BMW N54 Exhaust Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement 335i EASY under 5 minutes

- In this video, I show you how to quickly replace your camshaft position sensor. The only tools needed are an E8 Reverse Torx socket, a ratchet, and a little pick for the connector.
We used an eBay sensor and it WORKED! It was about $11 dollars for the sensor, but we always recommend BMW or OEM equivalent part for these cars.
Took about 5 minutes start to finish and is an easy job. Let me know if you have any questions or comments!

I have this code and also have a crank no start problem any suggestions?
Late but get a scan tool it is 100% necessary. The DME will detect what is wrong and put you in the right direction. For example crank and no start could be a sensor that looks just like this called the Crankshaft position sensor and the scan tool will detect this fault. OR a high pressure fuel pump not delivering fuel. You will get a code for this as well.

My car said engine malfunction power reduced and I thought it was my charge pipe but I put the code reader and it says the camshaft sensor hopefully it fixes it

Do you know what size o ring those sensors use?
What were the signs of malfunction? what was the error code
What are the symptoms of one that could be failing?
Car will throw a code for it and won’t feel right. The n54 should feel powerful and torquey from the factory. This caused the car to run real bad and once we replaced it, the car felt alive again!

Did you need to unplug your negative battery terminal first before sensor replacement?
I personally didn’t. Never a bad idea though!
I have a question, can you help me? Do you have to drain the engine oil to change that part? Or can it be changed without having to change the oil?
You can do it without changing the oil!
So I’m aware that there are two sensors. One intake and one exhaust. Are they the same sensor? I can buy two of them and install or is one specific for intake and one for exhaust

I have a 2013 328i and the camshaft position sensor is a pain in the butt to remove. No room At all on the intake side.
Was that the exhaust cam sensor or intake cam sensor
