Yep the "Prevent the Drakengard Ending E on the First" ending we got here.
'One dark future no-one survives'
My brain can only take so many references at once yoko taro
Lmao
my brain can only take so many mechanics at once yoko taro
I can’t brain shit Yoko Taro. The music, the mechanics, EVERYTHING!
What are the references
Now if only the references made sense within XIV
I love these early runs that have one person marked like "I'VE DONE THIS ONCE AND I KNOW THE MECHANICS, FOLLOW ME IF YOU WANT TO LIVE"
I chuckle at this cause my 2nd run I legit told my team that "I have done this, but i'm not spoiling any of this till you see it first". The mechanics in this raid deserve to be seen blind.
@@Kalanin399 my biggest complaint about the nier raids is that they have a lot of things that encourage people to run the raid multiple times in the first week.
And then 9/10 times, they die to mechanics too and get everyone killed LOL
In savage/ extreme raids, I mark the person with a triangle, named The Safely Dorito
Why, I am not sure. I picked it up from a JP player, and stuck with it.
There's a massive difference between the atmosphere of the music for this fight and how panicked I was on my first run of this fight, but what an amazing raid series this has been.
Exactly me. I was like, WHY IS THIS MUSIC SO PRETTY OH SHIT OH SHIT LOVELY VOCALS DAMMIT IM DEAD xD
@@bawlzyreviews465 I ran this as dragoon this morning and I was like "let me live my floor tank dreams and cry" every time I died xD
@@bawlzyreviews465 "Lovely music, so calm and sere- IS THAT A FUCKING BUILDING COMING UP TO MEET ME?"
@@AshP210 sings along peacefully when someone yells TRAINNNNNNNNNNN
Exept on the story, it was terrible
The remix using the 13th Chapter Queen Beast song's bells in Kaine's theme really ties the whole series together in a really hauntingly beautiful way.
The rings are also the same graphics from the flower in Drakengard 3. Much like the first boss of Puppet's Bunker is a reference to Drakengard 3 also. Actually, after looking it up; Inflorescence is a reference to flowers which provides heavier Drakengard 3 references.
Yup, we got Queen Beast, Zero, Adam all in a single fight. I'm pretty satisfied.
@@ryu-kazuki698 Yeah but it's just a bunch of references which will be forgotten by the time the next expansion hits. Doesn't help that it's on a throwaway world (the First).
I just want another raid series with good lore that makes sense within the world of FFXIV... Please Yoshi-P, make it happen!
@@silly5905 It's mean to be the reference for fans of NieR series, not for someone who wants everything related to FF14 from the start. that is the point of collaboration.
@@sagenelumbo7183 Return to Ivalice was fanservice for XII and FFTactics fans too and they connected it to FFXIV while keeping most themes intact. NieR would've been better suited for a collab like the Dragon Quest event.
Starting the raid series with Weight of the World and ending with the much more somber Kaine is the epitome of how the Nier and Drakengard series is and they incorporated that feeling beautifully. The slow dread as the truth of everything comes forth and no longer do you feel triumphant, instead you feel worn and a sad understanding
Well specifically how the Okabe games do it. Original DoD was pretty much a hellscape from the start thematically which is why you have Exhaustion as the main theme, and then the rest of the game’s “music”.
I was expecting either the Shadowlord or the Grotesque Queen, but this...this was better than what I hoped for. It was honestly quite beautiful. I absolutely love how it combines Kaine’s theme with the Final Fantasy main theme, much like how the first raid had Weight of the World/FF prelude. It’s been hours since I’ve done the raid and I still can’t stop fanboying about it.
Adding on top of that, there's also the Bells used in the song for Drakengard ending E, and after nearly having ptsd from those bells I'd recognize them anywhere. It brings together nier, drakengard, AND final fantasy in a really beautiful way 😭
The hexadecimal in the boss titles for the first form says some variant of “Aberration” or “Grotesque” depending on game language, and the second form it says “Voice”. So we got the Queen in a fashion too.
Pretty sure it is the Queen. Or at least a form of it
2 years later now we are getting shadowlord xD
Running this on full premade alliance on day one, I like how this soothing calm music was drowned out by people screaming and panicking
This wouldn't be a Mekkah Dee video if he didn't get murdered at least once in the fight
Watching Alliance B pull off the Healer LB3 at 3:47 only to almost entirely die to the towers immediately after is probably one of the funniest things I have ever seen in this game. Well done Yoko Taro you beautiful bastard
Healer: Don't worry guys HEALER LB3
Party: Wait the pillar did not fall.
Oh noes
Same thing happened on my first run. Popped Astral Stasis only for the trains to hit seconds later and flatten 5/8 of our party.
I always hate the extreme animation lock you are in when you use healer lb3. I always get targeted by aoe when i start it and end up getting yeeted. But hey the rest of the party is up.
The mechanics were crazy, the music was beautiful, and I still don't understand the story. So in a nutshell a real Yoko Taro experience. Easily my fav raid since the second coil. God, I miss Sophie's lore videos.
2:05 They really snuck in the final fantasy melody to make us tear up midfight. Well played Square Enix.
it was just raining near my PC
Would be surprised if people weren't bawling at the beginning already
Now thati get to listen better, it hits so hard (not as hard as getting flung out by a damn skyscraper but close)
5.5: i can't hold all these tears
@@segafan1316 fuckers knew exactly what they were doing having Knave of Hearts and Emil’s theme together lol
Watching people get smashed by buildings and trains to this song was something magical.
especially when you see that its the Square Enix Building
F to our fallen brethren
I never imagine a song can give me tears (Kaine's Theme), joy (FF's Theme) and PTSD (Chapter 13) at the same time
I cried really hard when I realized it was a remix of Kaine's Theme and noticing the Darkengard refrences.
Such a really good ending to the YoRHa Raids imho
Don't get me wrong, the fights were awesome amd the music was godlike, but the story was lazy.
@@silly5905 i haven't finished the quests but i still don't know what's happening
@@petrus9067 I can't really comment on why the story felt lazy to me then. Even that could be considered a spoiler.
This boss was literally the only thing I was ever hoping this raid series would do the moment Copied Factory dropped and I was not disappointed in the slightest. Absolutely worth the wait.
I lost my mind when I heard the bells! Then I teared up when the FF music blended in. I think the FF main theme is super underused so I'm pretty happy.
the song is a really lovely celebration of all three series
This song made me want to cry while fighting this boss. Thank you for getting this out so soon.
Kaine's theme mixed with the main theme of final fantasy? this one might actually beat out weight of the world/prelude for my favorite from this raid series
My god I heard the first melody before the lyrics and immediately thought "No.... no you sick fucks no.... you didn't." They did.
I can't see the fucking trains past my tears.
It's named "Kaine (Final Fantasy Main Theme Ver.)"
The only complaint I have is that the Final Song here isn't instant-kill
Cried lots, I love this game and the NieR and DG series
This truly was their final fantasy, huh? Well done. I wonder what his messages will tell us about this.
No matter how many times i go in there....the feels at the very end hit exactly as hard as they did on the first run
Shame Nier collab ends...but it was a honour to ride along on this one hell of a mad ride
The fan service is too strong, every Nier/Drakengard fan is dying right now.
The Final Fantasy Main Theme will be fitting for Endwalker, especially in the moon instance
Such a beautiful song, still so happy I managed to get the orchestrion scroll for it (also that WAR in the Goro Majima cosplay totally wasn't me doing that raid blind with 3 friends going "omg I'm gonna be on youtube in a few hours" :D)
What parts did you use for your glam? I found it easy to make a retired orphanage Kiryu glam, but I gave up on Majima after being unable to find an open snake skin jacket.
This music for some reason calmed my mind to an astronomical degree to the point where I never got hit or panicked by mechanics on this boss since the first time I did it. What a masterpiece
I'm so grateful for this collab, it helped me find fellow Drakenier fans that I never thought would find. On the top of it, all of the raids are just pure fanservice, in a good way. I'm so glad I'm a fan of this franchise ;-;
thank you for the non-spoilery thumbnail as usual... compared to that other guy
These boss mechanics are so fucking cool I love it.
When you drop into Tokyo for some train rides
Have a look at the office tower that shows up just before 6:33 - it's a Square Enix building!
I called it! The third raid would 1000% be a Drakengard inspired boss, down to the music. The mixed in Final Fantasy theme is a really nice touch.
when perlude kick in, i cry... beautifull
It’s not the Prelude, but the FF Main Theme proper, and yes it gets the waterworks for me too ;^(
This raid series didn't go out with just a bang, it went out with the somber chimes of mass human extinction.
Just did this run last night, what an amazing raid and OST!
ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS RAID!!! And I loved how you can see 2 girls in the one boss depending on the angle.
this is literally Yoko Taro telling YoshiP "Fk this, I'm gonna do things my way now. And yeah my new game is coming out btw"
I haven't gotten to this boss yet and I'm getting 'nam flashbacks, bro!
Not just Final Fantasy but Square Enix games always have beautiful music in Final Fantasy VI opera theme still stands up today and that was on the Super Nintendo
This boss is such an amazing tribute to Drakengard and NieR in every way.
As soon as the Final Fantasy theme kicks in as a remix… chills.
I think I'm perhaps crazy, but the Final Fantasy main theme remix on this song really triggers me a Xenogears feeling on it, I cant describe why, that's strange
Edit : Now I can point it out, it slighly reminds me "Emotion" of the Xenogears ost
Legit thought the same thing, but I was thinking the bridge of Small Two of Pieces and Lahan's bgm
THE FUCKING MADMAN ACTUALLY DID IT
Man, I could NOT focus on this music mid fight. Too busy dodging trains and skyscrapers. Nice to hear it by itself like this.
I love this so much I seriously wanted to cry the first time I heard it during the raid LOL
This raid was so fun. Rezz mage feels best when you get to save the raid from a wipe
I was in a party with a Rezz mage, but they keep dying too lol
@@1LuvMLPFiM I feel that
Its a terrible day for rain inside my house...
1st mech of the boss : GET YEETED!
My whole 24 man got yeeted from that mech..I was dying laughing at the fact that it happen like that lol
Most of our whole alliance realised a second too late that it was gonna happen, completely lost it as we only just managed to keep fighting at that point.
Yep... I got yeeted by the buildings too
Not only did we get yeeted, we got yeeted by Square HQ
[Her Inflourescence] So, I just beat this game called Kingdom Hearts 2 the other day...
WHAT A BEAUTIFUL MELODY ! LOVE KAINE SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BADLY
They really just went "fuck it, it's every reference at once" in this raid and it's *wack* and I kinda love it. Also the most fun raid to actually play out of this particular series if you ask me.
Every reference...and all the kitchen sinks in SE HQ as well XD
They really managed to make this one of the best raid in the game, I didn't know if I wanted to cry or be dead focused, the mechanics were nice
The music makes this whole part of the raid feel more like a dance, especially when I go in on Red Mage (plus backup raises are always helpful). I love the trains and getting shot across the platform by those falling rocks. Wheeeee! >^.^
Somebody needs to send this to Clemps ASAP.
This is Kaine’s theme from the first Nier game. My wife and I have performed it for years on piano/voice. We played the raid together blind this morning and almost lost it when that theme started playing. We had just sang it last week!
3:33 My entire party (along with half of alliances A and C) wiped here except for me, only because I had the panic reflex to hit knockback immunity when I saw the indicator. I responded with healer LB3 as with 3:50, except I stalled when I saw the towers start to fall to check that the body pile wasn't under them before casting it again. I didn't actually know for sure that it was safe, but I didn't know the mechanic at all, and if I died, the LB3 would be gone, so I cast a Hail Mary. Pulse of Life went off just in time to raise the party before I got smashed by a pillar. The whole Nier raid series has been an absolute treat and I'm glad I got to experience every step of it on release day, when it was a beautiful clusterfuck that just bodied everybody.
The bells 😱😱
THANK YOU YA CHAMP!
I honestly sobbed when I heard this theme. It's so beautiful.
Rip to that player @ 6:41 you can see falling in the background lol
I dont know what i was expecting in this fight, but it definitely was not Neon Genesis Evengelion with choo choo trains...
I see the Entire Warrior of Light enjoying the pancakes. The Pancakes of *hearing the Voice*
The Drakengard bells!
Hey Mekkah one of your Mobius FF Videos went down it was call Mobius FF (JP) Ex Warrior 3 Ryujin Battle Theme it was one of my favorites what happened?
hi yes can someone explain how the lore ties into drakenguard and nier. i know the basics about the alternate timeline/world think leading drakenguard to nier and all that but what exactly is the signifigance of the orb
The orb is a "Seed of Resurrection" from Drakengard 1, it's something that appeared when all the seals keeping literal Armageddon back are destroyed. Their use is shown in Drakengard 1's ending B to horrifying effect. They're basically plot macguffins that are really super not good for anyone in-universe to touch, it also appeared in Drakengard 2 in all 3 of the endings. It's never stated what exactly they are but they are tied to the gods of the Drakenier universe and are used as the plot demands.
@@Angelegna11 but in this raid we actually get the explanation of what those seeds even are/do: they're portals to another world, which retroactively explains and adds context to nearly the entirety of Drakengard's plot and major events!
@@aeo-gard I thought of that, but with Drakengard 1's Ending B case where it brings a character "back" from the dead (as a monster) and also Drakengard 2's Ending B where its meant to transform a living character as a weapon against the gods it's a little more ambiguous in my eyes as to what it does. The Yokoverse is full of contradictions and loops, and even with Drakengard 2 not actually being considered canon in some people's eyes since YT didn't direct it. A lot of it can be filled in with headcanon too, it gives me a headache to think about sometimes haha. Either way, I love any new addition to the tangled mess of lore that is Drakenier.
@@Angelegna11 oh yeah absolutely, it's the most vile contraption of tangled lore and vague fan theories held by string, but honestly that's a lot of the charm of the series and making/bridging connections. The explanation in the raid personally gives so much MORE fodder for theories and conjecture, because it does add potential context to the series as a whole and how it might tie together (and even explain itself with timeline shenanigans and cyclical timelines). I've been thinking about it non stop!
I do like thinking though that the seeds of resurrection/destruction are still portals to other worlds, or act as the bridge between them, likely to facilitate the coming of The Watchers into a certain plane of existence/timeline/universe
Now this is an avengers level threat

Oh, that melancholic version of the FF theme.
I'm ngl, I had no idea what was happening here so can I get a lore rundown? I don't mind spoilers at all lol just wanna know some insight to this amazing raid! I could go rewatch the cutscenes from the entire quest line but idk if that'll help me understand the significance of the references....like the bells, and the transformations and etc.
I wanted to explain but to point it out one by one would need a whole lecture so just.... find some video that explain Drakengard 1 and 3 and how it connect to NieR universe.
From what I can gather the bells signify the presence of some god like being in the drakenier world and the final boss here is essentially one of or is simply that god. The two red girls showed up in Nier automata near the climax of the game and fired some arc that took all the data of that world into presumably ffxiv. The first two bosses you fight this tier are data forms of monsters known as shades from Nier getsalt/replicant who are actually the souls of the extinct humans from Nier world.
@@edboi2154 The final boss of the raid gave major Kaine vibes and I couldn't tell if it was just a reference or if it was actually Kaine...but this definitely does help!
From what I can tell from researching since I never played Drakengard,
The bells you hear in the boss song is from the fight mechanics of Drakengard in Ending E where you fight the Queen Beast.
The queen beast which is said to end humanity being a seed of destruction(a bit iffy on the details here)
The song in the raid is Kaine Salvation from Nier Replicant, sung in the Chaos Language, the boss herself seems to be a mix of 2P, Red Girl and the flowers on them look like the ones Kaine wears.
The battle itself seems to be taking place in Shinjuku, the location where the Queen Beast landed in Drakengard 1, and also where most of the characters in SinoAlice originate from, and includes some of the Black/White song mechanics from the Drakengard as well.

DRAKENGARD STAGE 13 X KAINE'S THEME?!
Finally. Something linking to Drakengard, never forget my boy Caim.
What do you mean "finally." We saw chaos language and a seed of destruction last time.
@@chstens there was also a glitch in Copied Factory where a red dragon appeared in the last fight
@@GaenBleid Wait what? I don't recall that at all. That's cool though
@@chstens It was a glitch, it spawned in an NPC from a dragoon job quest by mistake instead of some other object.

can you get this track for the orchestrion?
Yes
Really hope this isn't the confirmed ending for Kaine, because that's extremely depressing even for Taro.
1:01 song from Nier replicant
2:05 it's like final fantasy 4 reference music also know for foreshadowing next expansion if I mistake.
2:05 is the FF theme overall, not just IV, so it's more referencing FFXIV/FF literally crossing universes with Nier.
Yeah I learned after 12 that it was the OG FF theme, having started at 7 and bouncing around the SNES ones.
yoko taro is literally the only game creator that i would ever give a pass to for weaving lore to his own game in ANOTHER GAME behind 100+ hours and 80lvs of content
Can Yoko Taro and Yosuke Saito just design everything ever from now on? (Edited because *I can spell I promise--*)
I just really want to know...... what does Kaine have to do with the Drakengard "E" ending? This is her theme from Gestalt, right?
Anyone know the name of the orchestration roll?
*Kainé (Final Fantasy Main Theme Version)*
Tell me why I'm still coming here to listen to this after running the raid 40 times to get 9S
Start listening at 2:04 thru 2:31 and go play your 4x4 order game ^_^
if i play nier: replicant will i understand more of the references in this raid/final boss?
Nah the music is the only thing that connects it to NieR Replicant. This entire DLC is more based around story moments that happen in NieR Automata and this one boss fight being a little bit like Drakengard 1's Ending E Final Boss
I wish I had ANY idea what was going on here. Is the final boss Kaine?
I've watched a lot of videos on Nier (Gestalt and Automata) lore to try to figure out what the heck's going on. But I had no idea who or what this was supposed to be other than Kaine's theme playing withh the FF theme. Which was beautiful, but I honestly have no clue what was going on story-wise, and how this resolves.....anything? -shrug-
I don't think it was supposed to resolve anything considering usually the "end" of the Nier and Drakengard games never fully give the players closure.
@@aaronparshall466 The endings are normally open-ended, but there's generally some lore/explanations along the way (though often requiring additional play throughs), and we didn't seem to get that.
Yet, anyway.
@@SubduedRadical we still have to weekly quest so maybe that will explain more as far as how the story fits into the lore of both FFXIV and the Drakengard/Nier series
@@aaronparshall466 Yeah, I didn't even realize that there was (potentially?) story behind it, though it was just to restore the village or something. Saw Mr Happy talking about how he's reserving judgement until the end of it because Yoko Taro has a history of writing "on the back end" where all the explanation/etc comes at the very end of his works.
Saw some comments about "multiple endings" in Nier/Drakengard games, so people speculating the weeklies might have something to do with "here's how else it could have happened" that might shed some more light.
So I'll go along with Happs and say "reserve judgement until the weeklies have concluded and we see what else there is".
what language is the song? I can't quite figure it out.
Most Nier music (from both Replicant/Gestalt and from Automata) has lyrics in fictional languages that are made to sound like specific real languages, or in the case of a few of them (like Song of the Ancients), not like any one specific one in particular.
It’s called Chaos Language, sung in every Drakengard and Nier piece. It’s a made up language made specifically for the series and it’s combined with real world language sounds to make it up ^^
ahh okay it makes sense now. thanks.
@@NepaliGamer no problem! :D
@@vomit_ghost That explains why the voice acted lines in the raid sounded like something I should recognize but couldn't make out what it was saying.

Lol dying how so many people dying by that rock fall🤣
i started crying so hard during this fight i actually could not see the mechanics

I'm glad I wasn't the only one
What duty action are you talking about?
@@BARogueAssassin ah, it's moreso the rings section at the very end. i was mixing it up with agrias's shield/sword segments as i was thinking about orbonne while writing that comment
the only duty action is the hacking sequence, right?
Can anyone tell me what language is in the song?
It’s a completely made up language by Emi Evans called Chaos language!
It has hints of Gàidhlig, French, Portugese, Spanish, Italian, English, and Japanese. However the bigger twist is hints of those languages are after 1000 years of further development from today.
someone has the lyrics of this song ?
There are no lyrics! It’s a made up language called Chaos Language (or Angelic Language) and it’s quite literally gibberish, so there’s no meaning or lyrics behind them ^^
Kainé's theme mixing with FF tunes... But Is this final boss..... Zero?? Because if it is, I'm gonna cry right now!
I really wished that 2B and 9S could have stayed in our world.
:(
sadly they can't since as the ending hinted, they return to Earth for the Nier Automata True Ending. Seems this story was basically how 9S found 2B again and ended up where they did in Nier Automata True Ending.
@@orrthehunter Can you explain to me the story of NieR? Or any other references in the raids? I'm fine with spoilers.
@@1LuvMLPFiM It is better to go through the game through a complete video on youtube because to explain the entire Nier storyline will require probably multiple books worth of detail.

Even if you did, this ending specifically is mostly Drakengard so even Automata players would be pretty confused lol. But the majority of the raid itself is definitely Automata
@@Leticro actually, even as an automata player, you'd still be missing context for the first two bosses and who they are/what they represent, let alone why certain mechanics are there, but the third fight in particular is SOO rewarding as an automata fan
@@aeo-gard yeah, I meant to say the raid series as a whole lol. It's all Automata until this third raid.
