Thanks I didn’t remove the old tape, my shafts are wide, and didn’t use water soluble tape and it got stuck. Irons out of action temporarily. It’s the tape.
I've been doing grips for almost 20 years but all of a sudden, I started having problems with "stuck" grips and wasted too many grips. It became so difficult that I stopped doing grips for all my friends and now only do them for myself. I've used LOTS of solvent, even tried to heat the grips with a hair dryer to soften them up. I may have made two mistakes that has made it worse, I probably used a solvent to clean any residue off and not let them dry sufficeintly and also may have unknowingly gripped the grip too close to the end. I've stopped using masking tape thinking that it may be making the shaft too wide. Any ideas. As a last resort, I may have to get a compressor and start using air.
If you have only tried putting solvent on the tape or in the grip, I would recommend doing both as the bottom of the tape doesn't always get a lot of solvent. It is good to clean the residue off the shaft, but you should let it dry before applying tape.

exactly how DO YOU FIX A STIUCK GRIP!!!
My grip doesn’t even go on with no grip tape. Seems like the shaft is too wide?
Same issue. So friggin' frustrating!
If the butt of the grip is loose and not all the way in, can i add solvent by the hole and reslide it?

Don't do a video in your garage!!! The audio has too much echo!!! You can't understand a thing because of the echo.
