That's brilliant. I had no idea you can buy lighting kits for Hot Wheels, they look super-cool. I'm gonna get some & give them a go. Thanks for showing this.
Lol. Loved this customisation. I agree with your preference of using smaller battery. Plus if I may suggest, if the hood can be raised, then maybe install battery there. The battery would become the engine which wold be a reality. Also if possible, maybe fit the sensor somewhere on the top portion. So that in stead of picking the car up and touching magnet from below, I would like to touch it from top. Well i bet its easier said than done. Here i am just commenting, i am 100% sure that I wont even be able to open the car. Great work. Its really amusing to watch you work on these.
Nice work! The only tip I can offer is what my pro-bro does to hide the lights glowing in the wheel wells: use black electrical tape formed into the shape of the wheel well. This requires you to put the wheels on last. The final result is great.
Love your work. I'm wondering if it would be possible to light the dashboard by thinning out the backside of the dash, or removing the dials completely and placing a printed or drawn plastic or paper section with the instruments with an led behind so when you turn the lights on the dash lights up as well.
Saw your comment that you were building this one from the kit review video. Turned out great, thought it seems like the rechargable battery kit would be much easier to work with
Mine too. 70-73 and 74 after they changed the nose and rear. I've always had a soft spot for 74 because they were a bit of a mongrel. The first year for this, the last year for that. It was basically the same as the 75-77 but just different enough to be a really unique year for the Camaro. The 78-81s were ok too. I was just starting to drive in 83-84, and got my license in late 84, and for us, because of their age, those were the quintessential Camaro. They were just the right age for hand me downs after the parents were done paying them off a couple years earlier. By the time 86-87 came around, a few of my friends had them and started modding them to not be mom and dad's car anymore. Not me though, it was several years later before I got one. My hand me down after my das was done with it, or so he thought, was a 77 Chrysler Newport 440. Shortly after that I got a 82 Plymouth Gran Fury Police Interceptor because Dad wanted his car back. Yep, I was the only kid in school that had a police car
@@diogomarques1512 In this case; any man could say it you know which is, "I wish I was a kid again." That's if you listened and watched; the 1988 Rated PG-13, comedy movie called 'Big.'

@WheelsNThangs : Did you do the second and refined version of this video with the other parts that you mentioned at the end of the video? I can’t wait to watch that bit too. I downloaded this video to try on my toy car. Can you make another video, one using a ‘92 BMW M3 by Hotwheels with small batteries, a switch & also MENTIONING the size of the lights that you use for Hotwheels / Matchbox scale cars?
Great build! Do you ever sell any of your finished products? Also do you take requests builds? I'd like to see you do a Batmobile or some other movie car.
Where did you find the magnetic switch, and how did you wire it? Did it just replace the micro-switch, or is there a special kit that has it? I checked through TechNickL Designs and didn't see it.
If I ever needed a hot wheel this is the one I'd want for sure. Although my favorite Camaro is the late 80s early 90s model (my first car). I somehow found this video in my feed.
Looks great! Too bad you couldn't get the rally wheels, I normally paint all the window trim too but Hot Wheels doesn't always cast them.... Still looks awesome! I've have to do it to mine, it's my favorite paint scheme on my favorite gen Camaro!
I would love to see that done on a M2 JL green light Orr Auto World they are already so detailed putting lights like that on them would be super crazy but Hot Wheels aren't really 1:64 scale not true anyway so I don't know if those lights would work
Where can you find the 2 - 56 button head screws and tap I've looked all over the place and I refuse to buy it from Amazon because it'll take too long to get here from the states. I'm in Canada and I shop at Canadian Tire and apparently nobody at Canadian Tire has even heard of those things can somebody help me please
Only places I know of are Amazon or eBay. I doubt you will find them local. www.ebay.ca/itm/Button-Head-Socket-Cap-Screw-Stainless-Steel-Screws-UNC-2-56-x-3-16-Qty-100/172430120383?hash=item2825a2d5bf:g:z8IAAOSwXeJYF3a8:rk:1:pf:0
Does your car not heat up when you're drilling?! This happens to me when I'm only adding lights to a car. The paint tends to bubble up :( My solution to this small problem is cold-drilling. I surround the car with ice cubes = no paint bubbling from heat.
Dude you're like the Bob Ross of customizing hot wheels!! I can't wait to do it now!!
Awesome work! The car has been literally brought to life! Wish I had the patience and skill to pull off such a masterpiece as this!
After a stressful work day, it is always relaxing and a pleasure to watch your videos.

Im new here and i really like this channel already 😍❤❤❤ keep up grandfather lol
EDIT:OMG HE LIKED MY COMMENT
Very cool! Not a bad looking mainline to begin with but you improved it 200%. So glad you cut the goofy roll bar out.
'77 TA would be phenomenal!
That's really sick, never thought of lights in a hot wheel....not since micro machines. Awesome Job
As a Hot Wheels custom builder and stalker ( LOL ) Love this build. I need to find these light kits.
Ha!
Yea. Need the light kit to
I can't find them either

From far, the best custom i've seen thank you !
Love it. And you are right that a TA would have been so cool to see.
Nicely done can I be cheeky and ask where you can buy the lighting kit from do you have a web link
That's my favorite camaro as well. Great job and love the color!!

WheelsNThangs I think these kits can be used with fiber-optic, would be great to see what can be done given enough time

2nd gen Camaros are also my favorite as you can see from my profile pic. This car turned out fantastic!

I never had seen a toy car with lights. Congratulations. A great job and a beautyfull car ;-)
Beautiful custom don't know how many times I've watched the video. Do you have a link to the LED lights or where can I buy them from
Thank you! I think the user is NickLDesigns on Instagram.
Very cool! I made a custom out of a mainline ‘83 Chevy Silverado.
Very nice choice of body style. The lights, wow!
'70 split bumper, nice taste!
Dualshock GT3 split bumper was 1970 and a half , changed mid year right?
Nice lights, where can i find them, they will look cool on Grand Nacional the boss against camaros, trans am n corvetts. Superb job
In the 90's you can get a Happy Meal with a light up Hot Wheels car. You got any? 🚗🚕🚓
Here in Portugal those cars arrived later, like in 2010, I have 2 of them
I never told you that I'm suffering profusely from a flashback when I, didn't leave any of my hot wheels toy cars at home.

Great job! What kind of electrician you use, where you can buy it, I really liked that it is a magnetic switch!

Great video. Quick questions, what did you use for the chrome paint? Does it come in gold or bronze? Thank you.
Wasn’t even looking for this kind of thing, just happened along... How flipping cool. Had no idea this was a “thing”. Very cool indeed!!
