When you get competitors and other coaches clapping for you and consistently analysing your every routine, King Kohei is a legend.

It doesn't matter where you're from or what country you represent, one thing is clear: When you watch a gymnast like Uchimura, you can't help but admire his precision and difficulty.

I saw Japanese news show featuring Uchimura the day before yesterday.
He's fresh from his recovery period from his shoulder problem but showed his practice on high bar. It was so much terrific, he showed the result of his recent challenge for a new finish that nobody in the world ever succeeded. He made it, so great.

There are some sports where you just look at them and you know you could never do what they do, this video is the best possible example.

He is quite possibly the next generation of gymnastics. He is so young and dominating all his competitions. Check out his world championship routine, there the same and he performed those with even better control.

since this Olympic gold. uchimura has added three more all around gold medals, the gold at the 2013 world championship all around, the all around gold at both the tokyo world in 2013 AND 2014 this april. he won the lastest world cup beated both his teammate kato and fabian h. all the best in the world were there. and his win is 2.5 points above the second place finisher. he is absolutely the greatest of all time.
he even added the triple twisting double layout(that's triple twisting, not double twisting) in his high bar routine(F or G). you can watch the 2014 tokyo hb of uchimura on utube. he nailed the dismount. he totally stuck the landing. watch fabian's face when he saw that routine. this 2014 HB routine is better than the one he did when he won the world championship AA in 2013.
he may have a G skill name after him. he has successfully hit a quadruple twisting double back. he did it with ease. whether he will introduce it at the world champ later this year i don't know.

In the 2012 London olympics, when all the other gymnastic athletes were meant to be training, all of the athletes took a day off just to watch uchimura kohei. Thats how good he is.

agreed... NBC's coverage is horrible ... they do not even mention half of the events ... and since I do not live in the US, I cannot even watch the replays on their site ... I would even pay to watch entire events online, too ....

Yeah a tripod would have been useful, but I did the best with what I had. The tickets cost just under £100, so around $160, really expensive and I was so far away, but it was still amazing to go to an Olympic event.

BBC is vastly superior to NBC in this aspect. It shouldn't be too difficult to find a British VPN that you might have to subscribe for in order to watch live (and much more comprehensive and objective) coverage of all Olympic events.

You seemed so serious about having arguments with a typical Korean's troll.
I thought it's absurd but wanted to know how you worked out in vain.
However, the video you indicated is so interesting to know Korean people's incredible reaction when they face something they can't take on.
