Welcome to Jinjer. Yes that was Tatiana, not a mic trick. This band is amazing and worth a follow up reaction. I suggest "Perennial" live at Wacken. Good reaction (Subbed)

you did indeed have the pronunciation correct the first time.
Jinjer is the band name. the singer's name is Tatiana.
given how you liked the vibe to the softer parts, i personally suggest your next stop be at Judgement & Punishment , followed by Vortex.
    welcome to Jinjer 🤘🤘

They aren't metalcore. That tag was slapped on them in the very early days. They are prog (progressive metal). They blend R&B, jazz, reggae, soul, punk, pop, ska, rap, and more into a unique blend of death/thrash/core metal.
We fans have a saying, it's just Jinjer doing Jinjer things.
You heard Pisces. They don't have another song close to it. Each song seems to be a one off, and unique.
Welcome to a deep rabbit hole if you decide to go down it.

Welcome to the Jinjer rabbit hole, it’s an adventure well worth taking, I have been a Jinjer fan for about 6 years now, I never stayed as fan of any one band this long before. Jinjer uses a lot of Jazz as a foundation for their music they have also used reggae mixed with metal. Tatiana is a world class growler. They are from eastern Ukraine where the Russians invaded they became famous after they had became refugees.

Hey bro! Great reaction! I'm glad you enjoyed Pisces. Me and my brothers and sisters of the Jinjer Army hope you keep going down this super interesting rabbit hole!
Jinjer is one of those bands that's hard to categorize. They defy labels and pigeonholes bro. People love to have a label for everything, so they're sometimes called Metalcore. But that's just one part of their sound. Metalcore generally just means heavy guitar sound and a singer who screams. You won't find the R&B in other Metalcore bands. Jinjer blends genres like a dang food processor.
What sets Jinjer apart for me is the high quality of the clean vocals and the harsh vocals, along with the crazy blending of genres. No other band does it as well. It's mind blowing how easily and quickly they jump from one feel to a completely different one--and somehow it all makes sense!
The crazy singing in the chorus of Pisces is an example of what is known as harsh singing, or extreme vocals. It's a primary feature of Metalcore, and also of death metal and black metal. Apparently there are four different ways to sing harsh, and different people do it different ways. I never really liked extreme vocals much until I heard Tatiana. Her tone, her diction and pronunciation, her control, her passion, captured me right away, like they did you. I had to hear if that was real or what, so I checked out a live performance with Perennial. It was love at first listen. I knew I had to see them live, and as luck would have it, they were on tour and playing near me two weeks later! I saw them in Atlanta and they instantly became my favorite band. They are SO good live bro!
There's a Chicago coach called Melissa Cross who explains harsh vocals well. There's some disagreement and confusion about exactly what Tatiana is doing. She herself doesn't understand the mechanics of it. Tatiana is just a natural. She figured it out on her own, and developed it through countless hours of practice. She's one of a kind. And the rest of the band members are just as talented as Tati, if maybe not quite as shocking. I'm a pro bassist, and for me Eugene is one of the top bass players on the scene. They're as tight and groovy as any band I've ever seen.
It's the blend of different styles, the cohesiveness, like a well oiled machine, that I love. Her voice is a God given gift, and she uses it like nobody else.
There are a few other bands out there who exist in the same kinda space, although none as awesome as Jinjer. You might check out Spiritbox, Ankor, Future Palace, Arch Enemy. All have female singers who can sing and scream really well. Also Periphery, although they have a male singer. All of them blend different genres together. The blend is different for each band, and sometimes from song to song. You'll hear some ambient, progressive rock, even dance music.
Anyway, welcome to the family brother! Everybody is welcome. All ages, genders and ethnicities are well represented and accepted. Most of us don't care much about those kind of labels. We appreciate variety, and quality. We're gonna turn you into a headbanger before you know it! I can already see that head bobbing, just waiting to bang!

Jinjer is the GOAT! Perennial live at Wacken next! Then Judgement & Punishment one take vocal! Welcome to the Jinjer family!
Also if you like R&B…checkout Sleep Token! They merge R&B, Soul, Hard Rock, Metal, etc. Really genre redefining.

You’ll never meet a finer group of folks than Jinjer fans. We’ll be right here with you every step of the way if you decide to take the magical journey down the rabbit hole! After the others mentioned Vortex, Teacher Teacher, Wallflower (it’s mostly all clean vocals and spectacular), Disclosure. Two of their most aggressive songs are Sit Stay Rollover and Mediator

Believe me, this isn't the norm for metalcore. Jinjer is their own beast :) they add different styles into their metal.
If you want to have some fun, may I recommend 'Let It Burn' by AVATAR. And no. Not the blue people ;)

Welcome to Jinjer. It's pronounced ginger but with a J. That's all her. Perennial live at Wacken shows her talent well.

Great reaction guy. When the war in their homeland of Ukraine started they all volunteered. They were told to continue touring and support the cause. Tatiana Shmayluk is a berserker and might have turned the tide of some battles on her own. Floor Jansen with Nightwish is a Valkyrie. Maria Franz with Heilung is a priestess. Aurora Aksnes is a serious/fun forest fairy angel.😊
