Thank you SO much dude / dudette. This was my FAVORITE mix (can't tell you how special this one is). The temporal nature of everything online, things can disappear forever in an instant. I'm glad you gave me a second chance to collect a hard copy of this mix before it goes away again!
This game and its music still lingers 20+ years later, more than any other I played back in the day. If anyone reads this that worked on the not donkey kong games, your creativity had an impact on millions of people and is remembered decades later, and it will be for decades more.
The team at Rare that made this game were unbelievable. There was a time it seemed like everything they touched turned to gold. Shame they all moved on.
I'm 35, my first game was DOOM II in 1994, I didn't own a console before 2009, but this music makes me overwhelmingly nostalgic and gives me the desire to find a SNES somewhere and play Donkey Kong Country
Not sure why: i've been a gamer since my kid days in the 90s; i loved DK64 despite the water world area, got into Call of Duty in my teen years...but the DK series (specifically Tropical Freeze); just has this catchy vibe that draws my spirit out of the societal norms, confusion, and disruption that gets experienced almost everyday. (Let me clarify: as a nobody who left his friends mid-high school, barely graduated and went straight into the job field: i was living for nobody but myself). Then one day in early 2014 God had me pick up DKC Tropical Freeze from my local gamestop: and i experienced something whole new in gaming that i hadn't in a long time: it was like i was refreshed in my soul from the wasted days and years beforehand in my life...just by playing and experiencing Donkey Kong TF for myself. I loved everything about Tropical Freeze so much that i bought DKC Returns for 3ds as well as the original trilogy for the Wii U's virtual console. I got to achieve a lifelong dream of mine by going to Africa and listened to this music while i was over there: (some of it felt so natural...). I guess what i'm trying to say in all this, is don't give up on your dreams. Whether you are 14 or 40; God loves you and wants the best for your life. He saved my soul countless times (even in recent days; most from my own decision making); and i know He will save you too if you're just willing to turn to Him with your whole heart. Just ask Him to from your heart (Romans 10:9 "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead thou shalt be saved. v.10 ) For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." For whosover shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (Romans 10:13). God bless you, hope you're having a good evening. : )
God can be found in the least expected places. Me however, I could never truly follow the doctrine of any church. Some key beliefs just don't make any sense to me such as the nature of the Holy Trinity and the Adam and Eve part.

I wasn't sure what to expect when I clicked on this but I'm glad I did. NDKC is my new favorite VGM series. Edit: NDKC is an acronym for Near-Death Keksperience Citation. In 8-D Space, you are not restricted to a body. So you have out of body experiences, but it doesn't stop there. There are layers of out-of-body experiences. One of those outer layers is called Keksperiences. It's a jovial out of body experience. Death still plays a role but not in a way that is bound by time (like, how we experience death classically through the passage of time, although death can come at any moment.) So you are able to die while having any layer of out of body experience. Laws still exist in higher dimensions. In higher order dimensions, an occurrence is not necessary to get in trouble. Coming close to an unfavorable event is offense enough to break laws in higher order dimensions. One of those offenses is coming close to death while having an out of body experience. This is a minor offense and is handled in "traffic court" equivalence. Thus, Near-Death Keksperience Citation is when you come close to death while undergoing an out of body experience in the 'keksperience' layer. VGM stand for video game music.
Checkpoint: I used to go to a video store in the 1990s and there was always someone playing DKC... The first time I saw diddy doing the roll trick and not falling off the cliff I was enchanted. Donkey Kong music will always have a space in my heart and mind that sends me back to being in elementary school. Both of my parents had to work all day just to afford food day to day. I remember my grandma would pick me up from school and we'd go to her house and she'd have the SNES set up on one of those huge box tv's with the big speakers built into them. We'd play Donkey Kong 1 and 2 back and forth. Eventually we'd get stuck one one of them and switch to the other. I don't think we ever beat them, but at the time I don't even think I understood that you could even beat those games. I'm 19 now, turning 20 in December. I quit my job almost a year ago to the day. God bless my parents for letting me be a bum and figure out all the shit going through my head. Took me a long time, but I finally got over the fact that I'll never feel how I used to when I would spend the night at my grandma's house, spending all night trying to beat Donkey Kong, before eventually falling sleep on the couch. I don't know if it was fear, or grief or whatever it was that was a roadblock in my life, but it's gone now. I'll always miss those times. I'll never be able to shake wanting to be that kid again sitting in one of those recliners with a controller in my hand, being disgusted by the smell of the Marlboro menthols my grandma would smoke, but I'll always be thankful I got to experience that. Thanks for this video man, you rock.
