By looking at this vid you realize three things: 1. the incredible speed he needs to do those exercises, 2. the amazing concentration he had when successfully doing these in the all-around and teams, 3. we'll never ever be able to do such stuff.
So, he is human after all!!!! This gymnast is a beast!! I was beginning to think he was a robot or something, and was programmed to always stay on his feet and stick
Well, triple double is a G, thats .7, he competed back 3 1/2 punch from half lay. Thats E+B which gives .1 or .2 bonus, can't remember which. So thats at least .8, which is higher than triple double anyway
yeah i heard that he put is hands down on one of his tumbles in the all-around but still won AMAZING. I bet he was so mad at himself even though he won.
I heard this floor fall happened in the end of the training on floor after he did many tumbles. The triple double would just add 0.1 to his d score so he probably didn't want to take the risk.
He didn't count the punch half (B) to his D score. So he got an E for the 3.5 and 0.1 connection bonus. That's 0.1 less than than the triple double. But he always perfectly stuck the 3.5 to punch half so he would have to stick the triple double to get the 0.1 bonus (he would probably get at least a 0.1 deduction for the low landing and 0.1 for a hop)
That high bar wipe out could've ended REALLY badly for him. Scary stuff.
