You guys are life savers/money savers, it’s been two years since my bmw stopped running no crank no start. So many people told me is trash junk it and I almost gave in, just two days ago I got it to turn over. Now I just have to figure out why is not sparkling once that’s done boom the car will be back running. And this is the video that is gonna make that happen in the name of our creator amen..
So basically testing it like the crankshaft position sensor? Easy. In one of my customers cars, it turned out to be the fuse next to the dme for the Crankshaft position sensor. These videos are indeed helpful for a young guy like me.
I have a obd1 95 325is that I just put a brand new oem crankshaft position sensor in. still throwing code. I have heard since crank and cam are on the same line to dme it may be the cam sensor. going to ohm test cam sensor now and report back
Thanks
Ash from Scotland 🏴
I fixed my CEL with the P0340 and the car runs like new. What I have learned the hard way is not to use ANY other brand than the BMW original part OR VDO (Siemens or Continental). There are brand names like Hella, Meyle or Bremi who have excellent products normally but BMW's are very special about their sensors!
The problem many people miss is that a new non-BMW or non-VDO CPS might work exactely like the old damaged one; Making people believe that the problem must be in the wiring or the Crankshaft position sensor; BMW must have a failsafe system that it still runs with the "wrong" sensor making the problem so hard to diagnose.
There are horror stories in the forums where people replaced harnesses and DME's just to find out that the sensor was the problem after all. The car might still start with a non-oem sensor; before you rule out the CPS as the problem make sure that you put an VDO or BMW sensor in it. If it still doesn't work get a second replacement one from BMW directly. A new VDO one is like 90 dollars a BMW one about 150 - after spending hours tearing the car apart just think whether 150 dollars is really that bad to be one the safe side!
What you guys are looking for is a digital square wave 5v that gets pulled to ground when the metal reluctor wheel passes by the sensor and that’s how it knows the timing of your engine. Keep in mind that’s why these guys were showing you this info.
I’m getting 2.5v on both sensors...they both go down to 0 when I put screwdriver on the root of the Sensor....
@@samah713 you have codes? Should be a 5v ref
@@weldingjunkie yup. At first I got a code for the sensor on the exhaust side...now I have a code for both sensors
@@samah713 feed in a 5v from either the power probe 5v adapter or find a 5v from another circuit and jump it into the cam sensor 5v ref see if code goes away. You need to find out why you’re not at 5v there’s voltage drop in the wire somewhere prob the connector or it’s grounding out
@@weldingjunkie I'm going to try that. Thanks bud. Hopefully its not ecu
Very informative.thanks
잼나게 보고가요.
Big help love video
Awesome thanks
2012 e92 bmw 335 car is in reduced power mode and I can’t figure it out these are the codes
P10E5 Internal Control Module Error, Control Circuit
VVL
P10F5 VVL-Control Phase V Circuit Open (Bank 1)
I have 12v on both signal and power
why am i getting 12volts on my signal wire
Hey i have a 2005 bmw 545i i did everything you video said i fin out the I get no voltage on come out the camshaft conetion but i don’t know what could be if is a fuse or module can you give me some information please
i have 0 reading on my negative and ignition wire. is that bad fuse?
Nice video
Getting famous off comments day 187, so I can live the dream, live everyday like it’s your last day🤙🚀🤙
Hi
Not getting 5v
Any ideas
Great advice. ...can you make a video on how to upgrade the body kit on a 2007 328i ...for example), how to upgrade front bumper and grill of a 2007 328i... Which newer model body parts fit on 2007 328i
Your battery was at 7v so pretty dead, but still got 5v on ignition wire. I had 11.7v but only 2.4v with ignition on? I can’t figure out why I’m not getting 5v? It does 0 when I hold a socket to it. Any idea. Thanks you so much for all these videos. 2007 x5
Maybe a relay ?
Did u solve ur problem?
Similar thing happened to me. Got 12.4 on both sides instead of 12.4 and 4-5 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️help
@@testosteronbadid you ever figure it out? going thru something similar now.
1997 540i. Getting 12V between yellow and ground. Any thoughts?
Voltage goes to zero when close to metal...
Ok guys
Dude, I would like your videos but there is toooo much empty talk
Way too much. Actual content 1 min, beating around the bush 20 mins
