      @rebchizelbeak5392 3 місяці тому +12

      Unfortunately, training to failure is typically not as effective as RIR with more times a week training.
      The app showed 2RIR as the goal, and drop sets to failure aren’t that.
      This was part for the video, and part a once a week training.
      Note: killing your arms like this can stunt other exercises in following days. This has to be done in a planned way

    • @nomongosinthaworld
      @nomongosinthaworld 3 місяці тому +16

      It’s not as black or white as that. You can absolutely train to failure often and frequently as long as your volume within one session is kept relatively low. It also varies from muscle to muscle as the biceps for example recover rather quickly for most people. If you’re not training them more than twice a week, it wouldn’t be a problem to go this hard either because with smart arranging of your sessions you’ll still likely have enough time to recover.

      Yes because technique is a very small part of the hypertrophy equation. Important, worthwhile, but not necessarily going to hold you back alone (unless you injure yourself) if you have the genetics, recovery, diet, all in check, and then on top of that you are enhanced. Having good technique doesn't mean you get big, having good technique means your more resilient to injury, and marginally you might have a small improvement in hypertrophy.

    Great work on the RP UA-cam site. I've really learned quite a bit and have enjoyed the videos over the past few months that I've been a subscriber.
    I listened to the talk on sports training and was wondering if you'd consider doing sport-specific training discussions? For instance, I still play competitive tennis in the USTA and would like some insight into a good workout program in-season (most of the year) and off-season (typically only 2 mos) to maintain and improve strength, explosiveness, and endurance that also allows for on-court practice time. I'm sure others would appreciate sport-specific videos too.
    Thoughts?

    Dudes got such awesome biceps, but un unwilliness to give it his all. Give anyone his genetics with the right attitude and they'd be unstoppable. Glad to see you called him on his bs.

    Everyone shitting on the guy for being dumb and lazy because of gear are being unkind, it’s also possible he just was never all that smart or hard working to begin with.

      It’s kinda proof that you don’t. You just have to blast gear and have great genetics. Though imagine what someone with an actual work ethic could do with the same advantages.

      @@user-fn1cd6mo9z Not at all. I'll never get on gear. Clearly it's powerful but the downsides are too much.

      This dude does NOT have great genetics. Look at his stage shots. There's a reason he never went pro, not even close. You can grow on anabolics without touching a single weight, they optimize anabolism. That's what they were originally invented for, not for growing muscle. What induces hypertrophy is stressing muscles. Combined anabolics with poor technique will make anyone grow as long as muscle gets worked. There's a reason he has overdeveloped arms and shoulders and not chest, back or legs.
