Exactly how salty HLTV had been overnight
People say that s1mple deserves #1 because of being mechanically better, but they don't realise that inspite of being mechanically better, s1mple doesn't manage to get as many impact kills as ZywOo. s1mple has the highest k-d/ kpr in the world, but ZywOo has the highest impact rating. This is because ZywOo gets opening kills, multi kills and clutches more than s1mple which obviously has more impact in winning the rounds. s1mple is surely better mechanically between the two, but he lacks the skill of effectively putting his mechanics to use for the round win. Like HLTV said, ZywOo deserves the #1 spot for being more impactful and having more MVPs

@@dredevilhalo516 that's the overall impact rating, his impact rating is way higher in big event playoffs than in group stages. HLTV probably weighed that as a heavy factor in deciding the rank, because s1mple leads in all the fragging related stats like k-d/ kpr/ dpr

Among other youtubers that does this content, s2d does it the best, putting all the effort to collect all the player's highlights spoiling us with some 30min frag highlights. Others just show popular highlights thus making it just 10min short but this guy put in all the work. MAD RESPECT SIR. Putting all that aside, 2020 has been a great, for csgo atleast. We have one of the closest race for number 1 and this time, the french baguette has proven himself once again bagging that number 1 spot for 2 consecutive years. Zywoo truly deserved that with his outstanding year with all the mvps and tournament wins. S1mple on the other hand has continued to show us why he's one of the best. Navi had some low points but they were consistent enough to be ranked the 3rd best team. For me personally s1mple is still my goat, but zywoo trully deserve that number 1 spot. I'm not taking anything away from zywoo just to clear things up. Kid's a beast in all aspect of the game and with just so little time, he just burst out in the scene in 2019 and immediately grabbing that no. 1 spot, but still i still enjoy watching s1mple more due to his balls of steel and unorthodox game style. I hope these 2 gods will continue their battle in years to come. Thanks S2D for putting all the work you the real one, hats off!

he is very much insane and already, in my opinion, the second greatest player to ever grace the game of Counter-Strike (S1mple), in terms of skill, but he didn't come from nothing. The dude was BORN for this game. His date of birth is the literal release date of CS 1.6: 9th November 2000. Zyw0o has been dominating French/European FPL for years, long before 2019, his mother just didn't want him turning pro until he graduated from secondary school. I just don't want people thinking players can just come out of nowhere..... Zyw0o has been known to be the god that he is for years.

@@fablez That is as much as an argument for zywoo as it is for s1mple. Both were back-to-back #1 with the other being #2 on both occasions. S1mple is way ahead of Zywoo in terms of longevity & accolades and therefore his place on the list of greats is naturally higher. However, these past 4 years where they split the #1/#2 rankings, it's really up in the air and to say they aren't in the same realm is not a very nuanced take, rather that of a young person. I stand by that zywoo is a fundamentally better player than s1mple right now, and his career has just begun.
I know these are just some 'ez' editing but for collecting multi-kills, clutches, vac shots, etc. is really make this channel masterpiece. Even the player highlighted vs eco or force buy round is here, the one that mostly dont get attention. Keep on doing what u doing, u are masterpiece for cs:go highlights!!!
P.S. I'm still pissed with hltv that shox and/or rpk didnt make it to top 20 but its ok I can just watch some highlights

For example I’ve been making s1mple’s video pretty much the entire day today... or oh well to be more specific, 6 hours of editing and searching for clips and then another 5 hours of rendering (which of course isn’t me doing it, but ye).
But yeah that’s an example, other videos took me less. I will put a brief summary of this series into a pinned comment tommorow.
Clearly the best player in the world since last year. Crazy multifragger, insane with pretty much everyone weapon in the game, incredible accuracy, consistently delivering in big games, can entry when needed, already one of the best clutchers in the world, and a selfless teammate who prioritizes his team over himself. I've never seen anyone like this guy and I watch CSGO since the GTR and KennyS old days.
sounds like simple except the selfless part 😂😂. they are pretty similar with the skills on guns but the way vitality and navi are setup are pretty damn different. i wonder how simple would do in a vitality like setup.

You can't compare s1mple and Zywoo, Their teams play totally different. While navi do their best to make s1mple frag, vitality focus way more on teamplay. This HLTV ranking doesn't makes sense and shouldn't be taken that seriously. But it must keep being a thing, it's fun. To me there are point on which s1mple is better wherheas zywoo is better on some other.

Unlike s1mple, zywoo does not have a whole team playing for him, a lot of times he is their entry fragger and does not lag behind despite being the best clutcher in the world. He also does not chase eco frags.
s1mple plays for stats and has a team that plays around him so he can boost his stats, zywoo plays for the team and has the same stats as s1mple does.
It is clear who is the better player.
Basicly in CIS qualifier, there's no such thing as MVP since it's meant for major (the real mvp starts there), but in EU qualifier, there is MVP awards... ZywOo got 3 free MVPs there, and HLTV said to s1mple to blame Valve for that!

S1mple was never the goat anyway. Nothing in s1mples career justifies goating him over device, while zywoo is the perfect argument to strip him even from the yearly half non-sensical hltv awards too.

Now show me a long time successful team with s1mple while he keeps up with his stats. If he's the best in the world surely he'll find a competent team in a decade.
You see the difference with device and zywoo to s1mple is that they paved the way to a team to be a part of, not to have a stranglehold of.
We cannot compare device and s1mple statistically in any meaningful way, because one has all the opportunity to create stats, which is a huge boost to his rankings, but on the other hand the consistency the other can have is near impossible to achieve without a systematically strong methodical team.
You can cry me a river of s1mples stats, and I can pick some player from being the most successful fpl player (moreso the individual side of csgo), I guess even dychaa did that, but it doesn't help get us closer to what is the best counter-strike and who can actually play it.
Once s1mple has shown that he can even for one year maintain both the top team while putting out "the best stats" I'll consider joining in on this stats blindness, but as long as individual stats don't correlate with game and tournament wins I'll ignore it as the best measurement for skill in csgo.
Csgo isn't revolved around kills, it's an objective based game, and whatever means necessary get you win more objectives is the higher tier cs. I doubt anyone considered ence #2 skillwise or performance wise, but back when they played very impressive astralisky cs they made it there without players that are considered top 20 right now. Despite the fact that sergej is supposed to be a top20 capable player, after all the catastrophical changes we don't really see him on the leader boards anymore.
Being a top player and being allowed to play top20 hltv cs are very different things, and this applies to the higher spots as well. Why is niko all the sudden a top player hltv ranking wise? Surely it doesn't have anything to do with having a role change giving up responsibilities of igl shackling his ability to frag? Similarly, despite not being the igl device has a lot more statistically hurtful responsibilities to the team than s1mple has. S1mples biggest responsibility to the team is the most hltv rank boosting play-style, frag without dying. It's not a bad role or something s1mple does a bad job of, but it does reward you differently than setting up a teammate with a flash, while it might not win you any more games, it might even win you less.

Zywoo's success is a result of his team being able to support him and set him up nicely and a stupid amount of gamesense as well.
s1mple on the other hand feels that he needs to do everything on his own.
A team is also a really important factor in determining your hltv ranking ig...

The only reason s2mple got the #1 title in 2018 is because ZywOo's not yet in the league. ZywOo is far greater than s2mple. As long as ZywOo is in the league, s2mple will always be below ZywOo

Misuta was nobody at that time, had zero experience playing in a pro team, and everyone trolled him for going 0 kills on one of his first games with Vita. Apex was a meme and nobody thought he would become a great igl after Alex left. Shox is called many times as washed up pro, named for his diva attitude which made g2 kick him. Rpk too. One of the older dudes and everyone thought his time is up due to age. This vitality bunch definitely wasnt looking better on paper nor before covid hit compared to Navi. Electronic already a top 3 rifler in the world, perfecto was named an exciting prospect. Flamie has always been a solid fragger, and boomb14 came from a hot team that made into the playoffs of a major.
@@JoeMama-sd2kl yeah but that was 1st half of 2020.....it's been 6+ months since and Vita is functioning like a proper teams with solid strats, teamwork and firepower. They actually win games without zywoo going crazy compared to NaVi.....you can prob count the number of games where NaVi won WITHOUT s1mple topfragging/madfragging on one hand cuz it practically never happens
@@nathanchilton8917 yes. I agree that Vitality plays better as a team because they changed their entire system. Zywoo gets less luxury and space so that players like Shox and Rpk can excel. Navi should do that too. Give electronic and flamie more room to work with, take away s1mple's luxury as a player
