Chiv 2 might have better structure but the animations look horrid.
This has never made any sense to me. They are a bit stiff but compared to Mordhau there's really no negligible difference.

Loved the discussion on held parry. So many people used to hate on this game because of that mechanic.
But as someone who tried introducing his friends to the medieval slasher genre. Asking someone to have 7 free binds. And spend hours learning how to chamber to safely deal with 50/50s.
It was a hard sell and was the reason they could never get into Mordhau. Even when it was young. Hold block is a MUCH better mechanic for casuals.
agreed but feints aren't 50/50s, they are reactable (but very hard for most to do)

@Stouty I agree. I was referring to CFtP for drag accel mixes. Even that I don't personally feel is always a true guess. I Probably should've worded it better on my original comment
Telling a new player with no gamesense to "just read it 4head". Wasn't something I was gonna do lmao. If the game stopped at feints, it'd be fine to exclude chambers imo 👍
Mordhau should have been more of a competitive slasher than a casual one for that reason

Yo Stout, what are your thoughts on Mount and Blade Bannerlord PvP? I just tried it and fought with some pretty sweaty fuckers and from what i remember you despise the immersion break that comes with dragging right? Thats not really a big issue in Bannerlord so far as i can tell (Might just not have fought at a high enough level). Just seems to be spam feinting, which looks jank, but in alot of fights it feels more "real" than mordhau or chiv. Granted graphics aint as good. Have you tried it? You attempted chamber blocking ? Not alot of info is out on it and what is out is wrong which is pretty funny.
I think it's janky and archaic, the combat has been surpassed over a decade ago with chiv 1 (which has its own faults)
@@Stouty bannerlord's combat is best when your on a mount (and in singleplayer tbh)

Was fun farming level 400's while it lasted, until they kick you for saying "pg up". They do not like melee gods in their lobby!
im sure u know but in chiv 2 you can block arrows with a sword with the counter for like .5 seconds
