I find the channel's repeated patting himself on the back (whether it s about how he s the best predictor, or other comments he makes) rather unpleasant. I do enjoy watching races on youtube (his and other youtubers') so I ll continue to watch. But I think this needs to be said. Please take yourself out of the narration!

What is it about commentators who don't know that Jakob Ingebrightsen in reality is a long distance runner who are training as a long distance runner but just love the 1500 m run. He has won the European cross country championship every time he has started, also when this was a 10 k run. The talking about this is playing the run into Ingebrightsens hands is showing that you don't know the runners you are commentating. People who realy know his strength have told that he has capacity to run the 5000 m under 12,30 and showed his long distance strength with the world record both at 3000 m known as the hardest WR to beat and the 2 mile record. But he will consentrate on 1500 m while he is still young and just compete at 5 k in championships.
Boinking and "hitting the wall" are terms used when a runner depletes their glycogen stores. Takes a very long race for that to happen to any fit athlete; normally used in marathons. We used "lactating", "knotting up" and or "tying up" in my day. In 40 years of racing I've both boinked and knotted up. Neither are pleasant but boinking drops pace to about 65% of normal. Tying up can be done just a whisker over the line and that's probably behind what happens when a runner fades.
Lactating is a bit erroneous as a racer is technically producing and flushing (or consuming) lactic acid the entire race. When used in this context, lactating means "over-lactating" which blocks the chemistry somewhat.
And, don't every think they're not hurting. This has been scientifically tested by measuring pain signals entering the brain. These guys are enduring pain levels roughly 3x more than a couch potato needs to faint (seriously) and about 50% more than a pro footballer (they tested American football players not rugby) can take before passing out. Just because they don't show it doesn't mean they don't feel it.

There’s Been a bunch of criticism of “The Runner” lately but I watch the content because I appreciate his input and views. Don’t listen to any of the negative chatter. Keep doing what you’re doing. Covering all these wonderful events. Nothing wrong with having a bit of an ego. Nobody else is covering these events(sometimes even the obscure ones) that wouldn’t be available otherwise on other mediums).
