- The LCD in my radio has been mostly nonfunctional for several years now. It's time to replace the thing. These radios are surprising difficult to get outside of the dealer but here's how to replace one if you need to. Enjoy.
Thanks for this video! It helped me remove the bezel and radio. UA-cam is awesome.
Sounds great! I’m glad it helped.
Can you tell me will will heater still work if I pull screen that is delaminating . Don’t want to lose heat when order new screen. Thanks
On mine, I replaced the whole unit. I would assume if you replace the screen with a comparable version and reconnect the ribbon cables, it should function as the original did. That said, I did find an aftermarket adapter that allows mounting a DIN radio in the dash. That adapter adds a row of climate control buttons below the unit so you no longer need the touch screen to use climate control. When this radio of mine fails, I’ll probably take the aftermarket path. Thanks.
Can you tell me where you did purchase this radio?
I bought it from an EBay based company. Here’s the link to their store. They were very helpful in making sure I purchased the right model for my VIN.

@@overthenexthorizon8271wish that store was still open. Fighting the same problem.
@@jblake79 just buy a $120 screen replacement instead of the whole unit. That's what I did.
What are the colors what do they stand for
I’m honestly not sure what each color is as far as components. When I was looking for a wiring diagram, I couldn’t find one either that information. I’d just recommend finding a unit that has the same set of colors on it as the one you’re trying to replace. Thanks for the question.
It would have really been helpful to see how that dash comes off.
Sorry. I only pulled it apart far enough to replace the radio. You can just pull up on the plastic surrounding the shifter. Once that’s up, you can pull the trim away from the dash starting at the bottom and working your way around until the whole thing separates.
Call Uconnect directly. I did and got a NEW radio.
Thanks for the comment.
And what did you tell them? Was your car still under a warranty by any chance?
@breakablesilences told them the radio was delaminating and that the channels were ghosting. The guy I talked to asked for the vin# said I had to take my vehicle to a Jeep dealer and have them look at the radio..did that and they confirmed the thing was junk. Waited 10 days Uconnect sent new radio to the dealer they contacted me set up appointment and bingo.. new radio was installed free of any charges. Good luck!
@breakablesilences no vehicle was not under waranty..bought it used.
