This is an incredibly difficult track to perform live.......the sound, the lights, the production, the stage direction, the film crew, the performance......everything is just mind blowing.......when a band performs and sounds better live than in the studio, you know that you have hit on genius
The Pulse Tour (saw them 5 times) was easily the best overall concert experience I have ever been to. I have been to over 150 concerts (almost all of them for major artists or bands) and Floyd's sound quality and light show are completely unmatched. One of my friends once commented at the end of the first half of a concert (they break for intermission) that he felt we seriously underpaid for our tickets and thought we should give them more money. And it was only halfway through the show! And as cool as that stage looks on video, it is nothing compared to being in the 15th row center where you are dwarfed by the stage, the lights and lasers all all going above your head and behind you, and you can feel the heat from the explosions, and when they hit a bass note so low and loud that you can't actually exhale until the note has subsided.
Dave Gilmour on a lap steel guitar. He's one of the greatest all time all round musicians. His string versatility knows no bounds. Has played bass on some albums too.

It took me 3 weeks to recover from this concert, I was sitting in the first level up above the floor seating in the fourth row straight on with the middle of the stage at the Superdome in New Orleans, LA. I could feel the heat from those fireballs all over my body as if I were right in front of them. And this is how they ended the FIRST HALF of the concert as they went intermission. Think about this - that wqas the end of the FIRST HALF.
I met David Gilmour in 1984 back stage at a concert in Hollywood Calif. He gave me a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shock both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well.

I'd seen Pink Floyd a few times before this 1994 concert. When this concert tour came to the San Francisco Bay Area at the Oakland Coliseum I waited in line for 3 days to get tickets. I got tickets for all 3 nights. On the 3rd night a low cloud cover was blowing in over the stadium and the laser lights would light up the clouds making for a whole new light show experience. Definitely one of the best concerts I've ever seen. I'm 73, and I may be old but I've seen all the cool bands... I have the DVD of this concert and it's something you should see in full.
This is one concert I'll never EVER forget, was so lucky to see it live it as well. Never end up seeing another band doing as well as they did! You guys gotta see the whole concert to see why!

Comfortably Numb always gets reviewed on UA-cam but actually it was this song, played just before the interval, that made you realise that you were seeing something really special.
Yes, for me too.. The whole event was just awe inspiring, almost too much.. But not! lol. When leaving, you were filled with this knowing, that you had been privileged to witness something very special. A musical performance & show, that probably will never be surpassed in your lifetime! Being a life long Floyd fan since from early teens (55 now) & hanging on every precision played note.. I was overwhelmed by that precision & sheer power, that is our great Pink Floyd! 🇬🇧
Definitely the BEST STAGE EVER! I seen them in Chicago on my Golden Birthday 🎂 in the 22nd row 22nd seat on May 22 framed my ticket in a hold frame! Best concert of my LIFE!!! No CONCERT BETTER! And I've seen a few!! It cut me in little pieces 4 sure!! 😍🎸😍😎
I saw them twice in 1994 and it changed my life for ever. First concert was the usual set list as you know it from the PULSE record while the second concert was the set list changed to the whole DSOTM. The crowd was always very different from concerts of other bands. As the whole was an experience of a lifetime and the crowd was aware of that people just sit there, enjoyed what they saw and heard and noone or only very few ones thought of jumping around. And yes, there were always as well some weed smoke in the air... 😎👍
This brought back memories of my first time hearing Pink Floyd. It was at a "party house" that I had NO BUSINESS being at, especially after midnight on a weekday! "Being there" was a life changing decision in sooo many ways! I was never the same in any way. Thank you my dear friend, John Martin! RIP. ❤🕊🙏
If you really want to see a stage blow up you're going to have to react to Pink Floyd's 'Run Like Hell' Pulse concert. It's the last song of the concert and it's the ultimate climax. Enjoy.
I remember buying this CD new, It had a red blinking light like a pulse. Drove us nuts after a few hours. You've never seen a case disassembled so quickly. lol.
About time guys!! 👍 This took the roof off, on the night! And yes, when leaving the venue, you just knew that you would never see such an amazing performance ever again! Just incredible!!!
One of these days try the Mona Lisa Twins' acoustic cover of "Wish You Were Here". Their covers of classic rock tunes are sensitive and honest. And they are sisters whose harmonies are absolutely spot on! Happy travels G&P.
Me too! See long winded comment above (or below) you. It was a gas watching them. NOT KNOW what was coming for them. Like hearing it with fresh ears, again.
You guys just continue to react to the BEST of the BEST music and performances! Incredible. This is why I come here every day. Police officer: Do you know why I pulled you over? Me: No, officer. Police officer: You been listening to Pink Floyd? You seem to be under the influence. Me: One of these days, Sir.
It's great to see they were all having a great time playing. Everyone on stage are really good musicians and they played together on a few tours. Guy Pratt the bass player is much underrated!
There used to be a Pink Floyd laser light show in San Francisco. Kids would get so stoned and lie down in the Planetarium and watch the entire concert. It is one of the single best times of my youth!
This is what you call the full cataclysmic Floyd experience. The energy ,the heat , the use of props, and the audience stunned to silence and awe making PF the live act to beat, and lets not forget some epic musicianship. Loved it. Try Money live from here!!
Pink Floyd does COVERS of Roger Water's Masterpieces. If you wanna see The Real Deal + PROPS you gotta get to ROGER's FINAL CONCERT "This Is NOT A Drill!" ua-cam.com/video/SoOIa0Vm6gQ/v-deo.html
You two are my favourite reactors. The look of expectation on one of you having seen and heard it before, and the look of shock and surprise on the other hearing it for the first time. Great reaction guys.
I saw the pulse concert in werchtet in belgium and I brought my 13 year old son with me .He is now 40 years old and he still talks about it. If you want to see the ultimate version of this song , check out "live at pompei" ,it really highlights Nick Masons amazing drumming. At one point he loses a stick and takes a new one without missing a beat, mindboggeling.
Yeah guys, your comment on the size of the stage... I was fortunate enough to see them on this tour, at a baseball stadium in San Diego (Jack Murphy Stadium). So when I get into the stadium and see the stage setup, I'm thinking "Oh, this place isn't as big as I thought, the stage takes up most of the width"... Then when the people walked out on stage, they were like ants! I said "Holy Crap, that stage is HUGE!" As amazing as the stage, was the Sound! I could not believe how good it was. They actually engineered the sound system for each venue on the tour. There were speakers around the entire stadium, so it was Surround Sound! They installed baffles in certain places, based on the venue, so that the sound from the various speakers wouldn't interfere with each other. I have never heard sound at a live concert that comes anywhere close to it... you could hear every nuance of Gilmour's guitar, and everything else. One thing to pay attention to as you watch the various songs on video, just because it's interesting, is the number of Props that they use. Every song has a different set of props (spinning lights that rise from the stage floor, pyrotechnics, etc.... and the crazy Pigs in this song!)... along with the amazing lights and video that are used on all of the songs. Notice how each one of the colored "stage" lights on the framework not only change to many colors, but they actually spin all the way around the framework, which creates patters on the large backdrop (bowl), as well as the circular video screen. That sort of thing was unheard of at that time (1994). They did so much cutting-edge stuff for this tour! OK, ENJOY!!
This song was the first cut on Meddle, which ended with "Echoes" - two of the most intense PF compositions ...which was the first true window into the genius they had. You two show the amazed reactions that mirror when those of us heard this stuff for the first time 50 years ago. Keep it up - if there was any real justice in the world of music, you would have 100,000 subscribers by now.
We weren't chilled - we were stunned! The Floyd just pinned you to your seats from the first notes of SOYCD to the last note of Run Like Hell. And, no, I've never been the same - I think Gilmour changed me on a cellular level!
Saw that show in 1994 at the Olympic stadium... they did 3 shows of 85K people in 3 nights, was there for the third show... This will forever be the best show I have ever seen... MUSE is a close second and I have seen many concerts... Just WOW
I'm so enjoying your "out of body experiences". We who lived through those incredible times motto was, party hardy, rock till you drop and boogie till you puke. Oh the brain cells! Greetings from Canada
I just can't say enough how much I love your reactions to some of the greatest music written and produced of all time. And this one - from the Floyd's Pulse concert (their best live, IMO) - is such a good version of the song. Keep up the fun work!
Guys, I love your reaction. This whole concert is perfect. You should do the whole playlist that you haven't done yet of this concert. I will be all smiles. It's an absolute MASTERPIECE!!!!. Keep up the good work.
Trust me, there were numerous times during the concert, i swear I thought the bass/low end was going to make my body explode and I couldn't have been happier.
I went to one of these shows on this tour, they did a few nights consecutively. After the gig, we walked to the train station and not one person spoke, none of us knew what to say.
They used a smaller stage in this video , in America I saw them at Cyclone Stadium at Iowa State University June 14,1994 and the stage looked the same but way bigger, it was 180 feet wide by 80 feet high i cant remember the depth but it might have been 80 feet also. They had over 300 speaker cabinets and surround sound. The circle of lights in the middle is moveable and can tilt forward almost to horizontal. The circle was 30 feet across and weighed 15 tons i think. That concert was soo good. Its the concert by which i judge all others!😄👍☮
Thank you for coming back to Pulse and watching this song so soon after doing "Sorrow". I knew, the two of you would LOVE LOVE LOVE this Masterpiece. I have noticed people talking about hardcore drugs and other intoxicants as the reason for the crowd being so chill. This concert series was performed when ¾ of Floyd fans were in their 30's or older. I will repeat a comment I read on a different reviewers page in his review if Sorrow; We went to these concerts EXPECTING a spectacle and the great bands dully obliged the fans wishes. I know that the concerts I go to I find that chilling to the music and letting every note, every beat to flow into and around, enveloping, every cell and molecule in my body to be THE WAY to truly live the show. Even Metallica, the most I think I did was nodding my head, no thrashing it all around. I just love your responses to great music, you make this old man smile... Great job guys...
The original studio release of "Meddle" turns 50 on Halloween 2021! Just amazing live version here as they close out first half of show. I must say the lyrics were perfect. 😉
You would love the 1972 Pompeii concert video of this song. It focuses mostly on Nick Mason. You will really appreciate his drumming when you watch the video.
I like how everybody is suprised when the song ended 'cuzz they expected longer solo.....like forever!....😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
This was the last song before the intermission, which was a good thing, because we all needed time to recover!
“One of these days I’m going to cut you into little pieces” must be one of the best lyrics in a song without any lyrics ❤️

Thank you so much DUDES!!
I remember buying this CD new, It had a red blinking light like a pulse. Drove us nuts after a few hours. You've never seen a case disassembled so quickly. lol.
Lol... I'm the opposite, still have mine and keep changing the batteries ever since. Is a permanent fixture in my studio 😊
I'll say it once and I'll say it again.... how mind blowing and amazing is it that this concert was in 1994.... light years ahead of anyone
Oh my God man! Love, love, love your reactions! LOL! Feels good to not be so normal!
Thank you James :)
LOL James! I hear ya 😂
About time guys!! 👍 This took the roof off, on the night! And yes, when leaving the venue, you just knew that you would never see such an amazing performance ever again! Just incredible!!!
"Run Like Hell" Live from Pulse Next!!
One of these days try the Mona Lisa Twins' acoustic cover of "Wish You Were Here". Their covers of classic rock tunes are sensitive and honest. And they are sisters whose harmonies are absolutely spot on! Happy travels G&P.
You guys rock this reaction, i;m going out of my mind watching how much yoour enjoyint this.
Me too! See long winded comment above (or below) you. It was a gas watching them. NOT KNOW what was coming for them. Like hearing it with fresh ears, again.
Thank you so much :)
And again....my youth......1971. So happy those days.....
Those daze...
‘Animals’ album. the whole thing is amazing.
It’s an amazing album!
LOL!
I was at pulse earls court and every track is at this level.
I was there.
I cannot explain.
Words are not enough.
Jealous ...
Just wish I ad a TARDIS dunni?
It's great to see they were all having a great time playing. Everyone on stage are really good musicians and they played together on a few tours. Guy Pratt the bass player is much underrated!
You have to do 'Run Like Hell' from the same concert. It's mindblowing! As is 'Sorrow'. :)
How is it that you young guys can actually like music I grew up with? Thank you for bringing back my long lost youth!
Thank you for watching :)
I saw them in 1994, Yankee Stadium. The acoustics of the stadium made the show The Best Ever!
I said "Holy Crap, that stage is HUGE!"
As amazing as the stage, was the Sound!
OK, ENJOY!!
"Terminal Frost" is a beautiful Pink Floyd instrumental that not many react to. Would be super cool if you guys do!
This had been my 4th Floyd concert since 73's Dark side of the Moon. They were all ahead of anyone else. They played in quad way back with DSOTM.
Loved it! Great reaction to these masters. Pink Floyd. Never before. Never again.
So nice to see 2 guys that love Floyd as much as I !! Thanks for an incredible reaction.
Always a favorite song ) I never knew the reason for the one line until this year. 70's til now and I had no idea.
I was there the night it was filmed. Best concert I've ever been to.
Glad you did this one, great performance as common for Pink Floyd, keep it up
Thanks for listening! :)
Got many left? Haha, me either.
Thank you!
We will! Thanks :)
I'm tripping watching y'all tripping .. LOL .. great Saturday jam!! Keep up the great work. Thnx guys .. peace out✌🏼🤘🏼💞
