    Not many JDM rod reviewers out there and most are young guys like me that don't know everything I have ordered JDM stuff before never wanted to jump on buying a rod because it's hard to find info on them so thank you for being here for the rest of us I will be watching more of your videos .

      gloving3 thanks much for watching and the kind words. Have some JDM gear coming to do some reviews on and just ordered another JDM rod....an Olympic Graphite Leader 6’ 10” Corto Ajing rod. Hoping to get back out soon to do some fishing.

    That drum looked like a lot of fun. I love hooking into them while ultralight fishing. Happy thanksgiving!

      Kayak Catfish one of those a trip is fine....but when you constantly hook into them it gets to be annoying....LOL.

      Kayak Catfish, I thought of you when he landed it. A lot of folks here in the Cherokee and Douglas lake area use drum as cutbait.

    👍🏼 #1..... That's just how the sand bass do come here also with the small ones showing up before the big females.... Good looking rod.... I'll be watching for your new net review..... Those BIG drum do put up a good fight..... Nice catchn...

      SK's CRAPPIE Catchn Adventures thanks SK. These white bass below this dam are harder to catch than at any other dam I fish on the TN River in the winter. They are very finicky. I can usually catch 50-60 in about 4 hours but on other dams it would be 100 or more. I can’t figure out why so picky at this dam....they seem to want very small lures below this dam. Going to try some UL cranks next time down.......don’t usually fish those. This is the 2nd winter to fish it.....was same way last year.

    Another great video TroutMagnetMan. I have decided to use a swear jar (old sailor) as a way to save for a JDM rod & reel. LOL

    Very interesting rod, wish I could compare it to my TenRyu Rayz Spectra 5’1” LL rod for stream fishing trout in the driftless.

    • @troutmagnetman
      @troutmagnetman  6 років тому

      Craig Thoreson thanks much for watching. I’ve never owned a JDM “stream” rod so I couldn’t really speak to a comparison. Have several area rods but that’s a different animal. The Lunakia is quite a unique rod in the fact it isn’t as rigid as an Ajing and not as soft as a Mebaru rod.

      TroutMagnetMan thanks, looking at the bend profile even when loaded. May have to check one out someday.

    hi Randy just subscribed ---- came from Crappie.Com (zig zag) been following your post on ultralight fishing and started down sizing my tackle. Great videos keep em coming. I'm a trout magnet user and just started using some 13 Fishing tungsten jigs / soft plastics. THANKS

    • @troutmagnetman
      @troutmagnetman  6 років тому

      Jason thanks much for watching and the kind words. I also have some of the 13 Fishing tungsten jig heads. I don’t know if you have watched any of the videos about the Daiwa jig heads but they really are something......extremely sharp and thin. As soon as I get over the creeping crud will get back out doing videos.

    Was wondering when you would try out that new rod. Looks like you found a nice day with light winds. Really enjoy your videos.

    • @troutmagnetman
      @troutmagnetman  6 років тому +1

      TheQuailtail thanks for the support and comments. I was on the crappie for the past few weeks and didn’t want to switch out to the Lunakia not knowing what to expect. Well this rod is going to be truly universal for UL angling. I’m beginning to see more JDM rods show up as “light game” vs Ajing or Mebaru. Would love to pick the knowledge of a Japanese Master Angler to hear their opinion of these “light game” rods....since they are so dialed in on a specie specific rods.

    Have you ever used the evergreen salty sensation limber tip? If so how does this compare to it?

    • @troutmagnetman
      @troutmagnetman  3 роки тому

      Thanks for watching. I have not used an Limber Tip but can tell you it is a superior rod sensitivity wise than the Lunakia. A rod that does compare favorably with the Limber Tip at a much cheaper price is the Abu Garcia Eradicator Real Finesse 6’ 7 “ Slow Taper Special. I have friends who own both and they tell me the that the Eradicator is on par with the Limber Tip.

    Your boat is pretty unique. Could you do a video on it and go into as much detail as you do your rods & reals? Great video's!

    Hi,which rod do you prefer? Tenryu 610 or yamaga blanks 610 and why? Thanks in advance.

    • @troutmagnetman

      PRODROMOS TSAMIS thanks for watching. This is a tough question. I would give the nod to the Lunakia. It is a cross between a Mebaru and an Ajing rod. It is not as rigid as the Blue Current nor is it as soft as a Mebaru rod. The bend in the Lunakia will be more parabolic. While both rods a made in Japan and both are high quality....the Lunakia has an impeccable build quality. The reel seat on the Lunakia is not only very beautiful but I feel it transmits the feel better.

      @@troutmagnetman thanks for your answer. One last question. Why did you choose the tabular instead of solid?

    • @troutmagnetman
      @troutmagnetman  5 років тому +1

      PRODROMOS TSAMIS the 6’ 10” only comes in tubular tip. I am a big fan of solid tip rods as I fish soft plastics 90 percent of the time. However it is good to have a tubular tip around for fishing hard baits......which I am beginning to fish more often.

    • @depechemfm
      @depechemfm 5 років тому

      @@troutmagnetman The truth is that I have several tubular tip rods,but none solid. I don't know which one of the lunakia series to choose...

      The 6’ 3” Lunakia is an outstanding rod with a solid tip.

    Thats an awesome rod. Surprised about the caliber of fish you can bring in on 2lb line, I often break off even using 4lb! What kind of knot do you use to tie on your lure? Also, can you explain your technique of setting the hook by reeling? I'm really interested in what your doing, keep up with the equipment reviews and fishing videos, there really worth every minute of watching!
