    The Crows Nest, the Wall, head of Rivers' Inlet. Had a pod of Orca blow by our boat at the entrance to the river itself. (spawn run of the largest Chinook on the BC coast; almost all over 55 lbs. easy. The BABY was longer than our boat. I was looking UP at the back...of mom, as she blew by us. !!

    I was a deck hand in 1975 to 1981 I couldn't believe it when we went gillnetting in rivers how loaded the inlet was at night the inlet looked like a city so many boats there was so many abundance of salmon

    • @jenny_adrift
      @jenny_adrift  6 місяців тому +1

      It used to be so much more abundant. Most places were but it’s been fished a lot. Boundary markers are changing and a lot of the lodges have gone. I can’t imagine what it was like in the cannery days. People must’ve thought it was endless.
      Thank you so much for watching. I’m glad you’re enjoying my videos.!

      However, this lodge is privately run so the owner invites, friends and family up to visit and we don’t have actual paying guests

    peaceful foggy atmosphere, very nice video.
    the fish that are caught are released?. correct?.

    • @jenny_adrift
      @jenny_adrift  Рік тому +1

      Yes! All the Chinook that are caught, no matter the size, are released. Unless they are badly hurt and bleeding. That rarely happens.

    Looks like you are fishing on RIR side. I need to figure out the boundaries and how they are now. Is marker 16 still to be seen on other side? Or has it dissolve into history?
    Good video as always!!!

      @jenny_adrift  Рік тому

      You are absolutely right. We were on the Rivers Inlets Resort side. You can still see a little bit of a building and deck with chairs on it in the bush. The boundaries are still up. You can see the white square in the video that you don’t cross. There are usually a lot of people up there and you can always ask for help to make sure you’re doing the right thing. People are very friendly. Thanks so much for watching and I’m glad you enjoyed the video!

      Had a guy work with me logging, who was a guide there in the late 70's.
      Man could he cut plug !
      We caught a couple of 30ish pounders in front of my cabin in Ukee, in a 12' canoe .

    Love the Drone shots. 46? Wow! I Hope that future generations will have the same opportunities that we have,to enjoy Canada’s nature and wildlife.
    By the way I love those red shoes your wearing. Can you tell me the brand?
    Thanks for the video😀

      Thank you, Pierre! We all hope the same. Many more generations enjoying catching these hogs! That’s why all spring salmon are released and also why the Percy Walkus Hatchery began!
      My shoes are Mountain Warehouse and are very comfortable and waterproof. Hope that helps.
      Thank you so much for your continued support. I’m so happy you are enjoying my videos!

    Hi Jenny, have you, Ted or any of the others heard of Anyox Copper Mine on the west coast.? It's a ghost town apparently.
