The ASMR people getting their first look at fly tying! I was pretty much the opposite, I was wondering why the microphone was so close to the vise with its gain set to 11! Then I realized oh this is that AMSR stuff. 😂
Wow finally someone filling the niche. I’m glad to find someone who isn’t only doing shorts or narrating in the background. I don’t fly fish but I feel like making your lure is an under appreciated art. Nice video. 🤝
Have you ever considered doing some commentary or just chatting whilst you're tying flies? When i was in highschool i used to watch a soft spoken man tie flies (i cant remember the channel but the videos were all years old on it) i yhink commentary about what has worked for you or why something works could be very interesting. Keep up the good work! Real pretty bee.
This is just perfection! The painstaking attention to detail, the creativity, the videography, and soft aural atmospherics all combine so beautifully. You made two pieces of art: The fly itself and the video! 🐝 ❤ Thank you for sharing your craft.
I really appreciate that! We’re a team of two - my boyfriend is the videographer and editor and he’s absolutely brilliant. This has been such an amazing passion project for us!
Wow. That thing is as much a work of art as it is a useable fly. I could seriously see myself collecting them and I’ve never even tried to fly fish. Also your channel is what I’ve been looking for; the combination of fly tying and ASMR. Thank you!
Been tying and watching videos, for years, absolutely addictive, will say by far , one of the best fly tyers I've seen. Seriously world class. Thank you for sharing!
i just randomly clicked this video, and i gotta say, the level of effort you put into your content is astounding, i saw you reply to like every comment, and every piece of feedback, and obviously this is just so impressive, this looks like piece of art, you’re an incredibly respectable content creator
Wow - thank you so much! It's not lost on me that people have a lot ways they can spend their time, and if they choose to spend it watching my content, I'm extremely grateful. The encouragement and even the constructive feedback from viewers is critical when it comes to moving this channel and my content forward. Really appreciate you being here!
I randomly saw UA-cam telling me to rate this video and I happened to be interesting so I clicked on this video and now I'm very interested in your content. Great work I love this nice little project, keep up the good work 💯
How did i miss your channel! Excellent work on the vise👌I too tie on YT and have always appreciated those that step outside the "norm" and treat it more like art. Subscribed. Realistic is hard, well done🐝 Thanks for sharing! Steve
I learnt about the existence of fly tying a few years back, and it's lovely to see it pop up in my recommends again after so long. Especially such beautiful and skillful work you do. I'm really curious if you fish with the pieces you make, or they're more of an ornamental kind of thing. Keep up the great work!

A fantastic looking work of art. I don't know how flexible the legs are, so I can't tell if they would interfere with hookups. I see you mentioned hook-size, but what do you think about this? Thanks.
They absolutely would interfere with hookups. This one was impractical but a really fun challenge. At a minimum, I would use a more flexible material for the legs. 😊
@@shetiesflies a few years back I made a couple wooden top water lures that resembled Murder Hornets (Asian Giant Hornet). I didn't know a lot about making lures at the time (still have a lot to learn) and used stainless-steel wire to make the feelers and legs. Talk about heavy! The first one sank like a rock. I should have looked to the Fly Tying world for legs. 🙂
I've been tying for a long time, even commercially, just to say, in the words of Linda ronstadt " you so good, lady you so good." Shortened and more respectful. Wanna learn, keep watching!

I totally get it!! Glad you’re still able to enjoy on double speed!! I’m hoping to fit in no whisper versions and soft spoken versions to the work stream to accommodate more viewers with difference preferences or sensitivities 💙
i love these videos! i always get them on my instagram reels and binge watch until i fall asleep sometimes lol however i notice you use gel polish with some of your ties, do you only flash cure the gel polish? i only ask because i am a licensed nail tech and uncured gel can cause some serious allergic reactions and contact dermatitis! i hope this isnt too nosy i just genuinely care for your health and wouldnt want allergic reactions to get in the way of you creating these beautiful ties and videos :)
Really appreciate that!! I cure for the full 60-90 seconds unless for some reason I want some extra tackiness for additional inclusions before sealing. That said, any advice is welcome and appreciated!
how did you learn to tie? i'm pretty much brand new to fishing but baitmaking has piqued my interest. got no one to show me the ropes but tying flies looks fun.
I'm self taught from books and online tutorials, but recently started working with some mentors to sharpen my skills :) The Orvis Fly Tying Guide and Barry Ord Clarke's beginner tying series are great places to start!

Thank you and yes! There are so many great tutorials out there to get started (may make my own one of these days) and plenty of books that can help you. If you have a local fly shop, I highly suggest you go take a look and ask questions. Find out what works for your local area of target species. Even better would be to find a mentor who can help you avoid pitfalls. I linked some Amazon lists to materials and tools that I use in the description, but I encourage you to shop local if you can. 😊 I would get a solid rotary vise if it’s within your budget - solid tools make a huge difference. Before you start working with a new material, do a quick search for tips and tricks for that material. There are so many great ones out there that can help you avoid rookie mistakes.
