      It looks easy, but I've tried it. It's not easy.

    • @DigitalViscosity
      @DigitalViscosity 2 роки тому +1

      @@TedJ47 Pretty easy, you just gotta see the values in each hue you use. You can use any colour as long as the value is right.

    • @DigitalViscosity
      @DigitalViscosity 2 роки тому

      @@TedJ47 These colours are a little too gray for me, I if they would've used chromium oxide green for the base instead of those french greys it wouldn't look so desaturated, when they added in the reds the green would've created a beautiful brown that's a little more vibrant. The shadows look too dull as well a purple or blue would make those shadows contrast better. I think about colour harmonies now just value, this is just value. Not a bad job but not extraordinary either.

    You have an animalistic sense that you can see primary colors by dividing them into several colors.
    Your color separation ability is excellent. In addition, you are really good at drawing characters by mixing various colors.

    I'm an artist that doesn't draw a reference, I make up a portrait but use references for adjusting anatomy. I always have trouble doing the Shading and lighting because I can't find any picture that matches my sketch as guidance.
    But your video cleared up a lot, now I know that I should sharpen my pencils , I never do that 😅 that might be why my drawings end up having blobs and looking less dimensional.

    I don't like blending so many different colors together. Five colors is my limit. I do smaller 8x10 portraits only, so some of the techniques don't work that well when you use 10 different pencils, and any mistakes are nearly uncorrectable.
