Dude 800$ cost more than the gun !
ACRO P2 competition
Not worth it.
That’s the deal with optics, especially as you get into high end magnified scopes. Often times more expensive than the gun. This red dot is probably way overpriced though. Sig definitely wants that sweet government contract money.
800 DOLLARS?! Damn
Rip off
$800 for a Sig when the Aimpoint ACRO P2 exists for $600 tells me the Sig price is purely a government contract price they pulled out if their ass.
acro p2 sucks
@@ClitoridectomyGroypertf!? And where do you arrive at this conclusion? I got $$$ that says you are either noguns, or own Holosun products.
@@OneD33pTX
My acro p2 is legit
@@SylentONEsame bruv.
@@OneD33pTXthere’s quite a few reports of ACRO P2s having multiple failures. Moisture inside the optic, cracked glass under normal use, battery only lasting a few months and parts rattling around inside the housing. Not to mention how massive the optic body is for such a tiny window. ACRO is overall a failure for Aimpoint standards imo. It’s just not a great design. Currently I think the RCR is the only enclosed non Chinese optic worth anything. Hopefully SIG drops a useable Romeo M17 with the Romeo X enclosed using a normal footprint.
Trijicon winking In the corner right now. 😂
It’s so cool there’s no screws visible in this Chinese optic. They will back out internally and jam when you least expect it.
Wrong. Screws come with locktite on them already.
@@Ayang1125 Right, that’s why all the M18’s in our armory had to be gone through at CATM because rear sight plates were coming off.
Can’t wait for Sage Dynamics to break it
u can get an aimpoint with this price
I’ve had 3 sig optics and they all blew ass.
Damn man... tell us how you really feel 😂
Which ones ?
Know, hold on!🙄 yeah they are not the best when it comes to durability but, sig optics are some of the crispest and sharp dots out there! And if you have tried more than one or two optic brands then you would know this to be true. So don’t just be this hard on them just because you had too much to drink and they may have touched you in a way you may not have liked!😆
@@kamdenhoward3494 sig optics are cheaply made and the price tags are high because sig fanboys will buy anything they drop. I’m sorry but whether it’s pistol dots or rifle dots/scopes, I will never buy a sig again. Give me holosun or vortex over that bullshit all day long.
Lies.
“No screws visible” huh? How about the tiny little scroows holding those cheep-ass black plastic buttons on the side of the optic?? Hmm🤔
The optic window is so blue holy cow
Right. I thought the video got plunged into a pool. 😂
Or it might have protective film, prevents scratching, that you need to take it off before use. 😂😂😂
@AppleTechPro870 its not that. It's that blue I've seen probably every video on yt about this optic
I own one, and the blue tint is about the same as a rmr
Sig wouldn’t fix my brand new Romeo 2 when I sent it in for a fix, but the store I bought it from agreed that it was defective and gave my money back, never trusting Sig again!
That sounds like a stretch. That's a very emotional decision.
Bullshit. They have lifetime warranty
@@mattysee24I had nearly every new Sig with Sig optics and lights and they knew that. Even the M400 with the Romeo setup. The guy I talked to on the phone was lying and I caught and called him out on it! He then sent me an email stating he would send me the replacement.
@@Ayang1125100% not BS! Sig CS said there was nothing wrong with it BUT before I sent it in, they made me take pictures and agreed it needed to be looked at for repair. So I sent it to them and they sent it back without repairing it. I took it back to Sportsman's Warehouse who agreed it had two dots and refunded my money. It was after the 30 day return policy had expired. I got rid of all my Sigs after that and won't be back.
@@Ayang1125 Definitely not BS!
Holosun red dot has the same thing for any gun you may have has 2 moa or 65 moa
I know it says M17 (and I see the packaging behind it), but it looks exactly like my “M18” did before I did any customizations.
The optic is named the "Romeo M17"
That pistol is obviously an M18, the reason it says M18 on the slide😅
So if the screws do back out they will jam up the internals and cause a catastrophic malfunction.
Use Locktite, problem solved
@@joe3USA I still wouldn't like the fact that if the screws somehow back out the gun is out of commission. Locktite would most likely work, but Murphy's law is still in play.
I think id rather do a small spot weld on the screws than trust locktite for this
@Joe3 USA1st rocksett it and it will never move
Loctite red if you really don't trust blue. It's not like you will need to take the dot off, since the battery is replaced from the side.
Also, just spot check it whenever you field strip to clean the slide.
I like seeing screws 😌
Gotta admit that sig makes beautiful firearms but the trial and error mixed with the probable reliability scary
Great, I need One !
I used to break my optic off racking my weapon on its holster. I like how the iron sites would still be there after that inst of firing off the corner of the slide.
I trust sig like I trust herpies
😂😂😂😂
Why must Sig insist on attaching the rear sight to the optic plate/cover? I bought a sig p365xl a year or two ago after 15+ years of carrying mid sized glocks, and I am so happy with my decision.
That being said, for some reason(despite the regular p365s not being like this), they mounted/attached the rear sight to the optic plate/cover, such that I can't switch it out for the irons of my choice(not that the X-ray sights are horrible or anything, just not what I prefer), but even worse, it makes it so that I lose my rear sight if I mount an optic, which I am leaving mote and more towards doing.
And in typical Sig fashion, wouldn't you know it they changed the XLs(all versions of the 365 I think actually) so that they now have a seperate rear sight dovetail behind the optic plate. So I guess now I have to buy a new slide.🙄🙄
At least this new one gives you a rear sight and a dot.
There's a handful of rds on the market with integral rear sight.
THEY NEED TO DROP THE COMMERCIAL ONE AT THE SAME TIME IM TIRED OF WAITING!
Is that the one they're shipping on the m17x
I'm on the budget 🚂 here I'm using the CT-1550 $75 from PSA works just fine on my 🔫 & I'm extremely happy to have it!!
We are living in the golden age of firearms.
I love my m17
I like it, particularly the multi-recticle feature. More MRD options out there, the better for all us. My hope is a version that can mount on any pistol, not just for Sig.
That actually looks really nice
It's nice, looks like a television sitting on top your gun
The best built Optic ever😅
Have you tested it?? Most likely not 🙄
@@Highgear145 Definitely not the best ever built
@@gun1817 Subjective of course
@@Highgear145 no that's pretty objective especially when you throw in rifle optics on top of other pistol optics since this is the “best built optic ever” period, eotech and ACOG are both going to be better than this, but let's be more fair, I'd probably take the Trijicon SRO and I'd probably even take some of the Holosun offerings over this even if money wasn't a factor
@@shadowcastyt I have all kinds pistol optics from different manufacturers and different models....I tend to only make my judgement of "The Best" when I've owned and tested the optic for myself ...unlike some other people they think a high price tag translates to being the best product
I hope the quality is worth the $800 price tag. I thought about buying a Romeo zero for my 365 until I read all the issues of batteries dying in 2-4 months.
I really don't trust sig on anything new. It seems more and more like half their development budget is just going straight to lobbying.
Im really unimpressed by their lineuo these dsys i think no one was selling the gun the mikitsry shouldve adopted. They upgraded for iraq and afghanistan but downgrsded for ww3 and our taxes didnt go down at all but at least the magazine capacity went up
Yup buying 2 of these when it drops
only problem is the civilian version can't keep the back sights.
A Sig optic (or Sig anything) the "best built ever"?!! 🤣😂 That's some good crack you're on!
The SIG P220 and 226 which are still relied on as combat pistols?
It is the best. Try again Glock fanboi.
Glocks are outdated relics.
@@darrengarcia4937oh jeez here we go with old news again.
Try again
That is Beautiful
Looks beautiful 👌👌👌
Looks like SIG is following the foot steps of Holosun.
Doesn’t matter if the frame cracks and the whole back end of the slide fails Lmao
*ACRO GEN2 enters the chat*
Sight picture is laughable
@@AlexZ32 have you used it or held it? I rather liked it.
@@gunguru7020 just held and looked thru, not fired rounds through it
@@AlexZ32Same. Personally I was shocked at how bad the ACRO was when I looked through it (large exterior frame) and didn't like it when I shot it. I liked the R17 but haven't shot it to know all of the issues. I am hopeful cause its awesome
Yup and they released the compact version of the Romeo X (which is the civilian version of this optic) but they haven't released the full-size version yet
How do you change the battery if there's no external screws?
I dont love Sig optice. I have a Romeo Zero on my P365 because thats what they put on them when they trick them out themselves and because I got a good deal on it. For one everyone (all the gun stores Ive seen) seems to run it without the housing. And it looks so cool and sleek without the housing but then everyone complains that they banged it into something once and it broke. You need that housing and it just doesnt look nearly as cool or sleek. Its control button is like inside near the actual lense and you cant access it without smudging the lense up with a finger print. Plus that dot itself looks like a smudged fingerprint. Lol. Its just not crisp. Finally even though there are 8 brightness settings its like 1-4 is too dim and 5-8 is way too bright.
Try a pipe wrench for the thread protector
❤ absolutely love it by far my first choice if i ever work up the guts to end everything
The mounting thru the bottom isn’t new to sig… it was already done on the p365
Looks nice
I’ll take the red dot, you can keep the 320 platform
I ate the cost felt it was a good in investment!
Very nice
Do you think they could integrate a camera into these at some point? Might be useful to record shooting incidents in courts?
So since you install it via screws from under the slide, likely means you'll have to remove the optic just to change the battery. Which means to re-zero your optic after a battery change. Like the Romeo Zero optic (threw mine in the trash).
You see that big circle thing on the right side of the optic..... Yeah that's a battery
I would be very excited to see a video where they learn more about how to actually use it then try to apply it to the katana and vise versa.
"what they're saying ... what they're saying ... what they're saying" So what? They say lots of things.
No need for this product, already far superior handgun sights on the market right now.
I would imagine this is the same optic print as the M18
Delta point pro foot print fits both m17 & m18
If you know the difference between the M17 and M18, you can clearly tell that the optic is already mounted on a M18 slide.
IN MY FN 5.7 I HAVE THE HOLOSUN EPS AND IS HALF THE PRICE AND WORK PERFECLY.
Nice
Long as the screws are good and don't fall out
What if you prefer the iron site in front of the window instead of behind it?
Then buy something else.
I wonder if there is potential for the mounting screws to fail and lock up your pistol
the screws coming from the bottom is an issue. Weve seen these back out and then get sheared off during firing!
Ill stick with my holosun eds with solar failsafe ty
My sig optic died within a year. My Holosuns and Eotechs are still cruising years and years later.
Nice gun
So, is the rear glass recessed to a depth that makes it difficult to clean?
So I don't get it?... When the screws fall out they jam your gun?
i need this
Got to be durable if big army is going to use it
Laughs in trijicon superiority
Facts
Except that glass. I love Trijicon but after replacing my MRO with a Romeo 4T it kind of ruined Trijicon for me. Trijicon could be on top if they swapped to aspherical glass like Sig yet they still run trash glass with a slight magnification and awful distortion. SIGs glass is currently second to none (EOTech doesn’t count as it’s a holo sight). Sig does make some cheap Chinese optics I wouldn’t bother with though.
I just wish they would have done something different with the battery tray.
Don’t worry it’s only $800 but sold out everywhere unless you buy ones that are selling it for $1000+
I subscribed after watching this video
I wonder if the factory rear night sight will bolt on to the optic?
So when will this be available for the civilian M17 and M18
I think Aaron Cowan will make the determination of whether or not it's the most durable optic on the market lol.
Insane price but looks cool.
That is a m18 sir
Great so now the screws can back out on you and you won’t even know because they’re under the optic and when the optic flys off it’s taking your rear sights with you. Nice sig, nice…
Loctite red....
@@dixonbourne you’ve obviously never seen what kinda damage a Joe in the army can do with red lock tight and a T15 T10 torques bit….
Does the optic mount with only the one screw
Can you fit a 7.62 round in there??? Asking for a friend
I prefer the Holosun EPS or SCS for SIG.
Nice.
Looks good gonna suck when that pistol AD’s in their holster though
but did he mention the trouble of replacing battey, Trijicon and Aimpoint be like ok lil fella calm down.
Year later we still don’t have an enclosed optic for the general public.
imagine if you could put this on the x macro oh my oh my
The commercial version is the Romeo X Pro
And it’s not a closed emitter
$800 for re-branded Chinesium is crazy😂😂
*clear glass has left the chat*
Does this work with the California M18?
Would this fit the m18?
Do they have one for.the m18
If it's anything like the M17/M18 it's going to need half the optic replaced day one of release.
Hear me out, any gun or piece of gear that has a government contract should have an automatic discount applied to the citizens. We already helped pay for those contracts with our taxes. Also, there should be no government models vs civilian. It’s one and the same
they better have one for the standard m17/18 that we already bought
Of course they’re gonna say it’s the best ever.
Will forever use holosun
Safe to assume it’s for the M18?
Fits on m18?
Does it fit the M18?
