Thanks for the video very informative I'm just getting into mooching always used downriggers but after I got my first fish mooching it hooked me harder than I hooked the fish haha. Way more fun.
Fishing the pin! Next stop coho point! 😊 Then parker and the wall.Langara rocks can be good at times and of course the light house aswell.😊 Love Langara Island.
Excellent! Thanks for the in-depth information. I appreciate that you take the time to go over how your rigging up and what you're using. Helps a lot! Hopefully my wife and I can make it up. We would love to fish with you.
It looks like you are trolling rather then mooching? Maybe I’m wrong. It seems that you guys run very specific rods and reels for mooching then we do in the states for mooching.
Thanks very much from New Zealand. I am anazed at the old technology reels you use, and no nets? No braid, no fluorocarbon leader. And you can snell.hooks way easier than that
Great video! I'll be back at Langara again, the 1st week of September. This time, I'll bring along my fly rod in the hope of catching a big Northern coho on the 10 wt. Any tips on flies for those late season silver bullets in the salt chuck? I'll probably be playing in the prop wash while the other rods are mooching.
Great video! I have not seen a knife with a rounded tip like you use to cut and clean guts from the herring. Is there a name or brand in it or a link you would have for us to find one? Thanks

Great video.
Where can I find "Guide Vlog #1 - #6"?
Glad you enjoyed it. Our other Guide Vlogs are on our UA-cam page youtube.com/@chromers
Can you provide any detail on which tubing you used?
How are the seals and sea lions up,there this year?

It is a Rapala fillet knife. We simply take the tip to a grinder to get the sharp point off and give it that rounded tip.
Morakniv also sells a floating knife with a rounded tip.
Use a single barbless hook ,we used them in the eights
Great video!

Awesome video! Where do you get the surgical tubing like the ones you have that are so thick! I can't seem to find those ever for my slider. Cheers
You got to shop around a bit to find it, Pacific Net & Twine in Steveston carries it.
man that's a perfect spin! I think Ive ben cutting mine a little too steep of an angle
Kings like it slow.
We’re in Canada, they’re Springs
What OZ weight are you running. Also where do you find the coated slip sinkers? Can’t seem to find them in the states.
Mainly 8 ounce weights, but sometimes we use 6's and 4's. You can buy them covered or you can use plasti-dip and dip your own, thats what we do.
@@chromers thanks for the response. Hope your having a great season. Fished up there last august and landed a 45LB.
What do you use for a weight set up?
My question is where do you get your herring?
The herring come frozen and packed from Vancouver Island.
Some people find out where they spawn. Stock up on them for fishing season.
Are you guys using MR3's, MR2LA's or TR3's?
I'm using MR3 reels spooled with 30 pound main and 25 pound leaders.
These are spawning kings?
No, these are chinooks (kings) in the saltwater. They are feeding and heading down the BC coast to their native rivers.
if they are hungry they will bite anything lol
Feeder Chinook bite till they are puking.
Don’t leave fish to find fish.
No greater piece of advice!
