We are just back from the Hilton Ageas Bowl Southampton to see whether this is a good choice for a pre or post cruise! Well, we got a LOT more than we expected. Come and find out why! :)
Looks like a great pre-cruise stay, but also a great weekend away to watch the cricket from your balcony and use the golfcourse. Then relax with the spa and some evening drinks and/or meal. 😁👍🍺 My dad was especially impressed too since he's a big cricket fan.
@2:41 - When he gets on a roll, he is unstoppable. 🙌🙌 It would be hard for me to believe Jamie has not done some sort of stand-up comedy with Matthew playing the 'straight man'. TYJ
We have stayed there twice before our cruise, the first time view of the golf course and car park, the second time we had a view of the cricket ground. We also left our car parked there while we were on our cruise. Lovely hotel.
Looks absolutely beautiful hotel. Not a cricket or golf person here but I'd gladly sit on the balcony and pass a few hours relaxing there and would make full use of the spa.
Stayed there a few weeks ago using the ‘cruise package’ which included the car park and taxi to/from the ship. Great value and breakfast was excellent 😊
Hello my darlings! I just wanted to thank you so much for your vlogs! I'm now, unfortunately, only a 'sofa traveller', but many decades ago, I did totally bonkers things like travelling to Greece on the so-called 'Magic Bus', and exploring Europe in my Mini van, on the way to and from Zakynthos, Greece! It's now well known, with international flights, but in those days getting there was a bloody problem!😊😂
🤣🤣 love the jam cream comment, but it’s more important butter or no?? Lol. Staying here before our cruise in September. No cricket until the Sunday, blooming shame. Loving your vlogs. Have a great summer.
Looks amazing, we are deciding where to stay in March when we do the carribean cruise on Arvia. If we had the afternoon tea, it would have to be jam first!! 😂
Thats a good looking hotel! I'm a golfer so am interested in what looks a great option to stay and play - it's not too far from me either. The food looked very good and all in all a quality hotel - thanks for the review
We always stay here the night before our cruises, that was a good price. Dont eat in the restaurant for dinner any more as ithe standards and service are quite varied and agree, not cheap. We tend to go out and eat as i dont mind driving. Do love their rooms and the breakfast is always good. Just one little niggle: my car has a golf ball mark indented in the door ! They have signs saying that you park at your own risk! Fair enough, wouldn't leave it there longer than overnight!
Ah, I've wondered about this hotel for a while actually! The rooms look beautiful - really not sure about the glass dividers separating the balconies - no privacy, however maybe that's the cruiser in me...!!
@@TravelBlogJamie Sorry didn't realise i'd posted twice. If i could pick this hotel up and plop it inplace of the harbour hotel and have the boats/yachts/ships to look at as well that might just be my idea of perfect.

It's wholesome to watch you review a hotel room like it's a cruise cabin. Thank you Jesu.. I mean Jamie!
Lol 😆
I’ve stayed in that hotel for a couple of nights pre cruise. I loved it. Thank you for reminding me how nice it was. Fabulous vlog as usual x
Oh I’d happily do a couple nights Pat!

Thank youuuuuuuu

I’ve been trying to persuade hubby to go here for our next cruise - I’m sure this video will help 😉☺️
Ha! If not, send him my way and I’ll try my best 😉

I went to a Hilton hotel before at pre cruise day a few years ago
Which one?

Yeh that’s not something that bothers me 😂
Watched a fair few matches at the bowl.
Never stayed in the hotel but may well do 1 day.
I wouldn’t mind watching from my balcony
@@TravelBlogJamie That would be bliss for me.
@@akajasonbourne well maybe you could try it out?
Scones: jam on one side, cream on the other, sandwich together - everyone is happy 😂
That’s a no from me 😂
Bloomin good value for money!
Definitely!!
Nice m&s food hall just a 10 min walk away if u fancy your own nibbles and booze on the balcony!
👍👍👍
You don’t have to pay for the spa do you? It’s not included in your room rate, or if you’re a Hilton’s honour member?
Yes you have to pay for the spa
Lovely hotel.
❤️❤️❤️

Crabtree and Evelyn are very posh!
Oh are they now?! Get me using posh stuff 😂
£7.25 a pint & £29 for a bottle of red wine that cost £9 in a supermarket
It’s a hotel, not a supermarket
