Crazy how they stayed in good form when you know their bodies are taking a toll
damn...
I got tired from just watching it!:p
wats the total distance?
Sprint distance triathlon: 750 m swim, 20 km bike and they were just finishing the 5 km run.
no it's, what formula91 said. They do two distances in the ITU series, standard distance and sprint, This has the sprint.
Alfred Thorpe I just got shivers from reading that
1500m swim, 40km bike, 10km run
Tom, it took them 50 minutes. There's just no way someone is doing all of that in that time.
Us mortals will never reach this level no matter how hard we try. These guys are born with an ability to condition to massive VO2Max levels
All pros are on the gear
Damn right Dejan. Us mortals don't have the thousands of $ required to purchase human grade drugs and connections for blood doping.
Dejan Popovic great genes they do have, outrageously much they do train, but i belong to those who don't believe this is possible without drugs. a run like this yes, but not after just having competed in two likewise word class events.

+Nikecow Lance Armstrong. Does it ring any bells? Though it was pro race cycling. Anyways, it represented US Postal Service Cycling Team and the US.
4:30 last mile!! What that's my fastest mile time...
Me, too! And I was pretty proud of my 4:32 mile PR from back in high school...
yeah but how much EPO were you doused in?
If I took EPO I would've gone at least 4:31 ; )
Dj Toman whats a EPO?
Brisaydah its a drug
These guys are actually tanks😣❤️
This is one of the most painful sports in the world.. amazing guys.
Mola was the best runner in that group commentators knew jack.
Jon pownall lol there’s a difference between running a mile on fresh legs and running a mile after having swum and biked as far as they have!
Who's jack?
Cornbeef Boi you don’t know Jack?
Nobody expected the Spanish Triathlete.
+Jesús Flores Noone ever expects the Spanish Triathlete
if its mola everybody expects him
Bring in the easy chair.
Well you should definitely expect a spanish athlete in any sport, we are so proud of them and we have many
mN It's called sarcasm, you idiot...
It’s like 100 guys within a minute of each other, that’s freakin amazing!!!
They finish fresh, no sweat whatsoever, wow
Mario Mola y Javier Gómez Noya! Viva España!🇪🇸❤🇪🇸❤🇪🇸
Darnnn that pace... idolize these fellas...
Me: Wow, these athletes are pushing the boundaries of what humans can achieve. They’re giving it their all.
Also me: Why can’t they just run faster than the other people?
I thought they were running that pace for an Ironman I was losing my shit.
omg.these videos are so perfect for traithles to motivate us :)
I like the comradeship between these athletes.
Increíble.

lol. I love it when announcers are wrong. "Murray. Gomez is suffering the most. You can't win every weekend..."
So who won? "Gomez" LMFAO
I always think oh it’s the last mile just sprint it no big deal, but then I remember I can barely sprint my first mile and that these guys literally went through hell to get to that last mile.
Murray and Mola were looking very calm and relaxed, however brownlee looked super tight and exhausted
'Pereira the big head' 🤣
A Spanish and a Portuguese in the top 3. The other could South African, Austrian, Australian, but not a Brit, great stuff!
this time gomez realized that his next serious rival mola

Brilliant finish!

Great finish!
it's insane the pace they're going for it being the end of a triathlon.
My ankles hurt watching this.
Felicitats Mola!! Grandíssim esprint !!
That visor was a part of his plan to trip the person behind him near the end almost worked
It's good he didn't hesitate to take his hat back :))))
Wow what a finish!!!
So was this a sprint tri? Those guys crushed it!
To me it doesn't matter who won the race. All of them are champions.
That’s how I feel after one mile
Cycling spring finished are much more fun. Way higher speeds and much more intense
They all have the same hair, they look like clones with different heights
Rumor has it to this day Mola's cap is still trying to complete the race
