Hi Becca! In my case MacBook Pro 2020 16", 10 CPU cores and 16Gigs of ram, I got a little low there for my work some times, I'm a Platform Engineer, zero art, well I write but nothing visual I mean. I love this machine. Great vid!! I'm so happy to see you here on your own!!!
@@BeccaFarsace Same! We have this amazing law in Norway, I love to take advantage of: Companies that make things that are supposed to last "well over a year" (like laptops, tablets and phones) are mandated to provide a 5(!)-year warranty. So if you buy a one year old MacBook, you still have 4 years of warranty left ('cause it's not tied to the first buyer). 👌🏻
I can’t believe I’m watching an edc video that makes me feel totally fine with what I’ve got and not wanting to spend money on upgrades or unnecessary gear ❤
I love the scrappy spirit that comes though this new side of you. It's like early Casey Neistat. I know you're likely struggling for real, it's not a scrappy aesthetic, and that makes it feel quite close an authentic, like old youtube. Most tech channels are very extravagant and flexing on people. I'm very curious to see where your solo adventure goes. Bell is activated, will be here to see everything happen!
The idea of someone who crushes it in the tech community while MacGyvering her setup to make videos is an inspiration to us all. Thx for being that champion, Becca.
Becca, your content has been so much more relaxed and true since you started going solo! It's honestly been an amazing ride and I can't wait to see what you've got in store for us in the near future. Thanks for the great video as always!
Dear Becca, I very rarely comment on videos (guess I've commented less than 10 times in the last 10 years on UA-cam) but I just wanted to let you know that I genuinely enjoy your "solo" videos. I'm not quite sure how you do it but it feels like watching a friend giving recommendations and your personality shines through as well. It is a joy to watch them. Especially considering the climate we all live in right now. Thank you and keep at it! P.S. Thanks for keeping it "real". No one needs videos like these where every single item is virtually unattainable for 99.9% of the population.
Used, Refurbished, On sale, On loan, you're the one of the most relatable-to-consumer tech UA-camr, but still deliver high quality contents. Love you, Ødegaard 🌿
I really appreciate that the summation of this video is not “I have the most expensive version of everything I and I have been using it for a month.” Really refreshing to see someone talk about longevity of products. Thank you for being relatable and saying the things that regular folks think when spending money
I like that you are not obcessed with a single ecossystem or brand. You play around with all brands and are not afraid of trying things outside the ecossystem. Sometimes, forgetting brands and just buying something you like, is great. I dont care about ecossystems. I buy the best device for my needs and budget, any brand is fine. Helps to stay open minded.
As soon as you said " I dont actually need that much power, and it would be just a silly use of that much money" i gave you a like and subscribed... Most of the content creators today would passively convince you that you need the latest and greatest to create something great. This video is proof that its totally the other way around.
I trust Becca's views because she sticks with products long enough to know them intimately, flaws and all. I know I have stuff that might not be the best but they suit me and my uses (and most importantly my budget!) Also love her getting up to check the lens during the video and not editing that out to make it more slick, just real and authentic
Too many UA-camr reviewers are obsessed with chasing newness, so it's so refreshing to see your setup that isn't packed with a ton of brand new stuff, especially using things past their "typical" lifespan. Just shows that no one really needs the shiniest, newest tech to create great work! Also gotta love the A7C + Samyang combo!!
Becca, never stop being real. I've been following you on the Verge for years now and you are still my most trusted tech reviewer! I'm so glad you went solo and I can't wait to see how your channel evolves.
I have an M1 Macbook pro with a benq monitor too. I had the same flicker problem and it seemed to stop when I changed my docking station to a different brand. I had a dell dock station and my caldigit seemed to fix that for me (or at least i think so).
Your videos are so well done. You are so real and refreshing. You set such a great example for those that may be considering doing videos themselves. Thank you for sharing your knowledge in a way that is so enjoyable.
Another awesome video as always! That classic Becca vibe is all over it - you’re always so real, not holding back about snagging stuff on mega sale or picking up your gear second-hand with a little damage or a scratch. Keep doing your thing
She's my favorite UA-camr, exactly for the reason that this video is. Very close to me, not arrogant, not a know-it-all, and down to earth. Which other UA-camr would admit that their MacBook keyboard has two keys that are stuck? No one I know. Becca is like a good friend who simply knows more about tech than I do.
Becca, i just love how REAL this video is! No last tech straight from the factory or fancy stuff, just the things you really use and some other creators might get a grab on them. I love it! Keep the good job!
I love the vibe of your videos. They're informative AND they're also super friendly. It always feels like I'm having a short break with a friend who has loads of interesting things to share. Many thanks for your work.
This was a great video. A realistic approach to quality products. The beautiful photography really shows that it's your passion. Picking the Samsung also means you care more about how music sounds than all of the secondary features on earbuds.
So glad this got served up in my feed as I wasn't aware you had your own channel! Love your stuff and super happy you went out on your own - you'll kill it!
It’s refreshing and down to earth to hear that you bought a lot of your gear at a discount, love it. At the same time, if you have the opportunity to upgrade your gear, especially your Mac, I hope you seize it! You certainly deserve to have a Mac with fully functioning keys and no scratches on the screen.
This video is amazing, the quality, both of audiovisual and of the content itself are very high. You remind me of NewEsc when he was starting. Keep up the great work, you're rocking!
So happy to see you doing your thing Becca! I love your outlook on tech and always valued your opinion. Also side note - would love more tech non tech reviews, as I needed a new backpack and now I've been influenced ahah.
Thanks for this Becca. Once again a very honest and sincere review about all your stuff. Cool to see how you 'make do' with all kinds of tech that is not perfect. great video, i want more! Keep keeping it real. Such a breath of fresh air when you have a content creator who isn't reviewing the top of the range gear, fully maxed out etc which most people don't even want/need!
Most comments highlighted it but it is so refreshing to see a tech UA-camr talk so intelligently about how they buy tech. A product is not so good but not in a bad condition so you won’t change it just for the sake of upgrading the tech, it’s pretty rare in the tech world and I guess it’s good both for environment and for our minds since it removes the urge to always have the latest tech

It's nice to see a tech reviewer getting stuff on sale. "This $20,000 computer is amazing" is not useful for most folks.
open-box, refurbished, and used are my three favorite words
100% this, I feel like tech influencers often encourage people to over-spend. People out there buying a MacBook Pro when all they needed was an Air.

I know, right? Outrageous feline behaving like the Queen of Sheba!
Recently I was dog sitting and this dog decided to lay on the bed but put a back leg on the laptop 😂 these things happen 🤷🏻♂️
love the rawness in this video, your desk setup does not look like it belongs in heaven, it looks like a working professional uses it everyday.
I used to be embarrassed about it, but then I realized it works for me, so who cares. 🤷
I love this comment. I thought the exact same thing.
I learnt one thing from this video: You don't need fancy equipment to make great videos. Thanks Becca.
