Never saw the Trees but had the pleasure of seeing Mark twice with Mr Dulli. Once with The Twilight Singers and once with The Guttertwins. Mark is maybe the most underrated singer songwriter of the 90s.
When Lanegan sings "I think I'm gonna die" you can believe it. He looks very ill. Brilliant performance by the band though. One of my favourite riffs ever.
Woo witness the power of ginger hair. Lanegan and Homme have been playing great music for years. Homme played at the Trees live shows and Lanegan has sung on QOTSA's 'Rated R' and 'Songs for the...'.
Mark is GOD ,Screaming trees is 10000000 times better than Nirvana but few people understand it . FUCK EPIC record, MTV and nu-metal!, This world is not the same without Screaming trees
Why compare them or say they are better than some other band? Why do this? Art and music should be about how the band makes you feel, the joy you get from listening to them. In no part of this band's craft does it suppose you should disparage any other band. At the end of the day the lead singer of BOTH the bands (both were brilliant talents) you mention were junkies. Should we be proud?
It is an Epiphone - a 1958 Epiphone Wilshire Batwing model (made in the Gibson factory at the time)... I should know, I bought it off of Gary about 5 years ago =O)
It's taken everything Everything I've got and it's hung me on a line Water rising up over me And I think I'm going to die, think I'm going to die I told a lie, that's what I said I told them one you know I'll always keep Whose God is mine Whose God is mine Whose God is mine Whose God is the one with the witness Shine your lonely light on me I'll be there to hold the mirror I could take you down with me Show you lonely, lonely, lonely Death wastes no time it seems And its hung me on a line, hung me on a line Heartbreak falling all over me And I think I'm going to die, think I'm going to die I told a lie, that's what I said I told them one you know I'll always keep Whose God is mine Whose God is mine Whose God is mine Whose God is the one with the witness Shine your lonely light on me I'll be there to hold the mirror I could take you down with me Show you lonely, lonely, lonely I told a lie, that's what I said I told the one you know I'll always keep Whose God is mine Whose God is mine Whose God is mine Whose God is the one with the witness Shine your lonely light on me I'll be there to hold the mirror I could take you down with me Show you lonely, lonely, lonely Shine your lonely light on me I'll be there to hold the mirror I could take you down with me Show you lonely, lonely, lonely Lonely, lonely, lonely
Aye, I wasn't expecting Lanegan to come on stage when my mate and I went to see them on the SftD tour, but there he was. Only a couple more bands for me to see before I can die contented. And Waits is coming up in a few weeks!
The band became more popular than Lanegan gave them credit for. The fact that they were playing Rockpalast as a headliner means that they had a pretty good following. Especially in Europe.
Thank you for the video! I really enjoyed it! I am a big fun of Screaming Trees and I really miss them! By the way, Gary Lee's guitar, what marque is it? Gibson, I suppose, but what model?
This was when his health was at the lowest point,I think this is around when his heroin addiction was compounded by a growing crack addiction. If im not mistaken this was the tour where Mark was arrested for trying to buy crack from an undercover cop which led to his court mandated 8 months in rehab after which he recorded the excellent "Scraps at Midnight" completely clean and sober. Ive read interviews where he said it was the most fun he's ever had making a record.
@Jason1805 whats wrong with it. we have the mars volta, arcade fire, broken social scene, godspeed you black emperor . and i imagine there are a few more good bands out there somewhere lol but yes you are right the 90's were the best era of music
Alright mate...It's a VINTAGE 1958 Epiphone Wilshire, one of the last Epiphone's to come out of the Gibson factory, as they were then. I bought it off Gary around 2002/03, and I paid something like $450 which was around £250... It plays BEAUTIFULLY! * I just noticed, at the bottom of the comments, I mentioned to someone else about the guitar - 10years ago! LoL!
who's god is mine? the one with the witness. L-A-N-E-G-A-N!!! check out him with Dulli and the twilight singers doing Massive Attack's Live with Me. Woa....
You will be missed, Mark.
Too much
..and Van...
Seeing Mark performing here... mirroring the song/lyrics oh so painfully it breaks my heart💔This song is epic🖤
R.I.P. Van. :(
you're welcome, I'm glad there are still fans!
Dust-Era-Trees were perfect. I miss you mark. Rest in peace brother.
Gary is tearing it up and has the best energy you could ask in aGuitarist
Never saw the Trees but had the pleasure of seeing Mark twice with Mr Dulli. Once with The Twilight Singers and once with The Guttertwins. Mark is maybe the most underrated singer songwriter of the 90s.

Goodbye Mark, thank you for everything!

Miss you Mark Rest In Peace 🙏
Josh is just a baby here.🤘😍
When Lanegan sings "I think I'm gonna die" you can believe it. He looks very ill.
Brilliant performance by the band though. One of my favourite riffs ever.
RIP Mark. 🙏
Nooooooooooooooo
this song is awesome
Mark's great!
Woo witness the power of ginger hair. Lanegan and Homme have been playing great music for years. Homme played at the Trees live shows and Lanegan has sung on QOTSA's 'Rated R' and 'Songs for the...'.
He sang on all of them, just not the first and the last one.
Mark is GOD ,Screaming trees is 10000000 times better than Nirvana but few people understand it .
FUCK EPIC record, MTV and nu-metal!, This world is not the same without Screaming trees

both bands were fucking incredible.
Killer performance love this song
Amazing version, here. Thank you for the upload! RIP Lanegan
That backwards roll near the end is amazing. Love this. So energetic. :D
one of the best songs
That shit Gary Lee does at the end basically informed Jack Black's entire rock schtick.
Hilarious! I think you nailed blacks source on the head. He definitely saw this video.
It is an Epiphone - a 1958 Epiphone Wilshire Batwing model (made in the Gibson factory at the time)... I should know, I bought it off of Gary about 5 years ago

Damn, as I would have liked to see Screaming Trees Live!!!!!

GNR are awesome....as are screaming trees.....and i just noticed Josh Homme is playing Rhythmn!!!!
*GnR are fucking garbage and not fit to lick the Trees' boots

GnR as in axl, slash and co? ??
Oh I see, you're being sarcastic. Lol
It's taken everything
Everything I've got and it's hung me on a line
Water rising up over me
And I think I'm going to die, think I'm going to die
I told a lie, that's what I said
I told them one you know I'll always keep
Whose God is mine
Whose God is mine
Whose God is mine
Whose God is the one with the witness
Shine your lonely light on me
I'll be there to hold the mirror
I could take you down with me
Show you lonely, lonely, lonely
Death wastes no time it seems
And its hung me on a line, hung me on a line
Heartbreak falling all over me
And I think I'm going to die, think I'm going to die
I told a lie, that's what I said
I told them one you know I'll always keep
Whose God is mine
Whose God is mine
Whose God is mine
Whose God is the one with the witness
Shine your lonely light on me
I'll be there to hold the mirror
I could take you down with me
Show you lonely, lonely, lonely
I told a lie, that's what I said
I told the one you know I'll always keep
Whose God is mine
Whose God is mine
Whose God is mine
Whose God is the one with the witness
Shine your lonely light on me
I'll be there to hold the mirror
I could take you down with me
Show you lonely, lonely, lonely
Shine your lonely light on me
I'll be there to hold the mirror
I could take you down with me
Show you lonely, lonely, lonely
Lonely, lonely, lonely

And of course Mark Lanegan was in QOTSA as well.
This is so fucking great 😍😍😍😍😍
Aye, I wasn't expecting Lanegan to come on stage when my mate and I went to see them on the SftD tour, but there he was. Only a couple more bands for me to see before I can die contented. And Waits is coming up in a few weeks!
Rip Mark and Van!

I wish mark and van conner was alive, reunited and visit Cluj-Napoca for gig. I was born in wrong time and place and I’m not Romanian as well.
Powerful band. Powerful!
after all they were really close friends...even Lanegan admits that he had learned a lot from Layne =)
Saw them in 1996 at Randall Island.
rip legends mark and van
lllllove the Screaming Trees!!!
Thanks very much for this video. I love S.T. 90's forever!!
But I think the real grunge comes from the Green River music.

@Ekyvvsaq not a problem, you're right there.
Oh, you're so lucky!

he has a book coming out, scheduled for June 2017. wonder if he'll go on a book tour & reading, do Q&A.... that would be great

Love your username! =oD
nice.
@Chained2Alice Just a very stupid question.
Why does it hurt?
GOOD VOICE,
R.I.P. Mark...
@Jason1805 whats wrong with it. we have the mars volta, arcade fire, broken social scene, godspeed you black emperor . and i imagine there are a few more good bands out there somewhere lol but yes you are right the 90's were the best era of music
@Chained2Alice where did you hear that, is there an actual interview or are you just making shit up?
mark looks pretty healthy :D
whatever...one of the best voices ever! all the trees are awesome!
@Chained2Alice okay, it just seems like lots of youtubers says they know alot with no sources... sorry
Please can someone tell me what kind of guitar Gary Lee Conner uses in this video? Thank you.
+Daniele Picchi Gary lee Conner uses a Epiphone Wilshire from the 60's and Josh Homme plays Ovation
Alright mate...It's a VINTAGE 1958 Epiphone Wilshire, one of the last Epiphone's to come out of the Gibson factory, as they were then. I bought it off Gary around 2002/03, and I paid something like $450 which was around £250...

van connor is soaring
fuckin good
Reunion ...please..haha
Luis Paulo Rocha. Mark Lanegan is touring 90% of the time in Europe!☹️☹️☹️Wish the Screaming Trees would reunite again!
that's hard to happen
@MardraumGhoul If you're refering to osistherocker post, it means that Mark is not in the greatest shape, because of his drug dependency at that time.
Their music is indie trees

@TrentCobain Herion maybe?
